  2. When building a Showcase using the "Create from ILS List" function, the resulting list should float the bib type used to create the list to the top for display.

    For example, I've created a list of new DVDs and have built a showcase based on that list. The resulting showcase defaults to displaying the Blu-ray tab. Because the ILS list includes the record number, and I know you can link directly to a specific tab using that record number, we should be able to highlight those specific types in the showcase, if not by default, then it should be an…

  3. Offer a setting in Vega Admin to restrict access to third-party content (e.g., CloudLibrary) by patron code, such as controlling visibility and/or buttons to place holds and checkout.

    Problem
    The vendor records are ingested into Vega, but access restrictions enforced in the vendor’s app and website are not applied in Vega. As a result, certain patron codes can still place holds and check out digital items. When they visit the vendor's app/website, they are not granted access to the item.

  4. Patrons are finding it less intutive to delete items from their saved lists with the "Remove from List" link almost hidden in the very top right corner of the screen.

    Each item in a saved list has a box around the image, the share button and select button are there. We also think the delete button, perhaps as garbage can icon, should be there as well.

    (The "Remove From List" button can still be in the top right, if multiple items are selected, but for one-off deletions it should be easier and more clear how to do it).

  5. We have had issues recently where items have been transferred to new bib. records and disappeared from Vega as a result and others where items were deleted and disappeared as expected, but then never reappeared once they were undeleted.

    We would like to have a database sync process that can be run which compares the Vega database against the ILS to confirm that everything is in sync - basically a cross-system data integrity check or verification process between systems that would let us know if there was anything that was out of sync so we could investigate and correct it.

  6. Thrilled to be able to create showcases in Vega Discover using ILS lists!

    The lists seem to automatically sort to newest title first. We'd like to be able to maintain the sort order from the record set or have sort options once added as a showcase.

  7. Staff use the catalog to pull materials for displays and storytimes, and sorting by author or title doesn't do them any good when looking in Non-Fiction, or when looking across multiple collections. For example, if they were looking for display items for Dragons they are going to be possibly in a few different Dewey numbers as well as in all the subsets of fiction, so running a search and being able to sort by call number would help them find the items as efficiently as possible.

  8. If you are on a resource page, log in, and then use the browser back button, there is an authentication error. The error page cannot be edited. The error page is not intuitive and provides no way back to the main catalogue.

    The error is: Unexpected error when authenticating with identity provider".

    That has not been well received by our staff & customers.

  10. Now that the Citation function has been improved to include the ability to copy or email, we are happy to have it as an option for patrons. Please allow us to set a from email for this as patrons will be confused by the no-reply@iiivega.com email address.

    The same goes for the Share/Email option.

    Even better, add Citation and Resource Page sharing to LX Starter so that we could customize a branded template for these patron-initiated emails.

  11. When setting up closure dates, it would be helpful to offer an option to setup a systemwide closure date (may be adjusted for each location).

    As a single library system, we only occasionally close an individual location; most closures would apply to all locations.

    Some closures may be need to be adjusted, such as a systemwide closure for a hurricane and turn off each location's closure as we reopen the buildings.

  12. When updating the Vega Admin closure dates for locations, the dates seem to be fixed in the order that they were created. It would be helpful to sort these by either date added or date of closure.

    It would also be helpful to automatically hide the closure dates in the past. This is beneficial in our other platforms, including Library Market, our website calendar with Granicus, our Google Business pages, etc.

  13. It would be great to have a way to filter a search by what is actually borrow-able for the user. For instance, I was looking into a request from one of our libraries about placing a hold on a radon testing kit and after bopping around for a few minutes I realized there doesn't seem to be a way to filter a search by what is actually borrow-able for the user, which makes for a frustrating user experience.

  14. In Encore, libraries had the ability to add Community Tags. These were quite useful in searching for topics that aren't traditional LC Subject Headings. For example, on our website, we have a link to Kids Resources on various topics like "potty training" as a community tag, the LC heading is "toilet training". Or "healthy eating". We also have Award winners as tags - Caudill, Monarch, Bluestem award winners.

  15. When a patron is looking at a monograph serial title and wants to place a hold on a volume, they click on place a hold and get the option to choose which volume they want. The volumes are listed by digit, rather than numerically. For example:

    We would like to see the volumes listed numerically (preferably with the latest volumes listed first):

    97

    This would help patrons find exactly the volumes they are looking for, particularly having the latest volumes listed at the top.

  16. When placing a hold on a title with multiple volumes, a screen pops up asking "Which Volume/Issue Would You Like To Request?". The volumes are then sorted by digit rather than numerically. So, for example, Vega Discover sorts as follows:

    This makes it more difficult for the patron to go right to the volume they would like to request.

  17. Magazine issues do not display in the My Bookshelf checkouts and holds. If someone checks out many issues over a period of a couple of days or weeks, they have no idea which issue may be overdue or coming due.

  18. We are finding the creation of staff user accounts a bit clunky. Having only 12 hours to accept the link is too short of a time frame when someone from another location is creating the user account but unaware of when the staff member is working or will see the email. If the window is missed, there's no way for them to request a new link, and the account has to be deleted and recreated. There also needs to be a Forgot Password option for staff users.
