  1. In Vega, we can email saved lists/bookmarks to our emails, but that generates a link and if you try to print the list, it only prints what you are looking at, not the whole list.

    It would be very helpful to be able to print the whole saved list.

  2. Permanent link to Vega records. When records are changed, the Vega ID changes and thus the link changes resulting in broken links. Please create permanent links for Vega records that aren't affected by changes to the item or bib records in Polaris.

Patrons using laptops with smaller display resolutions are finding the limited height of the account display frustrating, as they can only see one item at a time and scrolling via touchpad can be difficult. Many have asked if an option to extend the display to cover the full height of the screen could be made available.

  6. It would be helpful to display due date(s) for item(s) in the location drawer. This would enable staff and patrons to see this info in one step when they select the item's location.

  8. We need to be able to search by song title when searching for music cds or for sheet music books.
    It also its hard not be able to see the track listing for compilation albums (the Now cds for instance).
    We have patrons complain about this weekly.

  9. Patrons currently lack the ability to add or modify the "username" field value (Polaris Registration field with Polaris) in Vega Discover. Historically, patrons had this capability, but after updating to Vega Discover, we disabled it due to its non-editable nature. However, due to significant feedback from patrons, we have re-enabled this feature. Please note that enabling it now requires manual IT intervention through SQL adjustments. Once we transition to a hosted environment, this manual adjustment will no longer be feasible. Therefore, it's crucial for patron access to our catalog, public machines, and express check that this functionality remains intact.

When a patron gets no results and gets either the "did you mean?" or the search tips pages, would like a way to include some customized links to other options/services we offer, for example, our Interlibrary Loan and our Book Match services. Many patrons have no idea that if we don't own a title, we can get it for them via ILL. Or if they are just searching on a topic and not getting anything, perhaps our Book Match service may do the trick. Or just to tell users to speak with a reference librarian.

  12. 600 Subject added entry - personal name headings are currently displaying as Contributors/Persons. This is making it difficult to find additional resources ABOUT a person. When the person appears in the Subject field, they are not really a contributor, they are the Subject. Displaying these headings as Contributors is confusing. I believe this is on the roadmap but it would be nice to see this addressed sooner than later.

We have several multi-volume titles (graphic novels, travel guides, etc.) along with Library of Things title records that involve varying items owned by the same library requiring different call numbers and we’re finding some instances of Vega showing call number information of different copies depending on window of a rollup (main title work rollup, “Find a Copy” window, when clicking a specific library in list after clicking on “Find a Copy”) resulting in some confusion of library members and patron. To be consistent across at least the first two windows would be helpful. Please see attached for example.

  14. We would like to have shelf location added as a facet in Vega in addition to collections. We use shelf locations for genres like Mystery, Urban Fiction, Science Fiction, and Graphic Novels that aren't reflected in our collection codes. There is currently no way for patrons to search by shelf location in Vega, so it's very frustrating for patrons trying to look for just Graphic Novels, for example. We would rather have shelf locations added as a facet than have to change all of our shelf locations to collections.

  15. We have had a few customers report that when they open their My Bookshelf on a laptop they can't see their entire bookshelf. When they open in a new tab or new window it doesn’t display optimally either. You can control and – to make the screen smaller, but then you can't actually read what's on your bookshelf. They know you can use the toggles but you can't see all your holds or checkouts at once.

  18. Most patrons probably don't add apostrophes when searching (some do, some don't). We suggest it be taken out as a variable effecting the search results in basic search. In advanced search it can be included exactly as typed, but for the basic search it may do more harm than good. Please see the attached examples.

  19. Right now when patrons go to Discover they need to click on the search bar before searching. We suggest it should be like Google (or any other search engine), when the page loads you can start typing your search.

  20. The filter options that are currently available in Vega don't allow patrons to search by video game platform. We would like to see a new filter or a subfilter for the Format facet that would allow users to refine the search results by console/platform. In our catalog a game like Overcooked, which has multiple editions for Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PlayStation consoles, brings up 14 different results that a patron would need to click into to find the platform for each. With a platform filter they could select Nintendo Switch and apply that to the search to end up with…
