Tooltip/Info Bubble for Loan Rule Names
We've currently got 55 loan rules in Cincinnati. Not the most I've seen, but also not the least. At a certain point, it becomes difficult to remember, or better yet, know at a glance, their purpose & what loan rule governs what. The character limit to the name entry for loan rules limits how descriptive we can be.
A number of Sierra releases back saw the addition of the tooltip rollover when searching patron records. I'd love to see something similar applied, so when I'm scrolling & rolling over loan rules, I can see a 2 or 3 sentence free text description that offers enough detail to understand what in some cases are decades old rules.

As a consortia with a few hundred rules, this would be incredibly helpful to assist in managing the whole table.

This is a great idea. Anything that can make the process of loan rules less complicated. It could be used not just for Loan Rule description but you could put a note of Loan Rule Determiner rules that are using it to help figure out when you can mark a rule you are superseding to Inactive. (Sometimes our rules are the same for all patrons and others change based on patron and item type combinations). And I'm assuming this Tool Tip would be in the Table too, so when you export it you could see why you set something up the way you did a few years back in your Excel spreadsheet if it is outside of the normal workflows you usually use.

This would be so helpful! We have 71 loan rules. We try to name them in ways that make it clear what they are for but with loan period, audience, hold/renewal, etc. all being factors, it is complicated. We also have a number of rules no longer in use that it would be great to have notes on. Currently, I export these and save them in excel with an explanatory note every time I make a change but it would be so helpful to see some of that right in Sierra!
