Advanced Search - ability to send customers to other sites (e.g., our website)
It would be useful if the advanced search could include a link to other sites, like our website, or our eCollections sites or our research and heritage resources.

A way of prompting or reminding patrons that they need to change their passcode
If someone joins online we set a default passcode and when sending out the details to the patron by email we encourage them to make sure they change the default passcode to something more personal as soon as possible. However, it would be good to have an actual prompt in Vega Bookshelf when they first logon to remind them to change their passcode or better still force them to change their passcode.

Language Options
On the Vega Discover home page, only the link to English(US) is visible. The link to Español is visible only after user clicks English (but why click “English” if the page is already in English?) Suggest to display the dropdown menu items, show an arrow next the English (US), or a link to Español (US) instead of showing English (US).

Group hold
Group different editions together in order so once a format/edition satisfies the hold, the other holds will
automatically be cancelled. This can be useful for a user who doesn't care about the format and just wants any edition of the resource whenever it is available9 votesClosing items submitted over 2 years ago with no recent activity.

Auto-scroll for carousels on home page
Provide the option to turn on some form of autoplay/autoscroll for carousels on the Vega homepage.
This would be helpful to enable at least for the hero carousels to allow for more exposure to slides after the first.

Search via shortcut codes
I have had a couple of libraries ask me about this:
will we be able to use the abbreviations from advanced search like in Encore in Vega? i.e. c:117 limits to my library, f:a. I use that all the time to help patrons and find resources quicker both in Sierra and Encore.
For further clarity:
Some libraries like to use the shortcut codes—once you know them, it’s faster and easier than using the facets to narrow down your search.
In her example, she’s using the Encore advanced search, limiting the format to books and to her collection. When you do…

Econtent in Kiosk mode
Currently, we are able to see a few of our e-items when searching in Kiosk mode. I would suggest full e-materials (Hoopla, Libby, etc) integration in Kiosk mode. If that is not possible, is there a way to exclude all e-items in Kiosk mode as we don't want our patrons to think that the e-items showing up are the only e-items we have?

Don't ignore paren in uniform titles
Our live action and animated Disney films are rolling up together because Vega ignores parentheses in uniform titles.
Each have separate and distinct 130 tags (uniform title) but because the authorized uniform title headings are Aladdin (Motion picture : 1992) for the animated and Aladdin (Motion picture : 2019) for the live action and because Vega ignores text in parentheses in titles, it's treating both as just "Aladdin" and rolling up both as a single record.

Permanent Links
Permanent link to Vega records. When records are changed, the Vega ID changes and thus the link changes resulting in broken links. Please create permanent links for Vega records that aren't affected by changes to the item or bib records in Polaris.

Further refine the availability filter to work for Overdrive titles
The availability filter is more helpful now that it can filter out titles which have no physical items available. Checking "at library" does indeed find only titles that have an item available on the shelf. Thank you! But if you check "online" for availability, it just shows everything from Overdrive - it doesn't actually filter out the unavailable Overdrive titles.
6 votesThis cannot be done for OverDrive and other econtent. Vega has to ping the econtent vendor API for each individual title separately in order to get 'availability' status. It's impossible to do this for all search results rather than just the displayed page of results and return correct availability on the fly for a facet.

Diacritics for Foreign Language records
World Language displays with diacritics, especially Spanish, French, German. The diacritics may appear ok in Polaris Client bib record, but it is intermittent whether they appear correctly in Vega.
i.e. Author: Laurie Friedman titles in French -
1. title appears ok as "Milly l'espiègle et le bébé en pleurs" but summary is not ok.
2 another title appears incorrectly as "Milly l'espi?gle et les cl?s disparues"Both titles are ok in Polaris.
2 votesClosing since the follow-up is that diacritics seem ok.

Integration with LibCal's "Tickets & Passes" module and/or Museum/Lending Key
This would allow the patron to do a search for something like "cake pans", for example, and have the results come up in the catalog if it was listed in the library of things collection in either LibCal's Tickets & Passes module or Lending Key. Similarly, a search for "botanical gardens" could bring up a record for the museum pass that was in the collection in the LibCal's Tickets & Passes module or Museum Key. Then the patron could reserve the pass or item directly from the catalog.

Open custom header links in the same tab if they are pointing to search results within Vega Discover.
We have configured a few of our custom header links to point to popular searches (ie. New Items, On Order, etc.). We are getting a lot of feedback from patrons that are frustrated by the number of new tabs that are created since these links always open in a new tab. I understand that these were likely designed this way because they were intended to link out to other pages. It would be great if there was a setting to apply to links that are internal to allow them to open in the same tab, streamlining the user experience.

Add 028 to Indexed Identifiers
This field is used for publisher’s/distributor’s numbers for video recordings, sound recordings (including audiobooks), and printed music. These numbers are important access points for these materials.
All 028 fields should be indexed, regardless of indicators.
