Edition Info Availability - to not use “on order” if no items available and no open orders attached
If there are no circulating items available and there are no open orders attached, we would like the status in edition information to display as not available instead of on order. On order is confusing when there are no open orders attached to the bib.

Vega does not ingest Sierra or Polaris Purchase Order information. Vega only ingests Bibliographic records and attached item data.
The Material Type setting: Request Bibs With No Items that can be set to Allow/Don't Allow for each Material Type or Type of Material in your ILS is what controls a green Availability status of On Order when there are no items present on a displayed bib record. This toggle also controls whether or not a Place Hold Get It button displays when a bib of this Material Type or Type of Material has no items attached.

Yes, it's an issue for us particularly when we only have one item attached to a bib and that one item is missing/billed. We have debated whether to show items with missing status in our catalogue or suppress them from view.

This "on order" display has been a problem for us as well. We usually suppress item records that are getting withdrawn until we gather monthly statistics before batch deleting them. When no items are available, Vega seems to look for any attached order --even if that order was received years ago. I like this enhancement request but see a potential problem. We want our newly received orders to be available for placing holds even if item records have not been created yet.
