Check for Due Slip Delivery Method Change Before Closing Patron Record
Currently, Sierra goes by the delivery method selected before the last item is scanned, instead of when a user clicks the Close button. Having recently changed to not automatically print due slips, we are still working on asking patrons their preference before scanning items, but will often forget until all items have been scanned, which is too late. The workaround of using the Print Table option is less than ideal, as it doesn't follow our print template for Due Slips. As far as my knowledge goes, it also completely cuts staff off from the option to email the due slip to patrons.
Idea Value
Very busy staff and volunteers will have some much-needed flexibility with regard to providing proper due slips for patrons, and patrons have an extended opportunity to change their mind about how they would like to get their due notice.

I like this idea of prompting staff before closing the record rather than defaulting to the preference of the staff login, but think it would be even cooler if the system remembered the patron's preference as another Sierra user has suggested (related idea: https://ideas.iii.com/forums/951745-ils-sierra/suggestions/46447000-remember-patron-preference-about-receipts)

E.g. having a pop-up ask "Print | Email | No receipt" once staff click Close?
