Allow incremental Claim Count reset
Reset Claim Count is currently all or nothing. We need the ability to reduce the claim count incrementally. This would help in situations where we actually find a bona fide claim return on our shelf for a customer who otherwise has a pattern of making false claims. We want to be able to clear that incident from the claim count without having to reset to zero.

Include ‘Patron Statistical Code’ in Leap Patron Information Panel
Current Situation:
We currently have an unwieldy number of Patron Codes, which we aim to streamline by shifting toward greater use of Patron Statistical Classes. This is possible because many of our existing Patron Codes have minimal or no functional differences. However, Patron Statistical Classes are not currently displayed within Leap’s Patron Info (‘I’ button) panel, requiring extra steps for staff who frequently need quick access to this detail regardless of which patron registration view they are currently in.Suggested Enhancement:
Add the Patron Statistical Code directly below the Patron Code within the Leap patron information (‘I’) panel. This would…4 votes -
Combine current and recent workform tracker into one and use indicators
Separating the Current & Recent workform trackers means you sometimes have to check both to regain access to a record quickly. There really is no need to separate them.
Modern systems indicate active records using a "dot" (think Mac OS, Windows 11, etc.). Combining the workform tracker into a single list would make access workforms in Leap faster.
PS I do acknowledge that some people would have a problem with a growing list of workforms showing. So an option to clear all inactive workforms would probably needed to be added in addition to the close all active workforms option.

Putting hindered holds more prominent so all holds get processed in a timely manner
There are lots of things that can go wrong with holds fulfillment. From things remaining too long in the RTF, to holds that were item specific, and now the item record has been deleted, holds on bibs where all items are restricted from filling bibs, holds where the item has been shipped months ago, holds where the volume-level hold information is incorrect.
While there are reports that some libraries run for this, those are not "front and center" in most workflows for ALL libraries to be aware of them and be taking action to handle them.
About the best solution…

Make it easier to filter the list of SQL Searches in Find Tool
We have dozens of SQL searches, however it can be hard to find them. They are presented in an alphabetical list, but over the years our naming isn't always consistent. It would be great if you could filter the name drop-down like you filter can in other areas of Leap.
So, for example, if I typed "volume" it would show many any SQL search with Volume in the name. Bonus points might be if we could also be searching some of the SQL search contents itself because maybe I want to find all SQL searches that query a particular field…

Allow searching by modification date
You should be able to search in the Find Tool by record modification date. So far I'm seeing this missing from Record Sets, Patron Accounts, etc.. This would make it easier to Find Records without having to resort to using SQL which makes it much more accessible to all staff.

Increase customizability of check out receipts, to include graphic or image
We have locations that would like greater options for customizing checkout receipts. In particular, they would like to add an image at the bottom -- a library logo, or a graphic version of the library name, or a periodically changeable "word bubble" graphic promoting upcoming activities at the library.

Links to Public Access Catalogs from Leap Item Records
In Leap, links to web-based public access catalogs are only available through bib records. It would be convenient if they can also be made accessible through item records.

Standard Address Number (SAN) Inconsistency
There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

Associate item info with collection agency charges
In our consortium, materials owned by any of our member libraries are shared for circulation by the other libraries. Only some of our libraries use a collection agency. When patrons pay for replacement of lost or damaged items, and any associated collection agency charges, we want to get that money to the library that owned the item. Sometimes we also need to confirm to a patron what the collection agency charge is related to.
Currently in SimplyReports' Patron Account reports, collection agency charges do not get associated with information from the items related to the charges. It would be handy…

Permission the volume field on item records
The volume field might seem straightforward, but when it's not standardized—or when anyone can input anything—it quickly becomes a source of frustration, especially with holds and sorting. Imagine a patron placing a hold on “Volume 2,” but one record says “v.2,” another says “Vol 2,” and another just “2”… chaos ensues.
Making that field permission-based could go a long way in preserving data consistency and reducing hold errors. It puts a bit more control in the hands of cataloging staff or system administrators

Custom cover images should show up in Leap
We use ChiliFresh as a source for cover images and we also use their service to upload custom images for missing covers, kits, etc. After the MARC record is updated with the custom image tag, the new image shows up in the PowerPAC immediately. However, it never shows up in Leap. Leap is already pulling images from ChiliFresh (as well as other sources) for the cover images in Leap's item and bib records. It's really weird that it doesn't pull from the same source to get the custom image attached to the record.

Automatically associate accounts when creating a new patron account with the Copy feature
I think it would be helpful to automatically create an association between accounts when creating a new account by copying an existing one, e.g., using a parent's account to create a child's account. The Block and Allow options should still be checked manually, though.
The association could be removed after account creation, if necessary.14 votes -
Patron Import Process (LEAP) leveraging patron templates
The new patron import process will be a major improvement for handling student data, but it still requires significant data formatting before uploading through LEAP. It would be incredibly helpful if libraries could create their own templates to define how data is mapped to specific CSV columns, including logic for assigning patron codes or populating fields like UDFs. This kind of flexibility would greatly reduce the staff time needed to prepare files for import.

Patron Import Process (LEAP) adding Polaris Username field
Adding the ability to add / update the Polaris username field as an alternative barcode for students/patrons would be hugely beneficial in the import process. This would allow us to have a student ID as a barcode and a former library barcode for patrons to use at the expresscheck.

Autowaive Fine for Returned Withdrawn Items
We would like, when items with a Withdrawn status are returned by patrons in a good enough condition to still circulate, for the replacement fees associated with the item to auto-waive in the same way that items with a Lost status can auto-waive. This would prevent confusion at the circulation desk and streamline the check-in process.

Make "Library Has" field manually editable.
When our library transitioned from Sierra to Polaris, our Sierra serial check-in cards could not be transitioned. We have several serials that go back decades. In order to make the "Library Has" field display correctly in Vega, I currently create a publication pattern that begins with the earliest issue. I can then either extrapolate check-in boxes and check in every single back issue (which is a huge pain in Leap, because issues can only be checked in one at a time), or I can skip to the most recent issue received after the transition. This works well in Vega, but…

When there is a blocking note on an account, a red square block appears like it does for an expired library card.
When a library card is expired a large red box appears on the screen to say the library card is expired. Can we get that same type of box for an account that has a balance and a Blocking note?

Comparing authority records in Leap
Similar to the compare feature for bibliographic records, please implement a compare feature for authority records. This would be helpful when editing authority records in Leap.

Compare bibs with an outside source - Leap
We would like the ability to compare bibliographic records in Leap with ones from an outside source, like z39.50. This is a key part of our cataloguing process and is a necessary piece to moving those staff members over to Leap.
