An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedAs a consortia member, we were so excited to be able to have our Hoopla records integrated into our local scoped catalog once we adopted Vega Discover. We have had our OverDrive records in our scoped catalog in WebOPAC for a long time, but we were unable to have our Hoopla records in our scoped WebOPAC. It thrilled us that we were able to promote Hoopla items in the Vega Discover catalog as another resource of electronic materials for our patrons. Unfortunately, we have now discovered that our Hoopla records are unable to be included in not only our kiosks, but our themed Children's catalog. This reduces our ability to accurately present to patrons the wide range of materials we have purchased for their use. Please add this functionality to the consortial Vega Discover ASAP. Thank you very much.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedMore often than not, the artist names and photos no longer appear on the front cover of an album. This will cause a lot of confusion when patrons are searching for a generic title by a particular artist such as "Greatest Hits" - there are going to be dozens of albums with that title by dozens of different artists. Patrons are going to be extremely frustrated to have to travel outside the library catalog in order to be able to which artist's album is which.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedBy not having the formats listed in the grid view of a Kids/Themed catalog, we are increasing the likelihood of disappointed children and parents. We fully expect that parents will be helping their children look for items in the Kids/Themed catalog, and those parents will be able to explain to the children what the format icons mean. It will cause great disappointment to a child when they click on an item and need to be told that an eBook is not something they can physically borrow and take home, or that they would need a CD player to listen to the Book on CD they selected. Children only need something explained once to absorb it, so a parent explaining an open book icon means a physical book, a headphones icons means an audiobook, etc. will help them know what to look for. Having the icons on there will reduce and/or eliminate the frustrations of both the parent and child that would be caused by an item not being available in the format they want.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedMost of our users expect this level of consideration on our part to make their user experience easier. To be able to come to the Discover page and simply begin typing, like they do when using a search engine, would create a very smooth interaction for our patrons.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedThis is an absolute necessity for us poor little consortia. Getting patrons to read our communications is hard enough without our power users feeling bombarded by email after email after email for each individual item they have checked out or reserved. This would be ideal.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedWe have encountered this problem, as well. A copy option would make this much easier for my staff.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedWhen patrons are using a Children's catalog, they rightly expect all of the suggested materials to be age-appropriate. Especially if they are allowing the children to use the catalog on their own, as we have customized it to appeal to children. No adult content should be accessible in a children's catalog.

Updating the request based on customer discussion with product to clarify the purpose of the enhancement.
An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedOur patrons rely on consistency, and having the book tab reliably highlighted first will eliminate tons of erroneous requests for material types that the patrons didn't want.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedA large number of our patrons complain about not seeing their emails because their inboxes are overloaded with messages, so we have always pushed them to sign up for text message alerts. We also have many patrons who want to know IMMEDIATELY when something they have requested comes in for them, and they love their text message alerts. We need to be able to offer this option to ALL of our patrons, especially since we are unable to sign them up for this service in Sierra.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedI also only use my "username" to log into my account, and I know quite a few of our patrons only use this, also. We have been pushing this feature for many years, so our patrons are going to be very upset to no longer have access to this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedWe have numerous patrons, including all of the students in our school district, who use smaller Chromebooks for internet access. The smaller screens could cause this problem for all of these patrons. We also lend out smaller Chromebooks to our patrons, so this could be an issue for those patrons, also. Just over half of our patrons access our web site, and catalog, via mobile devices so this could be very frustrating for these patrons, as well.

An error occurred while saving the comment Denise Heid Scarbeck commentedIt is wildly confusing for our patrons to see items listed in the catalog as 'On Order' when the item is actually damaged, long overdue, or any other status that isn't 'Available' or checked out. Depending on the record, this could also make it appear that the library is ordering a very old copy of an item. Accurate information is very important to our patrons, and to our staff.

We need to know which of our showcases are popular or unpopular. This will help us decide which subject areas to continue to create showcases for, and which ones we should no longer create. It allows for streamlining our workflows with the hard data to back up our choices.
