Display More Note (5XX) Fields
Note fields include useful information that is meant to be displayed to users. This information helps users decide if the resource described is relevant to their needs.
A subtitle that appears only on the cover of a book might only appear in a 500 note. A note might specify that a resource is a reprint of an earlier publication or give the original title of a translation, just to name a few examples.
Most notes are repeatable, so all instances of these MARC fields should display when there are multiple. Currently, only the first 505 (Contents note) displays.
MARC 500…

Disable Vega Discover Cookie Prompt for Kiosk Sites
As of May 8th, 2024, Patrons at Vega Discover Kiosks which run in incognito mode are now presented with a greyed-out screen with a small white cookie banner at the bottom. For patron privacy, best practice for any Kiosk deployed in a public space calls for the erasure of all browser cache and cookies at the end of the kiosk session. For a walk-up session, there is no clear instruction as to what action needs to be taken to get to the full site, clicking a small "x" in the lower right corner is neither intuitive nor accessible. This prompt…

Increase Access Controls for Vega Discovery
Please add the ability for libraries to add their own permission groups with specific level of controls set by administrators, or build more granular permission groups. Currently, administration level access is required to do many of the features explained to us for showcase approves and Vega Homepage displays.
We do not want to give all of our librarians "admin" level and "staff" is not high enough to make our day to day work possible.

Display the Full Title (245) including Statement of Responsibility
Displaying the full title (245) including the statement of responsibility (subfield ǂc) will help users identify additional contributors associated with a title.
There are also sometimes additional titles within this part of the field. Subfield ǂc includes all information following the first slash.
Examples:
The point less taken / ǂc Geoffrey Young. Some trees / Lucas Reiner.
Shock shop. ǂn Volume one, ǂp Something in the woods, in the dark / ǂc written by Cullen Bunn ; art by Danny Luckert ; letters by Nate Piekos of Blambot. Familiars / written by Cullen Bunn ; art by Leila Leiz ;…

Include wildcard search option or browse option for call number searching
Currently call number searching only works if you search a call number exactly and in its entirety. Ideally, one should be able to do a browse search or use a wild card in a call number search

Scheduling Vega Homepage Layouts
Vega Homepage Layouts are an excellent way to communicate with our patrons based on spotlighting showcases, new collections, as well as upcoming programs.
Although this takes a lot of manual intervention whenever a change needs to be made. We'd love the ability to schedule Vega Homepage layouts for future months. Example: Saving Monthly Vega Showcases based on our libraries future focused campaigns (Summer reading, poetry month, heritage months, etc.).

Display ALL series
Vega only displays the first series tag (490, 800|t, 830) in a bibliographic record. There are many scenarios where a title may have multiple series tags for good reason. ALL series tags should display. A work may be titled the Boxcar children collection 3 and contain various volumes of the Boxcar children series, each tagged individually. To only display the first series tag (vol. 89) is misleading. There are also many instances of a popular numbered series also being part a publisher genre series (example for Iced by Felix Francis: Francis novels ; bk. 10 and Thorndike Press large print…

Ability to remove a title from My Reading History
Patrons would like to be able to remove a title from their reading history. (one by one ideally, though in a batch using check marks would work). Sometimes patrons borrow something and never get the time to read it and/or change their minds and never read it...

Select Order of Facets in Refine Panel Display
Allow Libraries to select the order that the facets display in the Refine panel of the search results. Ordering should be allowed at the Main and Site Levels. Main Vega Discover facet order should cascade to the sites unless overridden by a site level configuration.
Some facets are really important to searching and should be ranked higher. For us the format is the most important facet. That may not be true everywhere. Consortia are more concerned with collecection and location, so we need to have the ability to organice the facets as we could in Encore

Include all contributors in expanded detail display
Include additional contributors in the expanded details display for the individual manifestations (MARC 700), this is especially important when multiple versions are rolled up together.
Currently, all added contributors for all versions are displayed at the bottom of the page of the roll-up and it is hard to find and identify specific translations or audio-book narrators. This also results in a work with multiple authors only having the first one recognized48 votes -

Add 028 to Indexed Identifiers
This field is used for publisher’s/distributor’s numbers for video recordings, sound recordings (including audiobooks), and printed music. These numbers are important access points for these materials.
All 028 fields should be indexed, regardless of indicators.

Allow SMS notification signup from Vega
Right now, Vega does not support signup for SMS notifications. We are having to link people out to the old Webpac signup screen. We would love to have SMS signup available in Vega. this is one of the biggest requests we get from our libraries.

Fully display bibliographic description
Currently, only partial of the bibliographic description is displayed in the Location Drawer Item Details due to either character limit and/or predetermined select subfields. The full description needs to be displayed to include additional content from $e of the 300.

Index genre headings
We have several customers that use genre headings (655 field) to find materials. For example, "video recordings for the hearing impaired" helps deaf and hard-of-hearing customers locate DVDs with closed captioning. This is not a searchable field in Vega and there does not seem to be a way to find this information anywhere on the record.

Ability to create custom rollup rules
Add the ability to add local rules to assist titles/formats in rollups.
For example, a Vega library could create a rule that says Overdrive ebooks / eaudios can still rollup with physical materials even if the Overdrive MARC records lack a 245$b (subtitle) but the physical title MARC records contain a 245$b.
