  1. For example allow us to link up our website to automatically go to Spanish. We have a few spots on the website that are meant to link to the catalog in Spanish for ease of use of Spanish speakers. I can bring up Spanish language materials, but the catalog itself always defaults to English.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be really helpful for users who try to check in an OverDrive title they have on Kindle to get an error message other than the general one that says to try again later. Titles that have been sent to Kindle need to be checked in through Amazon. Most of our patrons go through the Libby app, which gives them return instructions there, but we've had a few try to return these titles from their Vega account portal and are confused when they get an error.

  3. Currently, when a patron is logged into Vega Discover and uses the Share/Email function, the email field remains blank. While some mobile browsers offer "autofill" suggestions, web browser users must manually enter their email address for every individual item they wish to share.

    We suggest that the "Email" field in the Vega Discover Share modal automatically populate with the authenticated user's email address from their account record.   4. Currently Vega only supports title level holds. It would be nice if Vega had the same behaviour as WebOPAC and allow item level holds.

  5. It would be nice if records extracted from OAI sources could be linked to an existing location. Now there is no way to tell where is from every result from OAI.

    At least have a way to filter only OAI results.

  6. It would be helpful for Vega Discover to let users know if they had previously checked out a title. This could display when patrons are checking out titles and/or in the search results or title record page.

    Avid readers may forget they've read a title before. This can be true for standalone titles, but especially for series. It can be frustrating/annoying for patrons to realise they've read the title only once they've checked the material out and start reading at home. It would be very helpful for them to be able to have this identified when they're searching content and/or…

  8. Issue: The "Manage Hold" button is hidden outside the text box on the mobile view. Users can't see it unless they accidentally scroll horizontally.

    Request: 1. Wrap the button to the next line so it stays inside the visible screen, OR
    2. Extend the container/add an arrow to show that users need to scroll.

  9. In the PAC, when the volume field had an entry for one item on a bib record, all items would still show up for the patron to choose from. However, in Vega Discover, it will appear that all items are available to place a hold on, but once the user starts the hold request process, ONLY the item(s) with a filled volume field is given as an option to choose from. This has caused a substantial increase in broken holds and a holds bottleneck, as records with filled volume fields supersede records with unfilled volume fields when holds are placed.

  10. Some borrowers want to know how many holds are on the items they have checked out so that they know which items they won't be able to renew. It also helps the borrower decide which items they might want to finish first.

  11. We currently aren't able to use Vega to allow patrons to pay their fines. We'd like the option to remove the pay fine button as we've had many patrons querying why they can't pay their fine, as the button currently does nothing. If not possible we'd like to be able to link to our library website with information on how to pay fines in the account portal instead.

  13. The update to the account portal for City/State/Postalcode being text entry allows patrons to make these entries anything. These create new entries in the the Postalcode table, making it very messy (Made up cities/states/postcodes or incorrectly spelt, ect). These new entries then show from the drop down when patrons join online compounding the issue if new patrons choose the incorrect one. Example from our system using the State: NSW not the full text state New South Wales. Someone has created a New South Wales entry and other patrons have joined selecting it.

  14. Right now the default in bookmark lists is set to "Available" when it should be set to "All" as the default. Customers are confused as to where the rest of their bookmark list is and don't know they need to toggle to "All."

  15. In the showcases made from bookmark lists, we can select whether to show the list on the record pages. This feature is not available for showcases made from ILS Lists or Saved Searches.

    Some showcases from ILS Lists and Saved Searches may not be beneficial to patrons viewing record pages, even though we may generate showcases to embed on a website or to view for ourselves.

  16. We need the ability to hide certain fields in the account portal that we don't have. For instance, we only want one phone number in the account, but we cannot get rid of the second field for phone numbers even though we don't allow updating those fields. Also, since the address is not mapping correctly in our displayed address fields, we would like to hide this so customers are not confused.

  17. We have complaints about the Account View in the Account portal showing patron personal info at the top of the screen that cannot be minimized. Customers who login to place holds in the library using our catalog kiosks are particularly upset by this data displaying. It really pertains to anyone who would like privacy on their screen while using Vega. Please put the personal information for the patron behind an edit or view action or tab. The information is so large it is easily seen by anyone walking by. This is big for us for patron privacy.

  18. We would like the ability to combine and pay fines for linked accounts. That was a selling point for setting this up. A parent could pay all the fines for all of the children’s/partner’s accounts to pay by credit card. Since we require a $5 minimum, this would be super helpful for fines for account A with $1.50 and account B with $3.50 – combining would get them over that threshold.

    Currently, if you try to pay fines for more than one of your accounts, you get a message, "Fines can only be paid for one account at a time…

  19. Make the two large purple icons, not just the text below them, link to their sections. Especially on mobile, this would be more user friendly. I find myself expecting them to be buttons. Some patrons may have to zoom in to accurately tap the text links.

    It could be the icons or even the entire rectangular boxes and everything in them.

  20. Patrons have expressed concern that the password reset page doesn’t resemble an MCPL page. One of them called to make sure they weren't being scammed. We have patrons of all levels of tech-savviness using our catalog. We'd love to be able to customize the look of this page or at least add our logo so that patrons aren't confused by the different look, feel, and URL of the password reset page.
