Allow patron to set thaw date of frozen holds
Allow patrons to set a thaw date when freezing holds. Patrons often forget they froze holds and the hold lingers until it expires. Also, make this information available in the API for third party vendors, such as discovery layers.
In accordance with the Idea Graduation Workflow guidelines agreed upon by Innovative and IUG, this idea has been closed because it was submitted more than two years ago and has not been selected for inclusion in the product.

This would be useful. We have too much frozen (and probably forgotten) holds on the hold queues.

@jonathan Currently the Hold API for Sierra only allows for the changing of a hold pickup location and whether or not the hold is frozen....well or just cancelling the hold entirely. So that limits the ability of third party systems like Aspen to take other actions.

I thought Aspen allowed patrons to set a thaw date, but it doesn't seem to. Perhaps because Sierra doesn't allow it?

Vega Discover allows you to check a box with "I don't need this item after..." Of course, this won't help you if you have Classic/Encore, but another incentive to upgrade to Vega.
