Edit Username in Admin AppOnce a user is created in the admin app, you are not able to update the username. You may update the password, permissions, etc., but not the username itself. All of our clerk-level positions are part-time, so there is a lot of turnover. Each time an employee leaves, his/her account must be deleted and a new one created for the replacement. New material type iconsThe current icons available for the OPAC for material types are woefully lacking. There's no icon for audiobooks (the modern digital type), but you have icons for cd-rom books and books on cassette. The icon I'd most like to see added is a streaming video icon. This is a very common collection item in the 21st century, but our only option is a film (reel-to-reel), dvd, or internet resource (which isn't helpful at all). Let patrons enter a thaw date for frozen holdsCustomers have the ability to freeze holds currently, but after the time has elapsed from them to be frozen, there is no message or alert, or automatic way for the holds to be "unfrozen". Make a way for the holds to automatically unfreeze, or at the least for the customer to get a notice that the time has expired, so that they can unfreeze the hold themselves. Idea Value

Spine Labels: Make it Easier!Convert current Sierra print templates for spinelabels to something like what is available for email notices in LX Starter. We need an easier, more user friendly way to customize spine labels in Sierra. Sierra User Accounts - Globally Apply Options, Settings & PreferencesMake the management of Options, Settings and Preferences operate the same way as Applications, Permissions, Workflows and User Groups, where you can drag and drop users, making it easier to set these globally. Today I had to disable the cover images being displayed in all of our user accounts. Had to click in one-by-one, go to their Settings > Display and uncheck the box, "save," and do this for over 50 user accounts. Manage Holds (view outstanding holds reports) should include INN-Reach items.Currently to find a list of all INN-Reach items located on a branches holdshelf, not just expired ones is a difficult task. The Received Too Long report only allows you to sort by Patron Home Library which may not correspond to their hold pickup location. A person would need to run this report and look up each INN-Reach item to see if they are actually at the patrons home library, or a different branch. Waive part of a fineCirculation staff would like the ability to waive portions of individual fines/fees on a patron record. Sometimes staff forgets to backdate items in our book drop or the library is closed for some reason (weather, etc.). Auto Trim trailing spaces from varfieldsIt's quite easy when entering data into varfields across the record types of Sierra to inadvertently include some trailing spaces, particularly when cutting and pasting text. I don't believe there is any value in retaining those excess spaces and they can cause problems with various tasks such as SQL searches and global updates if those invisible characters are not accounted for. I'd like to suggest that whenever text is entered into a varfield and the record is saved, that a right trim is performed upon that field to remove any trailing spaces. Idea Value

Always be able to freeze a hold in catalogue(s)Provide Libraries with the option to "always be able to freeze a bib or item level hold". If circulation/OPAC rules allow a customer to place a hold, the customer should always be able to freeze it. Allow staff modification of frozen holdsThe current "Frozen Holds" function in WebPAC does not allow for patrons to select a date at which they want their holds to be "unfrozen". Staff have the ability to set a "Not Wanted Before" date on behalf of the patron, but there is currently have no way to modify the date of a frozen hold on behalf of a patron in the Sierra Desktop App. SDA should have the option to change that date once frozen by the patron, in the event the patron cannot unfreeze it themselves. Cascading HoldsOver a decade ago, III mentioned work being underway on "cascading holds" functionality. Meant for Millennium at the time, the feature seemed to disappear from their development plan due to staff transitions or some other reason, but I'd love to see it brought to fruition. Arrange Saved Notice jobsby Kathy Setter Although we can sort by columns. in the saved notice jobs there is no way to rearrange them into a preferred order without being creative in naming the jobs (numbering, adding letters, etc). "Both" Option for Due Slip DeliveryThe first request we got after releasing emailed Due Slips was for the option to generate both an email and a print slip. FTS File Saving Printing - Include LoginAs it's recommended to regularly delete old files after printing to FTS File Save, it would help to know who the owner is of the files that need to be deleted, much like you know the login/owner of old Statistics result files and Create List review files. While the system administrator may have an idea of who owns what files, staff may ignore naming conventions, etc., making it difficult to determine whether it's okay to delete an old file or if it it's something that should be kept for record keeping purposes.
