  1. Our libraries have requested that the "circ date" from the classic catalog be also displayed in Vega. As displayed in the screenshots, what the catalog calls the "circ date" is actually the last activity date in the item record in Polaris. This way staff and patrons know when an item last went in transit or enroute to a patron or was checked in/out. Ideally, it could either display in the Edition information area or in the Location drawer (both pictured in screenshots below).

  3. We have noticed that in several places the second and third words start with a capital letter even though we have written the words in lowercase letters in the translation file. For Swedish (and more languages), it looks very strange when every word in a phrase or sentence begins with a capital letter.

    Some examples:
    "publisherInformation": "Information om utgivare", in Vega Information Om Utgivare

    "audience|general": "Allmän målgrupp", in Vega Allmän Målgrupp

    "audience|juvenile": "Barn och ungdom (0–15 år)", in Vega Barn Och Ungdom

    "audience|pre-adolescent": "Äldre barn (9–13 år)", in Vega Äldre Barn

    "audience|preschool": "Yngre barn (0–5 år)", in Vega Yngre Barn

  4. Currently, when you renew an item, your checked out date updates to the date you renewed. Patrons have asked that it show the original check out date. So an item checked out originally in November and renewed in December would show the new due date, renewals remaining, and the original due date (not the date item was renewed). I suppose it could show renewal date, so long as original checkout date was available to see somewhere on the account (patron view).

  5. We would like to have the option to suppress the patron's holds position in the queue from displaying. We don't have it display in our current PAC and we don't want it to display in Vega either due to it being misleading since the algorithm prioritizes a library's own patrons first which often changes the order.

  6. This message appears when trying to freeze a reserved material that is in transit or has already arrived at the reservation shelf. Our Vega is in Swedish so we wish that this message can translate to Swedish and other languages.

  7. Right now, our library has to go through multiple steps to see useful information (like table of contents) or cannot see some detailed information (such as bib notes that we use to give customers/staff additional information about titles.)

    For example, when someone clicks on a title, you then have to select the “i” to display the item’s listings, and then click again to see an items table of contents. It would make the most sense for everything that is in the details, be included in that initial edition display.

    And similarly, we are not able to see the item’s 500a…

  8. Our customers want the ability to export their reading history. There should be options in the format it comes out in, including csv/excel.

    They want this because they keep their own records due to our titles getting deleted after withdrawal, so their Vega list is no longer accurate for all their reading.

  9. When editing the Manage Translations strings, it would be helpful to know where we could look at the context for strings and/or confirm that a change was implemented.

    For example, there are various "GET IT" strings, such as:
    "getFromAmazon": "Get from Amazon",
    "getIt": "GET IT",
    "getItBtn": "get it",
    "getItem": "Get Item",
    "getMaterial": "Get Material",
    "holdGetIt": "Get It"

    It would be helpful to have clarity on where/the context in which each of these is used.

  10. Super frustrating to not be able to create a book list for displays or patrons needing a large amount of materials on a certain subject, and also not being able to easily print the list with the call number included. If there is an easier way to do this, please help me out: leticiag@harvard-diggins.org

  13. This will allow us to directly link to a sign in page from our website rather than send them to catalog where they need to click login again. It was something we had in the Polaris PowerPAC. It also helped with e-sources since some of these databases require validation and it would need somewhere to send them to login.

  14. Patrons replace library cards frequently. They get lost or damaged. Patrons move from one home library to another within the system. Patrons get a new card when libraries offer new designs.

  16. We would like a refinement facet that uses the ITEM LEVEL "material types" from Polaris that are more specific than the current bib level Types of Material used in the Format Facet.

  17. I still feel this is sort of a bug, but I'm going to try submitting an idea.

    When logged in: You can click on any link in "My Bookshelf" to expand it, but you can only collapse it by clicking either the down arrow or the "My Bookshelf" tab. When on another tab such as "Bookmarks, Saved Searches, or Reading History", I feel that clicking on these tabs should also collapse the My Bookshelf back to the bottom.

    When not logged in: Clicking any link in the "My Bookshelf" will expand it but clicking "My Bookshelf" no longer collapses it…

  18. We often re-use images for our Vega home page, specifically the Hero, and there is no way to quickly access those images - you are forced to upload again and again. For example, maybe we opt to promote/use one of our Hero images every 3 months for a particular service. When you go to promote that service again, you have to try and find the artwork you stored locally again, upload. It seems like this could be store somewhere, maybe make it optional when you upload to keep/store the file (so you could say "no" for something that is a…

  19. When I check to see how many copies of an Overdrive title the library has, you can only see how many holds have been placed on that title, but not how many copies there are. This causes confusion because it seems like the library has no copies of that title. In the attached picture example, you can see that the 'Atomic Habits' eAudiobook has 48 holds on it, but it says there are no copies. There are actually 5 copies. This issue is true with every Overdrive title, except for when the title is available to check out.

  20. Most OverDrive titles beginning with an article (The, A, An) do not rollup properly due to Metadata not identifying a skip on these characters. As a main feature of Discover, it is frustrating that such a large amount of titles do not rollup with properly cataloged physical materials.
