  1. We've had many patrons request the ability to cancel a hold that is already "held" (i.e., has a "held" status). This can be done through our website and it would be really helpful to extend that functionality to the app.

  2. A way to improve Innovative Mobile would be the addition of a "Share" button attached to individual material. This would allow patrons to share content they find in the application among each other. This type of enhancement would be incredibly helpful to multiple groups of patrons, such as book clubs, learning groups and patron to patron engagement. This enhancement could help increase patron application usage as well.

  3. If we scan an ISBN, and it's not found, the app should return users to the Scan Book landing page. It currently returns users to the main landing page.

  4. The Mobile app currently looks like it does not allow any social media sharing. There are links to X, Facebook, etc. but we do not see an integrated way to share a call number, ISBN, or Title link to the catalog that can be shared on those platforms. We would like the ability to click on a social icon that would transmit a brief info of the item to be posted into the customers social app or email message.

  5. For our elderly and vision-impaired folks - when the display/text on their phone is enlarged, the app display and functionality are very limited. The main problem is, that the menu (and other settings) is inaccessible, so they can't get logged in to the app.

    I have attached a screenshot of how the app displays for some of our staff/patrons with vision impairment. If Menu could be added as a tab above Search so that they could log in, that would be ideal.

  7. Host Innovative Mobile App on Amazon AppStore as well as Google Play and Apple Store. Patrons often have Amazon Kindles for e-reading so it makes sense for them to use our library apps on them as well.

  8. It would be helpful if the format list in the app would adjust based on holdings and suppress any formats for which there are no holdings. For example, we have no globes cataloged in our system, so we would like globe to never show up as a format option, since we don't have any. It just clutters up the format list if the ones for which there are no holdings are also included.

  9. The Innovative Mobile app currently holds onto all successful and unsuccessful self checkout attempts as "receipts". The receipts are in the My Account area and can very much add up to being a lot of entries over time. It would be less cluttered and better if the self checkout receipts retained were only kept for 7-14 days and then disappeared off of the account. Ideally, a patron could also delete unsuccessful self checkout attempts off the account right away.

  10. Right now we have people complaining that the barcode number is too small to read. We have been advising turning to landscape but it would be nice if the barcode number were larger in portrait mode or if you could pinch the number to zoom in.

  11. After the 2023.1 upgrade libraries are going to be listed in order by location. It will be much easier to find a library you're looking for if they're in alphabetical order, so we should have the option of having it work that way rather than it being fixed at being in order by location.

  12. When viewing a serial bib in the mobile app, it currently lists item records (volumes, seasons) in random order. We think it may be ordering by create date - not sure. It would make more sense to patrons to order these numerically, so volume/season 1 first, volume/season 10 last, in descending order. Two examples are presented here (one is for a DVD with several seasons, and one is for a graphic novel with several volumes).

  14. Request: Add the Language Translation Options/Flag to the Description Text field under the Mobile Channel Settings tab for a selected Channel.

    Description: Since this flag indicating language translation options is missing for this field, we are showing multiple languages at the same time for a field which is already longer than other fields as it is a description text field.     The default sort is relevance based on hits in key indexes on the search terms.  It would be a confusing experience for the end user if their search results were automatically sorted by 'most popular' by default.  A post search sort for 'most popular' however would make sense and can be explored. 

  16. With the new app layout, the "Homescreen button" colors in the CMS now affect three different types of buttons: (1) the item alert buttons (overdue, due soon, ready for pickup), (2) the barcode and mobile checkout buttons, as well as (3) the main menu buttons.

    It would be nice if these were three separate settings, so you could choose different treatments for each of these three button types.

  17. The current hamburger menu opens an account menu, rather than the overall app menu. Changing the glyph from the bars glyph (https://fontawesome.com/icons/bars?f=classic&s=regular) to a user glyph (https://fontawesome.com/icons/user?f=classic&s=solid) would make it clearer that this is how you access your library account.

    The menu link is located in the upper right of the app, which is a common place for an account link to go. And when you open this menu, there's already a round user avatar that appears at the top of the account menu. Swapping out the bars glyph for a user glyph would feel totally…

  19. In our consortium, libraries often use item field 108 OPACMSG to indicate NEW or other information that helps patrons find titles within their library. In the app, in a full record display, that information is not available. Could Innovative work with Solus to pull in that field using the Rest API or by another means? It would shed light on titles and reduce confusion with patrons. (As an aside, this same field could be added to the initial brief display within the Mobile Worklists app as well).
