An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedCentralized notices are a must-have for consortia libraries. Patrons would be inundated with messages if we were not able to consolidate. Library communications would just become spam.

Updating the request based on customer discussion with product to clarify the purpose of the enhancement.
Lisa Bondy supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedI agree that the patron expectation is most likely the book format. It would make sense to make this the default format, unless the patron chooses another format through filters.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedThis sounds like an accessibility issue. It would be helpful if Vega can be customized to display better on smaller screens.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedA dedicated Children's interface should only incorporate Children's materials, especially when linking to other resources. Parents have an expectation that if their child is using a Children's catalog, presumably in the Children's area of the library, that it is safe and appropriate content being linked and recommended.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedPatrons generally don't have their library card barcode numbers handy most of the time. Usernames are more often how they access their information and place holds in our system. Anything that impedes the use of this feature is a detriment to good patron service.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedPatrons should have the ability to control their own reading history, beyond turning it on or off. The ability to delete reading history entries individually makes sense as some items may not be worth keeping in one's history, or some patrons may only choose to keep "liked" items, or only books (not media), etc. It would allow patrons to have some ownership of their reading history, since it is their personal information.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedIt would make the use of the facets quicker if they were automatically applied as you selected them.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedBeing a part of a large consortium, this enhancement would be very helpful and improve the search experience for our patrons. Ideally, it would work best for us if the patron’s home library floated to the top of the location facet, with the option to load more locations.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedIt seems like it could be very useful to create a Showcase based off of a specific Create List search in Sierra.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedAs a cataloger, it is disappointing not to see much of our "work" displayed in Vega records. It would benefit patrons to have note field information in Vega records to determine if the material is the item that best matches their needs.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedThis is a must have as a cataloger. I often use call number, or partial call number, searches to see where we have similar items shelved in our collection. I hope this enhancement will be made possible for Vega.

This idea has been selected to include in Sierra 6.4
An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedIt would make the most sense to allow an item to renew if all existing holds are frozen. It is bad patron service to prevent a valid renewal, force the patron to return the item, only for the item to go back on the shelf. It also keeps materials circulating and in use.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedAllowing these types of limits would enable us to align Sierra restrictions with our library's policies on maximum number of checkouts per category of item. Currently some of our "limits" are staff controlled which can be confusing and time-consuming. This would make it more efficient because Sierra would impose the limit once the max number of items is reached.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedIt would be helpful to see what neighboring libraries in our consortium are ordering. Also, patrons might appreciate knowing how many copies have been ordered especially for popular titles with long wait lists.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedThis feature would be a huge benefit to our consortium. As a coordinator who reports to the system administrator, it can be very frustrating within my own 4-branch library if Offline usage is not reported in a timely manner. By delaying the response time and the time that the files are processed, we may be inadvertently causing checkout errors on patron accounts. If our system had an automated notification when Offline files are uploaded, then the process would be more efficient and we can eliminate the chances for errors.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedIt’s a detriment to good patron service to offer patrons the ability to add a secondary email when that email cannot be used for sending out important library communications. It is best to allow a patron to edit or change their existing email, but only maintain one address in the system to ensure that they are receiving all library messages.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedAdding the CANCEL option at the initial point of making the error would prevent accidentally paying an order record twice and make the invoicing process much more efficient. As a multi-branch library, we often have multiple order records on the same bib record, and items arrive and get paid for on different dates. Staff have accidentally paid on an order record twice in this situation. Once it happens, we have to take multiple steps to fix the error and adjust the fund discrepancies that result. Sometimes we do not even discover the error has been made until days later, which further confuses the situation and complicates correcting it. Having the CANCEL option would make it more clear for staff, especially less experienced staff, and allow them to stop the mistake before it happens.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lisa Bondy commentedKanopy offers a wealth of materials especially for kids. It would beneficial for patrons not already familiar with the database to be able to discover items through the online catalog.

It intuitively makes sense to have the search bar ready to go when landing on the page and can help less tech-savvy patrons as well.
