Add a Search Filter for Game Platforms to Vega
The filter options that are currently available in Vega don't allow patrons to search by video game platform. We would like to see a new filter or a subfilter for the Format facet that would allow users to refine the search results by console/platform. In our catalog a game like Overcooked, which has multiple editions for Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PlayStation consoles, brings up 14 different results that a patron would need to click into to find the platform for each. With a platform filter they could select Nintendo Switch and apply that to the search to end up with the one or two results they are looking for. Having the option of additional subfilter formats would also be useful in narrowing down searches for other types of items, for example specifying between the different eBook formats that are available.
As a patron searching for video games, it would be useful to have an additional filter to narrow Vega searches by game platform. This additional filter would make these items easier to locate when searching.

This enhancement would be beneficial for patrons and for staff searching for a specific video game format.

This enhancement would streamline the search process for patrons and also help eliminate confusion for staff who may be less familiar with all of the different video gaming platforms.

Having a "sub-filter" would be useful to patrons searching for games that can be played on more than one platform, such as most PS4 games can be played on PS5 platforms. Having the option to choose both PS4 and PS5 games the patron will be able to see all options available without having to do more than one search.
Sub-filters would be helpful in other formats, such as the ebook example mentioned above. It can be used for Blu-ray's where patrons may be looking for 3D's or ultra 4K's. It will eliminate the need of having to maintain more granular material types.

This would save an incredible amount of time for both patrons and staff. Patrons only want games for the specific video game console they own, therefore allowing them to limit the search by platform would enhance their user experience by offering only the search results they are actually looking for.

Most patrons are looking for specific platforms when they search for games. Allowing them to limit by format will not only be helpful to the patron who is searching for a game that will work on the platform they have but will require less staff intervention when a patron cannot find what they need.

Many patrons want to be able to limit to particular formats, like ebooks they can load onto their Kindle. They are used to limiting by format in other platforms, like Overdrive/Libby. Adding this to Vega is consistent with user experience across many platforms.

I think patrons would appreciate the ability to filter out game platforms or ebook formats they do not need.
