I completely agree with your concerns about data privacy in LX Starter. It is critical that LX Starter treats all personal information as PII and only brings over the necessary information for sending emails.
Your suggestions to modify LX Starter to not fetch or store any unnecessary patron PII, not show the full library barcode, and offer 2-factor LX Starter login are all excellent steps towards reducing risk and improving data security. It is important that these steps are taken as soon as possible to ensure the protection of patrons’ personal information.
There is absolutely no need for a mailing address and birthday to be stored and accessible in LX Starter. If a library needs an age group for targeted emails the group should be determine prior data being send to and stored in LX Starter or Promote.

I completely agree with the idea of integrating BTCat and Polaris. The ability to “push” records from BTCat directly into Polaris would greatly streamline the cataloging process for libraries. It would eliminate the need for manual export/import of records and make the transition away from the Polaris desktop client much smoother. This integration would be a valuable addition for libraries and would improve their efficiency in managing bibliographic records.

Please provide an update to this request, specifically the addition of a Check-In method to the Polaris API. This method would allow Remote Lockers, Automated Material Handlers, and patron self-service systems like express checkout system to use the Polaris API.
The addition of a check-in method would greatly enhance the functionality and usability of the Polaris API for these systems and would provide a more seamless and efficient experience for patrons, allowing for little or zero need for using old SIP2.

While Polaris v7.4 includes a new method for check out via the API, the methods to complete a circulation workflow are still missing from the API.

I would like to add that, currently, the test notice feature only shows a preview of one item with limited data. This makes it difficult for us to design our templates and format our notices correctly.
We would like to have the ability to change the item that is previewed, or to see multiple items with different data, using ILS data can help get this done. Specifically, we need to see items with longer titles, authors, barcodes, call numbers, and other details that may affect the layout and appearance of the notice.
This enhancement would help us create more accurate and professional-looking notices for our customers. It would also save us time and effort from having to edit our designs after publishing.

We found a way to solve for this while working on the recent search history in Leap. This will be included in Polaris 7.7 through the recent search feature and saving filters as part of saved searches.

Our trust in the reports has always been low due to these very reasons. Improving these resources is a must. We end up writing our own with slight modification to fix the output based on testing for accuracy. Please fix these resources.

We need to exclude locations by default and instead drive visitors to a collection site specifically branded for the material at that location.
