Ability to place holds on all items in a record set
From time to time, we have need to place all items on a record set on hold to call them in for a specific purpose. It would be great to have the ability to select all or some items within a record set and click a place hold button and then have the option to move the request for each of these items to the top of queue.
Idea Value
This would make functions so much faster and easier. For example, right now, I need to place item level holds on a couple dozen checked out items to inspect them for defects upon return, before they go out to the next customer.

This would be really helpful for my staff that select books for homebound and outreach patrons.

Handy for weeding from a record set.

We have multiple state book awards and their nominees go on a special shelf every year. As the nominees change over, we create record sets to bulk change the items and edit notes so that they can return to their regular shelf. Items are pulled from the shelf to have tape and labels removed. Items that are currently checked out when that happens need to be placed on hold (20 nominees per award, multiple copies of each title) - it gets tedious. It would be awesome if we could select items from a record set and place holds on every item selected at once.

You can do all the items in an item record set: From the patron status, initiate a hold request. Click on the Find button. In the Find Tool, change the Object to Item Records and the Search by to Record Set ID. Enter the Record Set ID and click Search. In the results, select all the items and press Enter. Save the Request.
You need to know the Record Set ID to do this and it only works with Item Record Sets. And you do it from the Patron record, not the record set which isn't ideal. My catalogers use it all the time and even branch staff use it for projects now. -
