  1. It would be nice if from the staff side in Polaris and LEAP we could select whether to notify the patron if an item they placed on hold gets cancelled. Sometimes we have to cancel holds for various reasons and LEAP is often faster in notifying the patron with no context when their request was cancelled which can cause confusion for the patron. Staff should get the option of whether a patron gets notified or not and if possible, if we could have the option to add a message to the cancel notification they get.
    Relatedly, patrons should get a…

  2. On an item record, you can currently only see the information about the current borrower and the most recent previous borrower. This should be increased to at least 3, so that in the case of a question about condition or missing parts, we have more than 1 patron we can ask.

  4. In the client we are able to create multiple new item records at the same time and we would like this functionality in LEAP as well.

  5. Currently the preview screen in Client and the Bibliographic level statistics screen in Leap provides circulation by Owning Branch. It would be more helpful in determining where a title is popular (and more useful for acquisitions) to have this data based on Loaning Branch. Use on a specific copy would still be accessible on the item record. If circulation by loaning branch can't be provided there, having it accessible elsewhere from the Bib record would be great.

  6. When using the filter box in a Leap workform (for example, in Reading History, Out, holds or really anywhere you have ability to filter a view), please add an indicator of how many items are caught in the filter. For ex. a customer has 85 items checked out and wants to know how many DVDs they still have out. Typing DVD into filter reduces the list but doesn't tell you how many DVDs there are. The only option is count them.

  7. We already have the option in 7.6 to export print, phone, and TXT notices via the native Polaris admin settings. The only format that cannot be exported is email.

    It would make notices integrations to third-party and other hosted solutions more accessible and easier to maintain if the same functionality were supported for all notification methods.

  8. Dark mode is preferred by many users due to lower brightness and less eye strain, as well as less screen glare. Support Dark Mode for Leap!

  9. Leap should force logout when browser/browser tab is closed. Forcing a logout at browser/browser tab close would ensure that any open editable records are closed out as well.

  10. When checking-in an issue of a Professional serial, Leap will give a notification that a route list exists for that title. Leap will not link the new issue to the route list or print the list. Currently, my library has to use staff client when checking in Professional serials. It would be very helpful if this feature would be added to Leap.

  12. In Leap Serials, the ability to select multiple issues and then click check in is needed for large libraries to use Leap Serials, exclusively. The workflow of selecting each individual issue and then clicking check in is slow and tedious.

  13. Opening Day Collection orders are created when large numbers of new books and videos are needed to either create an entirely new collection for a branch or to partially replace a collection. Large orders tend to produce large quantities of invoices; for this reason, streamlining all possible aspects of invoice payments is essential to help expedite payments for these orders. It would be very helpful to all libraries if Polaris offered functionality to assign a specific cataloging fund to Opening Day Collection orders. The new functionality would save libraries significant labor when paying invoices for these orders without affecting regular…

  14. I realize this is niche, but if you go to set up SSO in your environment, heaven help you. My crew just got through a week of getting things set up. There were 3 of my employees and at least 1 Innovative support staff and 1 Innovative dev involved all week. I can't imagine the amount of $$$ that was burned in hourly staff time getting it going. And of course the good news is that an upgrade or server move could break it all again! Some of the documentation is wrong and some of the transcribing of the data…

  15. When a patron's registered branch is updated via Leap but their existing patron code is not available at the new branch, Leap assigns the first patron code alphabetically by default. The Polaris client, by contrast, applies the default patron code for the new registered branch. Please follow the patron registration default patron code for that location in Leap, as happens today in the Polaris client.

  16. When I browse in the PAC (specifically, by call number) it provides a list of call numbers. I can choose one, and am brought to it. But, if I want to look at the neighboring items, I have to "Go back to Browse Results" and select the next one from the list. It would be much easier to arrow back/forward between results without returning to the results list.

  17. If there is an issue with a scheduled Simply Reports job, it must be rerun manually. This includes problems with the SQL Job Polaris scheduling executive. For example, if one report takes longer than 30 minutes to run, the scheduling executive won't allow another instance of that SQL job to start, causing reports to be missed. Additionally, reports can be missed if the server is offline for a variety of reasons including during upgrades. Simply Reports should check the last run date for the report and reschedule it if the elapsed time is greater than the scheduled interval.

  19. I'm guessing Leap being web-based makes this difficult to outright impossible but a warning sound effect for Leap's modal alerts would be nice.

    Something like:

    var audio = new Audio('audio_file.mp3');
    audio.play();

    Assuming alerts in leap use Bootstrap's modal function calling the audio function after the shown.bs.modal trigger fires might work.
