Save patron name when deleted on holds to action
- Patron has a held item
- Held item is cancelled
- Then the patron record is deleted
- The hold on the holds to action will have no patron name shown.
This means that staff have no real way to know where their hold is on the hold shelf (holds are arranged on the shelf by patron name) to be removed. This was originally entered as a bug, but it was closed as a bug because it was working as designed.

Provide Payment Type Edit option after submission
When we apply customer payments in Polaris, staff select payment type from a customer (cash/check/CC). Payment type is recorded in payment reports to reconcile our credit card statements each month. Sometimes a person will mistakenly record a payment as cash when it should have been CC. Once recorded, a mistakenly selected payment type cannot be corrected in Polaris. It would save significant time if an edit/correction option was available.

mobile hotspot
This may not be the correct place for this. If so I apologize. I am gonna post it on the Phoenix CCC page as well.
We have a customer here who is down on the Mobile Hotspot queue. I have noticed that several of the people above him on the queue currently have hot spots checked out already. It doesn't seem fair that those customers will get to have their hotspots potentially another three weeks before this other customer gets to borrow it. Can there be some sort of limit set to not allow for simultaneous holds and checkouts for…

Add a permission to allow/prevent staff member override a hold and check out a Held item to a different patrony
Currently, Polaris allows all staff members to override a hold and check out a Held item to a different patron. We need a System Administrator (SA) permission to control this functionality. Our preference is to prevent staff from overriding holds, ensuring items are always checked out to the requesting patron.

Accessibility Needs for Leap Patron Registration
This is occurring in the Leap patron registration section. For accessibility purposes some of our staff tab through the patron registration and when hitting the zip code field and entering the zip, the select a city pop up box will appear showing multiple cities connected to that zip. The default spot for the tab to be at when this window appears is on the ok button, meaning none of the radio buttons have been selected yet. Then you must shift + tab and forward tab to eventually get to a radio button being highlighted. You can click the space bar…

New tabs from find tool in Leap
One piece of feedback we've gotten is that staff members who are used to the client miss the ability to open and rearrange a bunch of windows from the find tools (for side-by-side comparison, or just for managing workflows). We're wondering if this experience could be recreated by allowing the option to open multiple results in new tabs from the find tool in Leap.

Prevent patron's with expired cards from placing holds
Currently, our patrons can still place holds when their card is expired and then come in to get their hold and don't realize they need to verify their address so we can renew their card. Blocking patrons from placing holds until their card has been renewed and giving them a pop-up explaining that their card has expired, would be great.

Block non-owning libraries from waiving fines
It'd be nice if fines could be ineligible for being waived by staff from any library other than the owning library. In our consortia staff can waive any fine regardless of how much it is and what library it's from, this also goes for lost and damaged items on a patron's card. This can lead to staff just waiving fines that they shouldn't be waiving, or accidentally paying out lost/damaged items for another library, which we aren't supposed to do. Similar to how staff from other libraries can't update item details like call number, etc. for an item that doesn't…

Add a note when declaring an item lost on a customer account
When declaring an item lost on a customer account, there is no way to add more to the note on the resulting lost item charge. All that is in the note field is "Declared Lost". It is sometimes important to give more context to the charge and that is why being able to add a note would help!

Eliminate the barcode requirement for placing holds on on-order multivolume set records and serials
At this time, holds on the serials and multivolume set records are not functioning in an efficient manner when the title is not under serial control. Examples include manga, college guides, or test prep guides. In PowerPAC and Leap, patrons and staff cannot place volume level holds when the associated item is on order and does not have a barcode. It is not part of the staff's normal workflow to add a barcode to on-order items until the physical item arrives at the library. As long as a volume is in the volume field, Polaris should be able to identify…

Provide ability to edit payment method in Polaris patron accounts after submission
Sometimes staff select the the wrong payment method in Polaris when taking apply a payment from a customer (cash/check/CC). Once selected, inaccurate payment methods cannot be corrected in Polaris.
While leads spot and notate these errors on Polaris cash reports, our system-wide Finance dept uses these reports to reconcile our credit card statements each month. It happens often enough and across so many branches that it creates a lot of extra work on the back end to reconcile our credit card account. They are requesting III provide the ability to edit payment method in Polaris - this something that we…

Activate arrows on a keyboard
Whenever there are menus like "Yes", "no", "cancel", it would be nice to use arrows and enter buttons on a keyboard and not a mouse. Right now arrows don't work.
7 votesJust a quick note that because these are button elements, you can tab or shift+tab to move forwards and backwards between the options.

Change status of staff holds without check-in
In my staff duties, I am often putting a hold on an item that will be moved to in-repair for re-cataloging. Currently, I have to place a hold with my staff card and, when the item is held, I must check it in before I can change the status to in-repair. There are even more steps when the item is assigned to a different branch and wants to automatically transfer on check-in. Then I have to change the assigned branch as well.
When the item is held on a Staff account, it would be very helpful to be able to…7 votes -
Adding Shelf Check Requests to the Picklist
In our system of 33 branch locations, we often receive system-wide email requests to complete checks of the stacks for items customers claim to have returned but that are still on their accounts.
It would be helpful if Item Records had an additional "Action" option that allowed staff to select "Request Shelf Check". The item would then populate on every branch's picklist with a unique icon next to it, and there would be a checkbox at the top of the list, similar to "INN-Reach Only", that would allow staff to narrow the list to what was shelf check requested by…

Add Global Search to Leap UI to locate features
There are SOO many features and so much functionality in Leap, but sometimes it is hard to find them.
Today, I was looking for the Patron Import feature in Leap 7.8, I couldn't find it. Turns out it is under Background Processing.
This request to add a Feature Search to Polaris that is present across several websites and applications that allow you to search by typing part or all of a feature name and allows to you find that without having to dig through a bunch of Menus.

Add a shortcut to print out patron barcode in Leap
When staff opens a patron's record, add a shortcut feature that allows them to print out patron barcodes. This will really help when someone comes in and don't have their library card with them, so wants to get their barcode information

Saving Registrations in Leap
My library is on Leap 7.6 and we have a problem when our staff is setting up new registrations. The “Save” button is right next to the “Cancel” button and when you accidently hit cancel there is no “Are you sure” pop up or something similar. We would love for this to be fixed! We've had to redo way to many patron accounts!

Show workstation and staff information for posted patron notices
When some notice types are posted, they show up in the item record history. But not all notices show up there, for example, printed hold notices do not show up there. It is also difficult, for example, if you want to find out who printed a fine notice to be able to locate that information because it isn't always tied to an item record.
This request is to add to the notice history information on the user and workstation that posted the notices to the database. There is very miniscule information in the notice history already.
This additional information would…

Allow libraries to reset staff accounts that are locked out
There are a few scenarios where staff don't remember their exact password and get themselves locked out of LEAP: they are adjunct staff who work infrequently, they have just returned from a long vacation, or simply have brain freeze. In these cases, they open a support ticket, and I would like to be able to reset their account so that they can log in immediately, the same way I can now clear an object lock on an item that someone needs to use. Thanks for considering!

Improve Visual UI of Leap screens
Many screens in Leap are awash with 1px borders, which make it difficult to visually distinguish different areas of the system because of the "noise".
While there are lots of ares for UI improvement across Leap, this one might be an easy win, as shown in the side by side screenshots.
