We have had an issue where a patron was overcharged for an item on loan. Being able to import the actual price into the INN-Reach record would prevent this mistake from happening in the future.

Since we don't have access to the prices in temporary records, the patron could end up paying the wrong amount for a billed INN Reach item.

The current generic default cost leads to patrons being overcharged for items with values significantly below the default. For instance, our default book cost is $25. Consequently, if a patron pays online without contacting their library, they could pay $25 for a paperback that the owning library values at only $7.99.

I'm moving this enhancement to the INN-Reach section. Right now, the D2IR APIs that the Polaris/INN-Reach integration use do not include any prices. From the Polaris side, we'd need the INN-Reach system to accept, store, and pass the item price in order to populate it in the temporary item records.
