  1. We would like to be able to have more options for configuring the Hold Pickup Slip. Our current hold pickup slip is printed using an older piece of Bibliotheca RFID software that is no longer supported. The software allows us to configure the position, orientation and font size of each element on the hold slip. We are also able to select the number of characters to print for each of those elements, for example, first 3 characters of the last name, first character of the first name, etc.

  2. Currently the default option is to charge the patron when doing a damaged item check-in (see screenshot). We would like the default to either be changed to NOT charge the patron, or we would like to be given the option to choose the default ourselves so we can change it to what we want just for our consortium.

Currently, when a patron selects a library for a hold in the PAC and Pickup Areas are enabled, the default option is "None" which might not make as much sense to them, and they might think they have to select one of the other options (if there are any). Can "None" be changed to something more intuitive like "Walk-in" or "Inside" or "Regular"?

  5. We would like there to be an option to add a note when resolving lost item charges, processing fees, and overdue fees when checking in a Lost item. Currently, if we want to add a note when waiving processing fees or overdue fees, we have to first charge the fees, then go to the patron record and waive from there after the fact, just so we can add the notes. It would be much easier if we could add the notes right on the screen that pops up (see screenshot).

  6. Having patrons blocked from placing holds if there account is blocked is greatly needed, as patrons can currently place holds through Leap, Vega, Mobile App even if they are blocked for having too many fines.

  7. I would like to be able to limit new items to be available only to a specific branch (Library at Home/ Outreach for example) but only for a specific time frame. We have this functionality for a library level, but not branch.

  8. When you are in the Request Manager on Leap, it is possible to select multiple titles and then cancel them all at once - there is no additional confirmation.

    This bulk action can be hard to undo.

    It would be helpful to have a warning dialog box pop-up when staff are attempting this bulk action. Also labelling the "proceed" button as "Cancel Holds" would be helpful as an extra step to ensure that staff are taking the proper action.

  13. In Picklist, when you click deny next to a checked INN-Reach item, it disappears from the picklist. If the item is being denied because it was not on the shelf, we need a way to mark it as missing but can't get back to it when it disappears.

  14. When libraries within our consortium borrow and lend items among each other, they send those items through the mail. Currently, they have to manually look up each other's mailing addresses (many times by Googling which isn't always accurate). It would save staff time and reduce errors if a library's mailing address could be included on the In-Transit Slips.

    This would also allow for libraries to ensure the requesting library has their 'preferred' mailing address if an item needs to be returned to a location other than the owning library. For example, if a Main Library processes holds for its smaller…

  15. Often library staff place requests on specific items and need to follow-up when the item is returned (check condition, re-label, compare copies of title, replace, discard, etc.). Our previous ILS supported a hold notes field that would display the saved note when the item was checked out. This reminded staff of why they had requested the item, or would let another staff member know what needed to be done with the item when the hold was filled.   17. I propose an enhancement to the SIP2 protocol: including the "PA[PickupAreaDescription]" extension in the Item Info response (18). Currently, this valuable extension is only available in the check-in response. The key issue with the current setup is that when systems attempt a check-in to obtain the "PA" value, the check-in process completes, which can prematurely finalize item handling without allowing the system to decide if a check-in should be initiated based on the item's status or location.

In System>Parameters>Notification>Notification Options>Overdue & Bill, I would like to see the "Include Claimed Items" broken out into individual notification options for Claims Returned, Claims Never Had, and Missing Part. As of now, if this option is selected, notices will go out for all or nothing regarding these claims. I would like to only send notices for Missing Part items and not the other two. My reasoning is I do not want to continue to send notices for items I consider "resolved" when a patron says they returned something or that they never had it. However, I do want to continue…

  19. The multiple holds feature in Leap is really nice - unless you want to make sure that a bib you're selecting is actually the thing you want, the need for a preview option has been suggested in another Idea Exchange submission.

    Another common use for multiple holds is creating what we at DPL call "Teacher Sets" where staff pull a bunch of topical items based on criteria provided by a teacher, place holds on them and then check them in to fill those requests and contact the customer.

  20. When sorting by a column, then choosing an item and hitting located, it resets the sort back to the default.

    This is not ideal at our larger locations who may be pulling dozens of items at a time.
