Automate Placing Item-Level Holds on All Editions in Rollup Before the Request Fails
Vega currently blocks item-level requests where one location attached does not lend the items, even though other locations will. The items that do not ILL are causing Vega to fail the request. This forces the patron to click the request button for all the editions/locations in the rollup until they find a library that will ILL the item.
Eliminate that painful patron experience by having Vega do that work for them. This should be set at the Consortium level as it is not an issue in the Collection Sites.

This is extremely inconvenient for the patron. Most will not click the request button until they find a library that will fulfill the request. By implementing this change patrons will be able to request the items they want easily and quickly thus improving the patron's library experience.

I recommended enabling item-level requests within Vega to enhance user experience. Vega's restricting item-level requests where a location that does not ILL an item does not facilitate lending and diminishes the user experience.
By implementing changes at the Consortium level, Vega can streamline this process, alleviating the burden on patrons.

This would be extremely valuable for us in our consortium because our patrons can access materials across 50+ libraries. A patron would not know which libraries in the County will ILL a specific item so having to weed through each holding is a frustrating process. It would be a time-saver in getting the material into the hands of the patrons and greatly improve the customer service ILL experience.

The current behavior is incredibly inconvenient to patrons, and most patrons will not repeat the request process until they find success. This will limit access, even though the patrons do have access to the resources.
