  2. When you search for a title in LEAP to place a hold, it'd be nice if you could actually get search results without needing to change the keyword option. I've searched in LEAP multiple times for titles, even selecting the auto-generated title and I still get no search results until I change the keyword search to ALL instead of the default exact.

  3. Currently, we can't use the Pickup Areas functionality in Leap because it is enabled at the system level only (except for the PAC part) and once it's enabled it's ALL pickup areas or none of them - it doesn't allow a library to disable pickup areas in Leap OR to enable, say, Curbside, but not Locker, as a pickup area, if both are added system-wide. We need each library to be able to enable or disable Pickup Areas in Leap AND enable ONLY the specific pickup areas from the list that they offer. This enabling of specific Pickup Areas a…

  4. Having to open each item record to see the stats of each item is alot of work. It would be nice to have the ability to see the stats upon the search results and maybe as an item filter option.

It is possible in Leap to configure the item find tool to display both year to date and lifetime circulation counts in the search results so that you don't have to open each individual item record to check those statistics.

Here is a link to the help file on how to configure what columns appear in the Leap find tool: https://documentation.iii.com/leap/7.5/Default.htm#LEAP1_0/Specify_columns_for_sear.htm?

  5. Some of our ORS patrons have duplicate entries of items in their reading history. We would like to be able to delete the duplicates from the list.

  6. Currently when we print a hold slip for an item that is filling a hold where a pickup area was selected, we don't see the pickup area anywhere on the hold slip (see screenshot where "Curbside" was selected as the pickup area for that library). Can it be added so staff know where the item is being picked up?

  7. According to a posting on the Supportal, "T-Mobile and Sprint have changed their guidelines on how they route and handle SMTP to SMS traffic and that they no longer accept traditional SMTP to SMS traffic, especially when that traffic appears to be generated from an application and not a human. The recommendation from these carriers for anyone experiencing an issue with sending messages to their customer base via SMTP to SMS is to invest in a short code service which will allow their customers to opt-in to the messages." 8. One of our member libraries recently asked us to add this as a possible enhancement request to provide a more specific use for certain library cards. They stated, "We have been discussing the potential of providing internet-only cards as an option to our patrons. Ideally they would be used to access our computers and digital resources, but would not be used to borrow any physical items such as books. We feel there are many patrons who would benefit from this. Is this a possibility?"

  10. When adding a charge to a patrons account the fee reason drop down menu is not sorted alphabetically.
Alphabetical order would make data entry faster/more efficient.

  11. We can run a report on the number of items checked out at our library, but it is much harder to try and track how many items were checked in. Leap will keep a count on the check-in screen, but if the window gets closed or a new staff member logs in, that information is lost. It would be great to be able to easily track how many check-ins we do in a day since check-outs only represent part of what keeps circ staff busy at the desk.

  12. Many of our vendors consolidate processing and cataloging charges and put them on separate invoices from materials. In order to enter and pay these invoices in Leap, our acquisitions staff have to create a purchase order first, and then create a "fake" bib record in order to have something to receive. We would like to keep entering processing and cataloging charges in Leap to help us keep track of the funds, but it would be much simpler if we could directly create and pay an invoice just for processing or cataloging charges without any materials.

  13. Currently, when checking in serial issues in the Polaris client, there are only three options under the drop-down menu for status: "Expected," "Never Published," and "Not available." It would be helpful to add the statuses "Claimed" and "Pending Claimed" as additional options.

  14. The Processing Workslip is very useful - but it is missing some options and has others that we don't use or need. Our collection development and cataloging/processing staff have suggested the following:

-Have the title be in larger or bold font so it is easier to see, and have it at the very top of the page
-Show the number of items at the top of the page near the title/author details so you don't have to go the bottom of the page (or the second page) to count - this would be very helpful for large numbers of items…

  16. It would be beneficial to have the option of cancelling a hold for which the filling item has already moved to an in-transit status. This way, once the item is received at the destination, when it is checked in instead of going on the holds shelf it would either fill the next applicable hold or go in-transit back to the owning library.

  17. The default font size for ORS packing lists, however, is 14. At my library, the vast majority of our patrons prefer large print materials, so a size 14 font is a bit too small. For accessibility purposes, it would make sense for the ORS Packing List to default to an 18pt font, which would be in line with large print standards.

This is not something that we can change ourselves in Polaris, so for several of my outreach patrons, I copy/paste the Packing List into a Word document, then increase the font size manually. While effective, it is time consuming…
