  2. We think it is very important to provide patrons the option to Select Items to Renew, which would display checkboxes in front of each item for the patron to select multiple checkboxes to renew together.

  5. Our libraries do not use the Always Show a Call Number Option. We only want a call number to display if it's the expected library for the patron. Because of this the Find a Copy link does not always appear if only a few libraries have the item. We would like it to show consistently as removing it creates an extra step & an inconsistent experience when browsing. Clicking on "Find a copy" is helpful even if only a few libraries have the item since it pulls up the whole list of libraries that own the item and doing so…

  6. When using the hold shelf functions of IMMS (Intelligent material Management System), customers are unable to see in Vega which hold shelf their items are ready to pickup on.

    Workarounds are required by staff to fill this gap, and customers are encouraged to use other applications which does show this information.

    It would be great to have the hold shelf placement details displayed in Vega, for items ready for pickup.

  7. Our patrons who speak and read other languages need to be able to see our world language material records in their own language, including the 264 information, not just the title, author, and series. For Chinese materials, our users can distinguish Traditional Chinese materials from Simplified Chinese materials by checking the place of publication, and they can only do this if they can see that info in their language. As pictured in the screenshots, the old PAC shows the transliteration AND vernacular script, whereas Vega only shows the transliteration. Our users need to see both.

  8. Since some libraries in our consortium are fine free and others are not, patrons would like to know what library owns the item(s) they have checked out as to avoid unnecessary fines. Or they may simply like to return it to the owning library to save delivery work. Generally, it is good information to have visible to patrons.

  9. We have libraries complain that patron are confused due to the routing codes being present after the owning library in the Vega display (see screenshot).

    It would be great if we can somehow mask this, or add the locations to the translation file to get rid of this display.

  10. Currently, Vega sorts book, eBook, large print, audio CD, and eAudio. I'm proposing we change this to book, large print, audio CD, then digital resources. Most patrons search for digital media via Libby rather than the main online catalog.

    Additionally, putting DVDs before Blu-Ray would help lower the amount of patrons accidentally ordering Blu-Ray when they really wanted the DVD. Re-ordering this would lower the amount of accidental hold requests for the wrong media type.

  11. We would like to have the ability to sort Edition Information for an item by other identifiers such as Availability, Publisher, etc. This will help with customizing the user's experience a bit more when looking at the particular editions that they would like.

  12. Currently, only Vega showcases that are created from a set of bookmarks can be displayed on Record Pages, which is NOT an option for showcases from saved searches. In some cases, we prefer using saved searches vs. bookmarks, as they are easier to maintain. We still want to see those showcases show up on record pages. The documentation (https://documentation.iii.com/vega/admin/admin/Create_Showcase.htm) doesn't call out this limitation in the "To create a showcase from a saved search" section. We found out the hard way, after creating saved searches/showcases, had to recreate as bookmarks (and now maintain).

  13. We would like the option to hide the due date column, since it's not very reliable information. Our consortium has autorenew, so there is no guarantee the items will be returned on the date that displays to patrons, in fact it's rather unlikely given the rate at which our items autorenew.

  14. We would like the brief availability to be more specific than it is, similar to the way the PAC is in the brief display (see screenshots). It should have specific numbers rather than say "one or more locations". If it can't be displayed in that spot, then it should be displayed below the Place Hold button where it lists the number of holds and copies.

  15. Users have requested a "Select" option when viewing checkouts, holds, etc. in My Bookshelf. Ideally, this option would behave the same way it works in Innovative Mobile; users would be able to specify multiple titles and then renew them at the same time. The "bulk renew" option that was recently added to Vega Discover sort of addressed this, but users want to be able to select specific titles.

  16. Keep the search bar throughout ALL Discover pages. Similar to Google or any search engine - it should always be at the top and would make searching more convenient because it would avoid having to navigate back to the home page of the catalog.

  17. This will help staff let patrons know where the notice will be sent when placing a hold on their behalf. It will also show patrons where to expect the notice to be sent to when they place holds.

    The red box in the attached screenshot would say the following:

  18. We would like to be able to remove "advanced search" from the kids cat, however it appears that it is enabled across all the collection and kiosk sites if it is turned on. We would like to be able to enable it at the collection/kiosk site level if needed.

  19. Just like the facets column can be suppressed once you have set your search filters. The header should be the same way. It would be nice to be able to hide it once a patron is logged in & no longer needs it as it take up some screen real estate.

  20. Add contributors, such as translator, illustrator or foreword author to the edition bib-frame info "i" window to better distinguish between different editions of a title. Most people are likely looking for contributors when choosing between editions.
