  1. The Log In pop up disappears if the mouse is ever-so-slightly off the tab, and keeps closing. This can be frustrating. Can this be "sticky" once clicked, so it doesn't disappear while patrons are typing?

  2. By default Vega Discover loads zoomed in at 100% which cuts off a lot of useful information for the patron. The first record listed cuts off requiring scrolling and all the "Refine Results" don't show requiring scrolling. Vega requires an excessive amount of scrolling to see basic results. Zooming out to 90% rectifies this issue. I would like the option in admin settings to customize the default zoom level 70-100%. This will enhance the usability of Vega Discover and allow patrons the ability to see more vega options by default.

  3. We have the ability to turn off "Other books in the series" in our Syndetics settings which turns off the gray covers for items not owned in that section, but unfortunately we have no way to turn off just the "Similar Series" section of "You May also Like" without also turning off the "Top Picks" for individual titles in the "You May also Like" section. We would like "Top Picks" to be separate from "Similar Series" in the settings for "You May Also Like" so we can turn off one without turning off the other.

  4. We have the ability to see item availability within grid view on the regular Vega Discover site, but will not see that on the grid view within the customized Kids'/Themed (Kiosk) page. Please incorporate this for ease of visability within Kids'/Themed homepages. I've attached two screenshots showing the green/red boxes on a regular Vega Discover grid view versus the Kids'/Themed view.

  5. Work flow example: Vega sees the Bib Record is display in PAC (checked). Item Records associated to the Bib Record are all "Limited to pickup at..." (checked) the Place Hold dialog box shown on Vega should only reflect those values.

  6. Currently, you can only authenticate a patron by Patron ID or Barcode . Sometimes the libraries in the consortia don't tell us their barcode prefixes have changed and patrons were being blocked for no reason. So we are utilizing the SIP connection with OverDrive and Kanopy to block against patron type in Polaris, no longer utilizing the barcode prefixes so patrons have easier access. Now that fix might not work in Vega to authenticate OverDrive because we don't use the barcode.

  8. Currently, we are able to see a few of our e-items when searching in Kiosk mode. I would suggest full e-materials (Hoopla, Libby, etc) integration in Kiosk mode. If that is not possible, is there a way to exclude all e-items in Kiosk mode as we don't want our patrons to think that the e-items showing up are the only e-items we have?

  9. We have configured a few of our custom header links to point to popular searches (ie. New Items, On Order, etc.). We are getting a lot of feedback from patrons that are frustrated by the number of new tabs that are created since these links always open in a new tab. I understand that these were likely designed this way because they were intended to link out to other pages. It would be great if there was a setting to apply to links that are internal to allow them to open in the same tab, streamlining the user experience.

  11. Could you please make it so we can create a view later list, just by adding an icon to the corner of the book image. This would be easier than having to click on the book to view it and then find the request or save button.

  13. We need the ability to hide certain fields in the account portal that we don't have. For instance, we only want one phone number in the account, but we cannot get rid of the second field for phone numbers even though we don't allow updating those fields. Also, since the address is not mapping correctly in our displayed address fields, we would like to hide this so customers are not confused.

  14. Hello,
    Vega Discover administrators need a way to identify the software version.
    Why? I find that the upgrade schedule is not always accurate. We are in North America and the upgrade can be delayed by a day, or happens during the middle of the expected day. It would be helpful to have a version stamp somewhere on the site or admin site to help administrators know when they can begin testing the new features.

  15. We are a special case, with more than 2000 admins. When we need to manage them in Vega staff > Settings > User management we would like to have some kind of sorting by name, or a search box which makes us easier to retrieve the person we are looking for. It would save us a lot of time.

  16. Some patrons have reported they would like more options for the "results per page" when searching -- specifically, an option for 100. The PAC gave options up to 100, but Vega Discover only gives options up to 40 per page.

  17. Library staff have asked for the following translations to be made available so that patrons can select them in Vega Discover:

    • Arabic
    • Urdu
    • Korean
    • Russian
    • Telugu
    • Tagalog
    • Bengali
    • Hindi
    • Gujarati

    Many of our libraries serve linguistically diverse populations, but I know that Gujarati, Hindi, and Urdu would be adopted by several of them.

  18. During implementation, saved searches should be imported as well as saved lists when a library requests it. We recently went through Vega implementation and patrons are very disappointed that their saved searches aren't in the Account Portal. While they can recreate the searches, this discourages Vega adoption by a large number of our patrons. They would rather say within the PowerPAC and continue running their searches there.

  19. The current "address" information in the Account Portal consists of the Street 1 field from Polaris on the top line and the City, State, and ZIP fields grouped on the second line. Our library uses Street 2 for apartment numbers and would like the option to display Street 2 in account portal so that patrons don't think part of their address is missing from our records.

  20. Could the hold position be refined so that a patron from Library A can see their position in line specifically for their home library’s copies? Leap already supports this—when the holds queue is filtered by the patron’s library, it correctly shows the local position.

    For example, The Correspondent currently has 426 holds across the consortium. When I place a hold, Vega shows my position as No. 427 (see screenshot 1). However, my home library has several copies, and in Leap my local position is No. 11 (see screenshot 2).
