Polaris 7.7 - Make 'non-blocking' circulation blocks optional
Many of the blocks that pop-up during transactions at the circulation desk are more informational than related to rules. Separating 'blocking blocks' (patron is over the fines threshold) from 'informational blocks' (patron has a hold available) and making the latter optional would help libraries improve accuracy and efficiency at the circulation desk.
Idea Value
Having unnecessary blocks popping up during circulation transactions takes staff and patron time and trains staff to click past blocks without reading them closely, making it more likely that important messages will be missed and ruled will be overridden. Giving libraries the option to include or exclude informational blocks, would allow them to better prioritise the large amount of information circulation staff have to wade through.

This improvement is critical for libraries. This would improve workflows, save staff & patron time, and is essential for hold lockers.

This is needed for holds locker workflows as well!

Our staff currently have a rant going on Teams about how you get a warning message "Patron has one held item at (branch), do you still want to check out?" when actually checking out the held book.

The RFID comment Matthew made is key. If you are running separate RFID software in the background it is very easy to miss the first item due to this block.

I have been wondering how to word my request for this exact thing. Thank you.

We would like the option to disable the block popup patrons get who have holds through Leap, or possible stop holds from creating a block on patrons records that cause the popup
Idea Value
When checking out items for a patron who has holds the first item is missed sometimes when using RFID when the popup comes up as the scanner picks up the second item.
