  1. Add a running total to the Fiscal Year - Funds tab - FREE BALANCE column.
    This will allow a quick check of the year's budget 'bottom line' to see what the balance to be spent is.

  2. We recently had a location close for a few weeks for a construction project. During that time, we turned it off as a holds pickup option in the PAC. However, patrons who were logged into their accounts and had that location as their default holds pickup location could still place holds for pickup at that location using One-Click. The only way to completely stop patrons placing holds for pickup at our closed location was to disable One-Click completely.   3. Most of our libraries loan the library of things and museum passes to their own patrons. However, since all members use Adult Resident patron code for their resident patrons, it is not possible to limit materials to their own patrons. Could a checkout setting be added to the item records, similar to the hold setting "patrons from this library and branches" and "x days past first available".

  4. When you refresh the Offline installation in Leap it would be good to present the URL for Offline mode bookmarking again. The suggestion would be to show it in the pop-up toast message once the offline data is refreshed.

    There currently is not an easy way for staff to get to the Offline link again without deleting the offline files and setting it up again.

  5. We have found it hard to work with the Current and Recent workfrom menu when working with lots of Patron Records, or more commonly, Duplicate Patron Records.

    Names work, but when names are similar or the same it can be hard to figure out which records are which.
    Sometimes staff are working with Barcodes as a reference vs. patron names.

    It would be nice to have a subtext under the Patrons name in the Current and Recent workform list that shows the last 4 digits or the full barcode underneath the patron name.

  6. When the callnumber column is pulled from itemrecorddetails via SQL (as opposed to SimplyReports) it includes trailing and leading spaces. It's easy to fix these unwanted spaces in the client, but they don't show up at all in Leap, so can't be fixed. If Leap is to replace the client eventually, it would be great to able to fully edit these fields in Leap (we are hosted, so can't easily modify the data via SQL).

We were told that in order to activate volume level requests in the PAC and in Vega, we would have to turn off the ability for item level requests to be placed, since it's an either or setting (see attached). However, we need to be able to offer our patrons both options. In the case of volume level requests, we can't have patrons getting a random volume that they might not even want when they place a title level hold. Since we also have patrons that use item level requesting, we can't just turn that off in favor of volume…

  8. Currently, if I want to add series information for a book in the item record when I link it, I would need to put it in the volume field. It'd be nice if there was an easy way to indicate if a book is part of a series and where it falls in the series without it creating a super long call number.   10. Our library team have requested to be able to see the series name and volume number in the returned bib records when searching with the find tool. It will mean they no longer need to open each result to see this information

  11. Please expand the search functionality to include searching and pulling results for both the 024#a MARC tag, as well as 020#a

  12. A recent change to PAPI allows for the retrieval of, and adding to, different types of records sets, including Patrons, Bibs, and Items. Adding to Patron and Bib records sets is straight forward because there are existing endpoints within PAPI that return BibRecordID and PatronRecordID numbers. This isn't the case with Item record sets because there a currently no endpoints that provide an item's RecordID. This enhancement would add the ItemRecordID to each row in the BibHoldingsGet response.

  13. The Language field was added to Polaris in 7.4 (I believe). The only way to update the Language field is to manually update each item record manually. As you can imagine, that is very time-consuming. It would be ideal if our Collection Management department could pull the appropriate item records into a record set and then do a batch update of the Language field.

  14. Could you please look into providing an input field on SQL Find tool searches to allow the library staff to easily enter a search parameter e.g. an items barcode, a patron barcode.
    At the moment with the SQL FIND TOOL searches we have created, we must teach them to go to the WHERE clause and correctly change the parameter before re-executing the query.
    A dedicated entry parameter would simplify the use and training of SQL searching using the FIND tool.

  15. I would like to be able to have a particular hold become active after a different hold has become filled. This is particularly useful for customers who are engaged in a series and do not want them all at once, but do want them in order and want to place all the holds at the same time.

  17. When a record (item, bib, etc.) is opened from Find results and then marked as deleted, it (and the Find results) are automatically closed. It would great if the record did not close (leaving the Results button available) or the record closed and returned the user to the Find results.

  18. Hold duplicate detection has a flaw that allows duplicate hold requests to be placed on the same titles. The detection seems to apply on title and author information stored with the hold request (apparently on the SysHoldRequestSearchTerms table), which stores point-in-time title/author details that may change if the bib record is overlayed or edited.

    This idea is for improving the duplicate detection to fix this gap, but also any similar gaps I may be missing where title-related data is stored separately when the hold is created, and referenced by the dupe detection (I'm not seeing separate tables storing elements like…

  19. When entering new accounts in to LEAP, we enter the patron zip code and the city is automatically filled out. At Phoenix libraries, if the city is not Phoenix, we have to remember to change the patron code to Maricopa and the expiration date to only one year. Could these 2 fields also be automatically filled out by the zip code information. It would save a lot of jumping from the top of the registration form to the bottom and back...and could save mistakes when we have a LOT of outreach library card forms to enter.
