  1. We would like to enhance /PolarisAdmin (Web Admin) so that leading and trailing spaces are automatically trimmed from the Username and External ID fields upon entry.

    Problem Statement
Currently, if administrators accidentally enter a username or external ID with a leading or trailing space, it is saved as entered. This creates login and authentication issues for end users, since the system considers the space a part of the credential. This can be difficult to troubleshoot and frustrating for both administrators and end users.

This is especially likely to happen when copying/pasting from certain user management platforms.

    Proposed Enhancement
    Automatically strip…

  2. In our system we have different Patron Codes for different ages. This allows us to differentiate services in the library to patrons of different ages. Occasionally, during the registration process (we exclusively use Leap) staff will forget to assign the correct Patron Code based on the new patron's age. If the system was able to auto-assign Patron Codes based on the inputted Birthdate, it would greatly reduce human error.

  3. When you are adding an account or changing information on an account and the system detects a duplicate, it won't let you proceed. However, it won't give you any information on the conflict account.

It would be super helpful to have the conflicting ID shown in the popup message to make tracking down the other account easier.

Especially if the dup happens to be because of something weird like a space or non-printable character.

This seems to happen more as locations move to SSO and fill in their external ID field.

  4. When dealing with missing/damaged/canceled orders, we start at the Bib record and link over to the attached POs/Invoices. Right now in LEAP we have to start with the PO or Invoice, which we often don't know when we have the book in hand. I'd like to be able to link from the Bib Record to either Purchase Orders or Invoices or both.

  6. Currently printing receipts from the Leap web app is unideal, requiring either significant manual intervention from the user or extensive browser tweaks to get it operable. A background desktop client (similar to JSPrintManager) could handle the printing far better than the browser does natively.

  8. Many of our patrons are on autopilot when checking out their materials at our expresschecks. There are times patrons while scanning, accidentally scan the wrong barcode (isbn barcode) rather than our libraries' created barcodes for checkout. Staff in our library system have requested there be a way to differentiate barcode scanning sounds of a normal checkout beep to some sort of indicator/sound letting the patron know something is wrong in the checkout process.

  9. When staff log out of Leap at the end of their shift, Microsoft prompts them to sign out of their Microsoft account. I think it confuses staff, they click on the prompt and then they get logged out of their Microsoft account. They then have to log back in and due to MFA need to get a code to log back in. This isn't ideal.
Customer support said currently this behavior is how Leap with OAuth/SSO works. Leap uses the identity provider to control the login and logout when setup with OAuth/SSO. Can you place an enhancement request to see…

  11. It would be very useful for patron notes to automatically include date and time - this would allow us to track "updates" to progressive situations with patrons that multiple staff are addressing.

  12. Currently to use SMTP the account has to support basic authentication which is not secure and is being deprecated by Microsoft for Azure accounts. In the next few months, Microsoft will be enforcing MFA on Azure accounts in phases and the only way around that for things like SMTP is to use OAuth. Since the current version does not allow OAuth authentication for SMTP, this will cause notification services that use email to stop functioning.

Allowing the option to use OAuth to authenticate SMTP would resolve this issue and allow users with Microsoft Tenants to continue using notification services.

  14. It would be great to have an option to go back and view recent search history or search results in the find tool in Leap. I often close out of a search too soon and realize I need to go back for more information, or realize that I actually had the results I needed two searches ago.
Being able to quickly view recent search results rather than constructing the whole search again would save a lot of time.

  15. Making LEAP more accessible and usable for everyone is key to system-wide adoption. I know LEAP can be finicky when display and text scaling and zoom levels are beyond 100%. But improving support for larger text would be a game-changer for many! I have a couple suggestions that I think could make a big difference:

    1. Support zoom and text resize beyond 100% throughout LEAP, especially with the Find Tool, so users with vision needs can actually read the text. This small enhancement would be huge!

    2. Perform a VPAT and implement recommendations. This will uncover ways to improve overall accessibility per…

  17. We currently run our lost and not paid reports under Patron Account > Patron Account List Reports in SimplyReports. Because shelf-location is not an output option, we manually enter it for each item in order for our shelvers to more easily complete shelf-checks. Can "shelf-location" be added as a report output option?

  18. When you are using the general filters in SimplyReports, the record set list includes record sets that have been deleted. I'd like to either have the deleted record sets excluded or have a check box that allows you to exclude them.

  19. In the client, duplicate detection for MARC records is triggered by (re)saving the record, but can also be triggered separately as an action under the Tools menu. In Leap, resaving the record is the only way to trigger the function. This means cataloguers have to do a fake edit in order to un-grey-out the save button and click past any other functions, such as MARC validation, before they can get to the matching record(s).

Having duplicate detection as a separate function (maybe under Actions or as a button in the MARC view) would save cataloguers time and extra clicking.

  20. Our Collection Development librarians would like to be able to quickly look down the list of bibliographic and item search results and see ISBNs. Right now, this is not available as a column so they have to click on each record and open it to see the ISBN.
If there are multiple ISBNs in a record, the find tool could just display the first one.
This would save our Collection Development staff a lot of time in their searches.
