Add Character Map to Patron Record Creation/Editing Menu
Despite the constant threats to our funding & the fact that some seem to treat the notion of DEI as offensive, we continue to want our library to be seen as a welcoming & inclusive environment for our patrons.
We would like to be able to extend this to how their name is represented in Sierra & on notices/when seen in the catalog. We currently have a sort of crib sheet for staff to use to insert diacritic characters into patron names as needed, but think it would be helpful if they didn't have to navigate away from Sierra when creating or editing patron records & could access the Character Map that's already accessible in the Tools menu.
Unfortunately, as currently configured, when in New or Edit mode when it comes to patron records, that Tools menu is rendered inaccessible & the Character Map does not appear among the options in window that pops up, so no special characters can easily be inserted.
As a secondary request, it would be great if logins could create a custom menu of their own to add commonly used characters, so they're not always searching the impressively extensive menu available.

This would be useful in cataloging as well. Mostly you use the copyright and phonograph copyright symbols, but is is a real pain that those two are on completely different character groups. If I could have a custom thing I could open that would just have those two that get used all the time, it would be really nice.
