Ability to change password on login page of SDA
Many libraries are creating individual logins for each staff member. Staff needs the ability to change their password in case they forget it. At this point, they need to be logged into the SDA to change their password which doesn't help if they can't remember it.
This idea will be reviewed by the Innovative product team for consideration in planning the upcoming product roadmap.

We would vote for this! We had a similar enhancement request in the old Idea Lab as in comments below: It could be possible to store the user's work email address in the User Basic Info in Admin App. Then the email address could be used to restore the password (Forgot your password functionality for staff). This is more important now because we are finally implementing SDA Context Users. We have hundreds of staff members and no admin staff available in the evenings/weekends to reset passwords. Of course it should be an optional and secure function. It would be library responsibility to accept/store work emails only to those users that are allowed to restore their password.

Would love to see this! We have staff with varying degrees of memory skills &/or password reset paranoia. Giving them the option to update or reset their own password would make things far easier for admin staff.

We had this problem so often, that our Sierra admin created an app which allows the users whose Sierra login name matches their institutional login name to authenticate and reset their Sierra password. I also agree with Phil that there should be the option to block this for shared accounts. I could see a student worker hitting a reset overnight and the morning shift are toast.

I agree with Phil, as it's very common for self-serve password resets to be handled via email in this way.
Of course, I'd rather be using SSO, but until then...

I like the idea of this. I suppose that this process could send an email reset link to the email address in the staff user account, except that there's not one, so that would have to be added. We also might want to have a setting for shared accounts that doesn't let the password be reset.
