Suggest a purchase
Libraries would like the ability for patrons to suggest a purchase if a title is not found in Discover. Please comment below on your library's use case.

It would be nice if it can limit the amount of suggestions in a time period per user. Overdrive does a good job on suggest to purchase. Obviously theirs has a list of available titles to purchase but our staff like to look up the suggestions and find the ones multiple people are interested in before purchasing so we dont buy for just one patron.

We would like to see this, but as part of its implementation, we would like to be able to limit PTYPEs that can submit suggestions. For example, our Internet registrant PTYPE shouldn't be allowed to make any suggestions, until they validate their card for a more permanent PTYPE.
We would also like a limit on the number of suggestions that can be made by a given user in a specified period of time (for example, a max of 10 per month).
Lastly, if the suggestion is approved, an option should allow that a hold can be placed on the item for the requesting patron.

Yes, please! We currently allow our patrons to set OCLC WorldCat as a secondary database when they can't find what they want in our PowerPAC, then they can place their hold there and staff can then decide whether it is a purchase or ILL request.
I am disappointed to see that Vega Discover doesn't have that capability as we transition over to Discover.

Yes, and please give us the ability for this request to go to the patron's registered home library and not a central email account. Thanks!

In addition to having Suggest a Purchase as option in discovery it can also notify the patron when the item is purchased (or not) and offer the patron the opportunity to place a hold when the item is added to the collection.

(Update - this is no longer listed on the roadmap.)
