Damaged Transition
We would like Polaris to transition items with a Circulation Status of Damaged to Withdrawn after a specified time frame. We envision this working like Lost Item Transition and the Missing Item Transition.
Adding this feature would allow a library to automatically remove items from a patron's record (but still retain any associated charges) and allow for a more streamline process for deleting item records.

This transition process is logical and necessary for the workflow to make any sense. The "Damaged" process feels very incomplete right now. There's very little in the way of documentation or SA settings.

I agree with Miles--we initially adopted this workflow and reverted back to our old one in part because of this problem. Since 'declared damaged' is weirdly only a status in Leap, and not its own status in the underlying client, none of our processes to review and delete records for items we no longer have would work with this status. We would only start using the workflow again if the status were regularized and this feature were added.

We're upgrading to 7.6 soon (from 7.4) and this is one of the things that is making me consider suggesting that our staff should not used the "declare damaged" workflow in Leap. If the items with the new "damaged" circ status could automatically be transitioned to withdrawn (very much like the lost item transition), then I would feel a lot better about the whole process.

Just a clarification question - are you using the new Damaged status and declare damaged feature from Polaris 7.5? Or is this a customized status with a "Damaged" description?
