  1. In the staff client if you accidentally have an item record open during a bulk change that includes that item, it will provide an error after the change happens and the change won't happen to the item record that was left open. There should be a warning that alerts the user to close the item record before they can make the bulk change.

  2. Now that we have the capability to do ad hoc bulk changes to item records from the bibliographic record in Polaris 7.6, we also need the ability to delete item records in bulk. The workflow in the Client includes the ability to select multiple item records ad-hoc, right click on them, and press delete (or undelete). Delete and undelete buttons should be added next to the Bulk Change button on the Local Items and All Items tabs of the bibliographic workform in Leap. An alternate option could be to add a delete option to the bulk change.

  3. Being a visual learner it is complicated to go from the icons in Polaris being a much larger size and being in color to what is shown in Leap. The icons in Leap are much smaller and have no color to differentiate them. For the sake of Accessibility purposes is there any way that the icons can be bigger and to add a pop of color to them in Leap. Attached are pictures of the icons in Polaris from the toolbar vs Leap.

  4. When dealing with missing/damaged/canceled orders, we start at the Bib record and link over to the attached POs/Invoices. Right now in LEAP we have to start with the PO or Invoice, which we often don't know when we have the book in hand. I'd like to be able to link from the Bib Record to either Purchase Orders or Invoices or both.

  5. We've discovered the keyboard shortcuts in LEAP do not work when you have cap locks on. Our catalogers are a 50/50 split on those who always have cap locks on while they work and those who don't. I'd like to have the option available for those who find it easiest to catalog with the cap locks and use the shortcuts.

  6. The ability to create keyboard shortcuts to insert (paste) pre-defined text. Prior to the advanced marc editor added in Polaris 7.6, our catalogers were able to use the program QuickPaste in which we had lines and lines of pre-defined text often used in creating bib records. This was a huge time saver and this no longer works with marc editor.

    Some examples of text we programmed are as follows:
    Ctrl+Alt+B – opens a list of pre-defined text which our catalogers could select from when creating book records.

  7. We had a front-line staff member contact us because he was getting a "The domain, username or password is incorrect" error message when he tried to log in to Leap. Support was able to tell us that he was locked out because he had incorrectly typed his password five times. They confirmed that the error message that will be shown when this happens is "The domain, username or password is incorrect." Not only is that error message text factually untrue, it is identical to the error message that a staff person sees if their password actually IS being entered incorrectly.…

  8. Collection Agency Set Up: Can we add the ability to filter out patrons who already have a collection block when we send by item library? Due to financial reporting requirements, we have to send by item library but find many of our patrons end up with more than one collection block which we then need to remove.

  9. Library staff regularly have need to copy a customer's name from their Leap patron record into our room reservation system. Currently you cannot copy the name displayed in the leap patron record header but you can copy the barcode directly below. Clicking into registration isn't helpful as a copy option the name info is in separate fields.

  10. In Leap, after doing a search for record sets (ie. owned by a specific owner), you have to go into the record set in order to delete it. After doing this, it bumps you all the way back out of the Find Tool and the user has to redo the search completely. This is not ideal when attempting to clean up multiple record sets. Ideally there would be the ability to select multiple record sets and do a bulk delete (similar to how you can in the desktop client). Barring that, being bumped back to the search results would at…

  11. When checking out a material and the the patron has history turned on, a pop-up appears saying this patron had out this item with a date or a number of days ago, so the patron doesn't check it out and immediately return it, especially would be helpful with ILL requests.

  12. It would be helpful if we could move rows up and down in the item statistical class code policy table. We have librarians transferring items between branches that have statistical class codes in them. The codes will automatically change to a different code when assigned to the new branch because the position of the code in the policy table does not align. The cataloger must remember to update that field to the correct code.

    This would be beneficial to our librarians, simplify their workflow, and prevent errors.

  13. Similar to the change in 7.6 for Item Changes, it would be beneficial to be able to make the ad hoc changes to patron records. Our libraries could easily change their Juvenile patrons to Adult patrons using the Find tool.

  15. We would like Polaris to transition items with a Circulation Status of Damaged to Withdrawn after a specified time frame. We envision this working like Lost Item Transition and the Missing Item Transition.

    Adding this feature would allow a library to automatically remove items from a patron's record (but still retain any associated charges) and allow for a more streamline process for deleting item records.

  16. LEAP - Outreach Services: When processing held items in Outreach Services, items for a patron will deselect after checking out. This requires staff to go back and reselect the desired items to print a packing list.

    The ability to turn packing lists on such that they print with CKO would be appreciated.

    A prompt to "print packing list?" during CKO would also work.

  17. Today I helped a customer who had three Lost (and billed) items on her account. The items were all designated as Deleted as well. She claimed that she had returned two of the three items through our Automated Materials Handler (AMH) some time ago. The items were set to lost in 2022. The third item she had and returned today. This item having been deleted shows up in Leap as a "no matching record" (NMR) item. And that got me thinking that she may very well have returned the other two items through our AMH and because they read as…

  18. Since you can exclude patron codes that are submitted to collections, you shouldn't be allowed to update the patron code for a patron in collection. We've found that any updates to fines and fees will not be sent to collection management (UMS) and the collection block will not be removed for a patron in collection if they now have a patron code that is excluded from collection.

  20. It would be very helpful to have a more robust item record history. It appears that only the last 12 months of item history is available. It would be great if Polaris would:
    A) keep the history of changes in the item record forever
    B) improve the data that is stored and presented to staff, for example, so we could see what exactly was edited on 7-26-23 in the screenshot attached. Perhaps by clicking on the entry and having the information pop up.
