An error occurred while saving the comment Allison Kamm commentedThis would eliminate a lot of patron confusion if we could suppress the Place Hold button based on things like material types. There is already some material type mapping allowed, so it would be nice to add a hold button suppression column to it. Location codes and item types would also be helpful.

An error occurred while saving the comment Allison Kamm commentedA scoping type categorization could be used to not only group certain libraries together as Carolyn noted but would help group similar collections together. For example, our library staff like to do searches for picture books, which for our collection includes multiple location codes for each of our branches. For example, we have easy fiction, Caldecott winners, and board books. We had all these location codes scoped as "Picture Books" for easy access. We also had all of our juvenile collections scoped together in addition to a few other lumped together location codes. In Discover, staff find it cumbersome to filter results by "Location" to get the same results as they have to search for multiple locations to get the same results they would have gotten in WebPac by just selecting a scope. I suggest adding some type of scoping similar to the location hierarchy tool that can be including as a facet or facets. Then, allowing libraries to custom that facet so it works for their patrons and staff.

An error occurred while saving the comment Allison Kamm commentedCurrently, Sierra only allows the "Public View" of a bib record to direct you to one of the public catalogs. Libraries with Vega Discover and/or Encore have to choose between WebPAC or one of the more enhanced public catalogs. It would be nice to be able to view both to check how bib records are displaying, especially since Discover only updates once a day.

Or at the very least, prioritize our bib record summary versus our ingested eCollection records like OverDrive.
