Preview Bib for SHR and Hold creation
It would be useful if Leap had an equivalent for the following client functionality:
Right click on bib search results to see a preview of the record. This is a time-saver when creating new serial holdings records and when placing holds in cases where titles may be similar.10 votes -
Better printing of Record Sets
Record set printing is often a mystery -
I often need to print a List View, but the printed result is very unpredictable.
Sometimes it turns out how I want, but other times the page is limited to the top of the page (see attached photo), and 3 times as many pages print since the whole page size isn't utilized. It seems to depend on the size of the columns and how many are hidden, etc, but I can't be sure what factors make it work. The best workaround seems to be printing to pdf, checking it, and then printing…

020 Field Character Limit Should Exceed 50 Characters & Not Reject Placing an Item On Order
We are having manually placed orders rejected because the 020 field for large print books sometimes exceeds the 50 character limit. Polaris/Leap will accept 020 fields that are up to 49 characters, but not for OCLC MARC records that have extended to 54 characters. This happens whether we are attaching to an existing record in Polaris/Leap or for a new one imported from OCLC/Connexion. It seems completely arbitrary that 49 characters are accepted, but 54 characters -- just a few over the limit -- are not. Thanks for looking into & considering this request.

Allow for creating links to bib records from within an authority record
This might be coming in 8.0 - it's not on the roadmap, but maybe it's too small to feature there. In the Polaris client, within an authority record, there is an option to create links to bib records (see attached screenshot). This same functionality should also be included in Leap in order for cataloguers to fully switch over to Leap.

Leap: include examples for pub pattern creation
Staff find the examples provided in the client helpful when creating a new pub pattern. It would be great to see the same in Leap.

Allow a patron to be excluded from Overdue notices but not from Billing notices
Currently when libraries in our consortium lend an ILL item to other libraries that are not part of our consortium, part of our process is checking out the item in a patron account in Leap -- for tracking the status of the item, for statistics, and to make use of the ILS notices functions.
We do not want Overdue notices to go to those other libraries, but we would want Billing notices to go to them when appropriate. There are also a few other specific situations (some children's groups, some institutional/organizational patrons) where we would prefer to skip Overdue notices…

Suppress Deleted Items from Staff View
With the option to retain deleted item records, results for staff can become cluttered with items that are no longer available. If we could suppress the display of "Deleted" items list on a bib (similarly to the suppression of "Discard" status items in the OPAC) this would allow us to retain item details for historical/statistical purposes without inconveniencing staff. It would be useful to suppress bibs where all items are deleted as well, but I can understand if that would need to be spun off into separate development.
This could be done as a setting, so that they don't surface…

link to specific copy to fill hold
There have been many times when we've needed to know which specific copy(barcode) is in transit to fill a hold. Currently the only option seems to be going thru each item record to see which is attached to the customer record. Very annoying and time consuming. Perhaps on the Holds Queue screen could include a column (Item Assigned) to list the barcode filling the hold when a hold has been trapped. Or on the Hold Request screen, on the Satisfied By menu a indicator of which item is being used for that hold. Or both.

Standard Identifier Number search option in Leap
In the client, you can do a bibliographic search by "standard identifier number" and it searches a bunch of different possible fields (the corresponding power search: (((ISBN="1234" OR ISSN="1234") OR (OSI="1234" OR STRN="1234")) OR (((PN="1234" OR CODEN="1234") OR OCN="1234") OR (SOA="1234" OR UPC="1234*")))). We would also like to see this option in Leap.
Currently, staff don't get results for a scanned barcode unless they choose the correct field to search and the indicators in the record are properly set. This means they often get no results and incorrectly assume we don't have…

Leap - Copy fund allocations
I am writing to request an enhancement for the Leap Acquisitions module. Currently, the system does not allow users to copy fund allocation numbers.
When adjusting funds, the Encumbrance and Expenditure Fund Balance Limits often do not update automatically. This requires me to manually re-type the "Total Allocated" amount into six different limit fields. Manually entering the same 6-digit or 7-digit numbers multiple times is not only time-consuming but also creates a significant opportunity for manual entry errors.
Could you please update the system to allow copying from the "Total Allocated" line and pasting into the limit fields? This small…

Improve usability for Leap authority searching
The option to link headings from a bib in Leap was a needed improvement, but there are still issues which hinder the feasibility of cataloging in Leap.
When using the "check headings" feature, the search defaults to the local database. When you switch to searching remote databases, the search term is deleted, meaning that you have to copy and paste or retype the search. It would be very helpful if the "Authority Record" and "Authority Record (remote databases)" options were combined. Ideally, I would see a single Authority Record search option which defaults to local records but gives the option…

Check against load limits for floating coll. items checking in at any branch, not just at a different branch than item's assigned location
For floating collections items, enable LEAP to check the load limit and send away the item if the limit has been reached when checking in ANY floating collections item at ANY floating-enabled branch, even when the item in question is currently assigned to the branch where the item is being checked in. Not doing this for items being checked in at their currently assigned location leads to the need for manual rebalancing to keep collections from overflowing at a particular location. The load limits and automatic rebalancing should work for all floating item and location combos.

Eliminate the barcode requirement for placing holds on on-order multivolume set records and serials
At this time, holds on the serials and multivolume set records are not functioning in an efficient manner when the title is not under serial control. Examples include manga, college guides, or test prep guides. In PowerPAC and Leap, patrons and staff cannot place volume level holds when the associated item is on order and does not have a barcode. It is not part of the staff's normal workflow to add a barcode to on-order items until the physical item arrives at the library. As long as a volume is in the volume field, Polaris should be able to identify…

Holds Un-Claimed Blocking Threshold
Blocking a patron from being able to place holds when holds unclaimed reaches a set limit/threshold within 6 months would be beneficial. There is a great deal of staff time and financial resources that gets wasted when items on hold shelves never get picked up and checked out. The block could auto-clear after a set time period.

LEAP: Supplier Record Reminder - Needed for Miscellaneous-Type Invoices
Miscellaneous invoices are created and used to pay for materials that are not linked to bib records. These invoices always need to have a Supplier record chosen for our finance purposes. Misc. invoices can be saved and payed without a supplier, however, Polaris always gave a reminder prompt if one is not chosen. In LEAP there is no reminder. We would like the same prompt to be added to LEAP. Making these invoices happens infrequently for some staff, so the reminder is helpful.

Make phone number searching better
This request is for a new feature to improve phone number search capabilities, specifically by handling varied formatting in the free-text phone number field.
The current phone number search often fails because it's a simple text match that can't account for different formats like hyphens, spaces, or parentheses. Staff will sometimes report back to a patron that their phone number isn't in the system because they didn't search for it in the way it was entered into the patron's record. This can then frustrate patrons if they continued to get called or texted by the notification system.
Implementing a search…

Carousel images
It would be nice to be able to add an image to a MARC record in Polaris that will show up in the PAC. We once used Verso as our ILS and they had the option to add image paths using 856 electronic and access field. Images often do not accompany records (particularly with DVDs) and our front page content carousel ends up looking sparse and ugly due to lack of images.

More customization for Leap Check In screen
We are a large consortium with over 40 branches. Each one prefers their check-in screen a little differently. Some would like to see less information on the check-in screen while others would like to see more. And some would like to remove some columns and add different ones. Can we have more customization on the admin side so we can add/remove fields for libraries when asked? Right now we can only choose from the given list: Title, Material Type, Shelf Location, Call Number, Patron Name, Assigned Branch, Collection. Some libraries would like to see the Loan Period Code... specifically.

Add PAPI method to merge bibliographic records
Adding this to PAPI would allow this process to be performed without SQL access and also fully leverage all of the existing Polaris business logic. It would also allow hosted customers to utilize the functionality.
