Most patrons expect the book to be the default result. They can easily select a different format if they need to, but keeping the book as the first option across the board is more consistent.

Including the ability to sign up for SMS in Vega is an important way for our patrons to stay connected to the library and the services they have come to expect. The more ways we can potentially engage with our patrons, the better.

We handle notices for numerous member libraries and provide them with a monthly tally of how many were printed. It has always puzzled me that Sierra does not accurately count the actual number of notices. I frequently observe 10 (or more!) notices being printed while Sierra logs it as only 1 or 2. Each notice, whether printed or emailed, should be accurately counted to maintain statistical integrity.

This is vital for consortia! The number of notices that would be sent if we didn't have central messaging would be absolutely staggering. I will also wholeheartedly agree that we are also SO ready to leave (the very outdated and tired) Jasper-based circ notices behind.
