Option to suppress holds postition in queue in patron account
We would like to have the option to suppress the patron's holds position in the queue from displaying. We don't have it display in our current PAC and we don't want it to display in Vega either due to it being misleading since the algorithm prioritizes a library's own patrons first which often changes the order.

Please include an option to hide the holds queue from patrons. They are not used to seeing it, and in our consortium, the number displayed does not reflect their actual wait time for requested items. This could lead to unnecessary frustration and confusion.

The option to toggle the 'waitlist' display would provide a less confusing experience to our patrons, since there is not really one list in our large consortium.

I've actually had this happen to me when I placed a hold on a new book. I understand that patrons were prioritized for their home libraries, but it's still frustrating when you're technically "first on the list". For a patron that doesn't know why their hold is not getting fulfilled when they're higher up on the list than another patron, I can understand why they might get upset and then complain to library staff. Having the option to disable the display would save both patrons and staff some heartache.

We propose adding a toggle option to disable the "hold position" count. This number can be inaccurate and misleading for holds on physical items in a large consortium like ours. Our libraries prioritize local holds, so the displayed number doesn't accurately reflect the actual availability of the items. Given that we've already suppressed this information in Encore and WebPAC, we believe it should also be possible to suppress it in Vega.

Yes, please make a toggle option to disable the display of holds queue position, specifically to suppress the display of "Place in line # - waiting" from being shown on the Bookshelf under "Holds". For consortia and other large systems this display becomes problematic as a patron may seem to be far down in the queue (in the hundreds) but may actually be getting their item much sooner due to holds processing rules (local library fulfills local patron's requests first before other libraries in the system).
We want to avoid patrons from getting discouraged at their place in the queue, cancelling and just purchasing the book instead of using the library. Thanks for the consideration!

We are a large consortium and prioritize local patron holds the same way. Therefore, we also turned off the queue position in Encore, and would like the option for Vega.
