  1. When creating a bookmarked list, can the warning "law enforcement may be able to access without your consent" still be displayed like it is in the current PAC when a list is created?

  2. We would like there to be a similar feature to map it that there is in the current PAC. This is NOT similar to Stack Map in that this would help users find nearby libraries/branches within the consortium that have items (that they could travel to) and Stack Map seems to show them where items are within the library (a map within the library).

  3. Can you possibly index the volume sub field within the record in order to make the searching of books within a series a bit more efficient? For example, searching Dog Man 6 and getting volume 6 of Dog Man within our results.

  4. Currently in Vega Discover, adding an item to multiple lists requires you to go to your first list of items, select the particular item in the list and then multi select the lists that you want the item to be added into. Can there be a new feature to add items to multiple lists within the search results screen for streamlining purposes?

  5. A saved search link just remembers the filters, but not if any of said filters were locked or unlocked, the lock status should also be saved

  6. We understand that we are already supposed to be able to place volume level holds on materials. (It's not working for us, even when we have the volume info entered correctly, so we have reported it as a bug.) However, our staff and patrons would also like the ability for patrons to be able to place item level holds when there is NO volume info entered and the record is NOT a periodical or other serial.

  9. Currently the only direct links to specific patron account tabs that are to Checkout, Holds, Fines and Fees, and Profile. There should be permanently available links to the other top-level tabs within My Bookshelf: Bookmarks, Saved Searches, and Reading History.

  11. We noticed that Discover users focus on the “On the shelf” list and miss “Find a Copy”. We would like to submit a feature request to have “Find a Copy” more prominently displayed. The three ways to do this in order of preference:

    1. Above “On the shelf” reversing the two locations + larger icon and font
    2. Next to “On the shelf” so both are on the same line + larger icon and font
    3. Larger icon and font where it currently resides on the page

  12. Improve the capabilities of the mini search feature that only looks at the patron's reading history. We've had patrons mention some minor odd things like being unable to find a work in their reading history when searching by the author's first name + last name (only last name + first name order works). Also, mixing keywords from the title and author fields or using keywords from the title out of sequence fail to return results.

  13. Patrons currently lack the ability to add or modify the "username" field value (Polaris Registration field with Polaris) in Vega Discover. Historically, patrons had this capability, but after updating to Vega Discover, we disabled it due to its non-editable nature. However, due to significant feedback from patrons, we have re-enabled this feature. Please note that enabling it now requires manual IT intervention through SQL adjustments. Once we transition to a hosted environment, this manual adjustment will no longer be feasible. Therefore, it's crucial for patron access to our catalog, public machines, and express check that this functionality remains intact.

  14. The Log In pop up disappears if the mouse is ever-so-slightly off the tab, and keeps closing. This can be frustrating. Can this be "sticky" once clicked, so it doesn't disappear while patrons are typing?

  15. If there are no circulating items available and there are no open orders attached, we would like the status in edition information to display as not available instead of on order. On order is confusing when there are no open orders attached to the bib.

  16. We generally prefer serial bibs for multi-volume graphic novels over individual bibs for each volume. Syndetics doesn't seem to understand this set-up. Only the first volume in the series is in color, while the other volumes (which are reflected as ISBNs in the serial bib, and as item records) are grayed-out. This is misleading to patrons. Syndetics should recognize our holdings from all the ISBNs in the bib record.

  17. By default Vega Discover loads zoomed in at 100% which cuts off a lot of useful information for the patron. The first record listed cuts off requiring scrolling and all the "Refine Results" don't show requiring scrolling. Vega requires an excessive amount of scrolling to see basic results. Zooming out to 90% rectifies this issue. I would like the option in admin settings to customize the default zoom level 70-100%. This will enhance the usability of Vega Discover and allow patrons the ability to see more vega options by default.

  18. The filter options that are currently available in Vega don't allow patrons to search by video game platform. We would like to see a new filter or a subfilter for the Format facet that would allow users to refine the search results by console/platform. In our catalog a game like Overcooked, which has multiple editions for Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PlayStation consoles, brings up 14 different results that a patron would need to click into to find the platform for each. With a platform filter they could select Nintendo Switch and apply that to the search to end up with…

  19. It has been requested to index volume record statements to be searchable as it was in Encore. We have local generic bibliographic records that to input alternate titles or other added entries in the bib record would not appropriate; however, if volume statements were searchable, patrons and library members alike could locate desired resources.

  20. We are using the alias in the patron record in Sierra (field group tag c). This field group is indexed in the barcode-index, and patrons can use the alias for logging in to the patron account. The alias can also be used for logging in to the computers at the libraries and also for checking out e-media.

Setting/changing the nickname in Vega has no correlation to the alias in Sierra and only works for logging into Vega.

We fear this might be a bit confusing for our patrons.
So we think changing the nickname in Vega should also insert/update the…
