  1. We would like there to be an option to add a note when declaring an item damaged from the patron account. Currently, there is no option to do that (see screenshot).

  2. We would like there to be an option to add a note when resolving lost item charges, processing fees, and overdue fees when checking in a Lost item. Currently, if we want to add a note when waiving processing fees or overdue fees, we have to first charge the fees, then go to the patron record and waive from there after the fact, just so we can add the notes. It would be much easier if we could add the notes right on the screen that pops up (see screenshot).

  3. We think it would be helpful for patrons to see Waiver Requests as "Submitted" or "Pending", "Approved", and "Denied" for better understanding. See screenshot which illustrates the lack of that detail now.

  4. In Polaris, a single delete of a bib/item record will result in that record being 'marked for deletion.' It is no longer visible in the PAC, but is still visible in Polaris with a Deleted status. Deleting a record in Deleted status, or what we've termed 'double-delete,' will result in the record being fully purged from the database.

    Sometimes, staff will delete a record and go back to it to verify the deletion. They see it's still visible in Polaris (missing the Deleted status) and delete it a second time. This accidental purging results in no longer being able to…

  5. Having patrons blocked from placing holds if there account is blocked is greatly needed, as patrons can currently place holds through Leap, Vega, Mobile App even if they are blocked for having too many fines.

  6. We have a Bookmobile service that is setup as it's own branch as well as a holds pickup location. With the limited capacity of this "pickup location", we are trying to restrict the material type loan limit block by location instead of by branch association.

    It would help to have some sort of Policy Table that does Material Type Loan Limit by Branch Pickup Location.

  7. Currently, Floating's Load Balancing option can only be enabled at the System-Level in Polaris. I am on a shared Polaris server where one library system wants Load Balancing and one library system does not want it. This leaves us with not turning the feature on. It would be nice to allow Floating's Load Balancing option to be set at the Library-Level.

  8. I would like to be able to adjust auto-renewals at a Patron level in addition to the item level. This would help some of our patron's who may have difficulty understanding how renewals work. This may seem silly, but we have had some cognitively impaired patrons become severely confused and upset when they think they are "wasting renewal's". Being able to adjust these settings individually at the patron record portion would be extremely helpful. Excluding them from the auto-renewal notice is a band-aid, but this causes other confusing issues with the patrons as a result.

  9. I would like to be able to limit new items to be available only to a specific branch (Library at Home/ Outreach for example) but only for a specific time frame. We have this functionality for a library level, but not branch.

  11. Sometimes a single collection assignment for an item isn't enough. When you want to add an item to a collection only to find that it already belongs to another collection, it would be nice to be able to assign it to your collection as well. The item may belong to an awards collection like Newbery but also to a collection of picture books.

  12. When you are in the Request Manager on Leap, it is possible to select multiple titles and then cancel them all at once - there is no additional confirmation.

    This bulk action can be hard to undo.

    It would be helpful to have a warning dialog box pop-up when staff are attempting this bulk action. Also labelling the "proceed" button as "Cancel Holds" would be helpful as an extra step to ensure that staff are taking the proper action.

  13. It would be handy to be able to re-arrange records listed in the Workform Tracker. Sometimes I'm using a few records for some activity, and it can be confusing to keep track of them (especially since hold queues, hold records, items and bibs can have the same name, even if the icons used are different). The ability to change their order would allow some flexibility, such as allowing a user to place a hold record with the patron record they "belong" with.

  17. To be able to select multiply purchase order line segments and make a bulk change to a particular field, (eg. coll. code, fund code) Sometimes an error occurs in the import process and each line has to be populated manually. It would be amazing to be able to select an entire column and make the change.

  18. When constructing an order, the latest ISBN from the bib record is used. It would be helpful if instead, the vendor could put the preferred ISBN/UPC into the 970 and when the PO was built, that PO number could be pulled from the 970 for the library rather than displaying a red exclamation and requiring the staff to manually check the PO to make sure Polaris selected the proper ISBN/UPC from the order record.
