Registration confirmation email as part of patron self-registration
My library would like an email to be sent to patrons who use the self-registration form in the PAC with a confirmation that the registration has gone through and with reminder information that they will need to come in to complete their full registration. This would also allow us to confirm that we have a correct contact for the patron.

Allow searching more than 10 remote databases at a time in Leap
There's no limit (that we've run into, anyway) in the desktop client to the number of z39.50 remote databases you can search at a time, but Leap has implemented a 10 database limit. If there needs to be a limit, can it be slightly higher at least?

Export authority records from Leap
As of 8.0, users can export MARC bibliographic data, but not MARC authority data. Can this utility be updated to also allow export of authority data? This would help catalogers during cleanup and maintenance projects, and it would make Leap functionality align with the desktop client.
Example of a case where this function would be useful: Vendors like Backstage may ask for a sample of existing authority records. Being able to use Leap to export MARC authority files would help libraries with limited or no desktop client access.11 votes -
Carousel images
It would be nice to be able to add an image to a MARC record in Polaris that will show up in the PAC. We once used Verso as our ILS and they had the option to add image paths using 856 electronic and access field. Images often do not accompany records (particularly with DVDs) and our front page content carousel ends up looking sparse and ugly due to lack of images.

LEAP POLI linking needed
POLI does not link to the supplier record. Bibliographic record does not link to POLI or invoice line item unlike in the Client.
Add functionality in LEAP to not only link from Bib to PO or Invoice but also link to line item.

Leap: Create item record from serial issue record
In the Polaris Toolbar, when handling serial issue records, there was a direct action (called "Create Item Record") that would create an item record from a serial issue record. This is helpful for our staff for copying over enumeration and designation information.
That same action is not present in Leap. Our staff would appreciate having this feature in Leap.

Add newer LEAP Pagination to MARC Import Background Processing Screen
The Background Processing screen (specifically under MARC Import) does not currently support the newer LEAP pagination options available in other, more recent LEAP screens. This creates usability challenges when reviewing and managing historical imports.
Problem:
The current interface relies on a “More” button to load additional records page by page rather than having the option to load all and setting the record count to view. This creates several issues:
• Staff must repeatedly click “More” to access older records, which is inefficient and time-consuming
• There is no option to “load all” or quickly navigate to a specific point in…11 votes -
Comprehensive Audit Trail for System Administration Changes
Implement a detailed and accessible audit log for all configuration changes made within the Polaris ILS System Administration (SA) and "adjacent" modules.
Description of the Problem
The Polaris ILS lacks a granular, searchable audit trail for System Administration changes. This makes it difficult to determine who made a specific change, when it occurred, and what the previous setting was. This ambiguity hinders troubleshooting when a configuration error occurs, complicates training, and reduces accountability.
Proposed Solution
A comprehensive, transaction-based audit log that automatically records the following data for every saved change in the SA module:
Timestamp: The precise date and time…

Leap: Prevent web browser from asking to update password when resetting patron password
We use Microsoft Edge for Leap, and use Edge's password manager to remember the Leap login password.
When staff open a patron record and reset a patron's password, the browser thinks we are resetting the password for Leap and asks if we want to update the Leap login password (see attached screenshot). Staff sometimes click "Update" on this prompt, not realizing that this is changing the stored login password for Leap. Staff are then unable to login to Leap the next day because the browser populates the Leap login page with the wrong password.
This popup should not be appearing…

Web System Admin "return to results" from a staff or workstation workform.
The new Web version of System Administration is great, but I was sad to learn when upgrading from Polaris 7.7 to 8.0 that the search filter box for Workstations and Staff Users is no longer "sticky". In 7.7, I could enter a search for one of our Branches, click on a workstation, edit it, close it, and return to my filtered-by-branch search. Now, when you leave a workform, you return back to the full workstation list. Same for staff members. I'd like a button similar to the Leap "return to results" button in the workstation and staff member modules of…

Messaging and/or reporting for patrons updated by age
With the new option to update patron codes based on age criteria (which we're excited about!), it would be useful to be able to send notices to patrons whose account type was auto-updated and/or to pull a report we could use for sending out messaging to the impacted patrons in our newsletter platform.

Consistent Collection Name Display in Cataloging and Acquisitions Modules
We would like to submit an enhancement request regarding the display of collection names in the system.
Currently, the Cataloging module displays the collection name together with its abbreviation, while the Acquisitions module only shows the first part of the collection name in the dropdown list. This difference in display may cause confusion for staff when selecting or identifying the correct collection.
We would like to propose an enhancement so that the collection name display is consistent across both modules, ideally showing the full collection name together with its abbreviation, similar to the display in the Cataloging module.
This improvement…

Create custom circulation statuses
To be able to create customized circulation statuses that work for our system versus using the only given statuses. For example, the ability to create various Withdrawn - Leased, Condition, Relevancy. This would then offer additional feedback for staff when stats are ran to determine why materials were withdrawn versus they were.
13 votesFor the withdrawn example, does this really require custom circulation statuses? Or just a way to indicate/query the reason an item was withdrawn?
The reason Polaris has traditional restricted circulation statuses is because of our automated processes around certain statuses. Using the withdrawn example, our automatic Lost/Missing to Withdrawn processing would not know about custom statuses or which one to use.
If we reworked this enhancement as needing to be able to track/report on withdrawn reasons, we could plan for that within the automated processes.

Automatically change items stuck in transit to missing
Some items get stuck in transit and are never found again, it would be nice if these could automatically transition to missing after a customizable period of time, similar to Lost -> Withdrawn and Missing -> Withdrawn.

Conditional Required State for Fields on Registration
We would like to be able to control whether or not a given field is required on registration based on the patron code selected. For example, we have a "No Permanent Address" patron code where ideally, address would not be required when that is selected. Or, we use one of our User Defined Fields for Parent/Guardian Information, which we would love to make required when a patron code indicating a minor is selected.

Leap - Give the option to overlay a record while comparing multiple MARC records
When comparing bib records in Leap, it would be nice to be able to choose the bib to keep and overlay the other with. This would streamline deduplicating similar records.

Configuration for Patron Fields to Copy
When creating multiple records for a family, our staff often copy the patron record when creating the next. Unfortunately, they sometimes changes some needed fields when copying. It would be great to be able to configure what fields are copied in a patron record. For instance, not copy the birthdate and the first/middle name. From what I can see, this is currently not available. https://documentation.iii.com/leap/8.0/Default.htm#LEAP1_0/Patrons/Copy_an_existing_patron_record.htm

Suppress RFID dialog during slip printing.
QZ Direct to Print has helped streamline slip printing in Leap but one annoying dialog we didn't have to deal with in the staff client remains. During an RFID operation, if Leap is asked to print a receipt, RFID processing is paused (suspended) to allow the receipt to be printed. A pop up message appears to allow the user to continue RFID processing of any remaining items once the receipt is printed. There is currently no way to suppress this message.

Leap Login Setting: Set Default Branch to Workstation's Assigned Branch

At our organization, most staff are transacting in Leap on a desktop computer that is installed at a particular location.…8 votes -
Non-blocking Note limit Increase
We have recently been coming up against an error when adding additional notes to the Non-blocking notes field. There is a current character limit of 4,000 characters that's not noted anywhere I could find on the help section. Can this character limit be updated, as there are many instances where notes need to be kept for historical purposes?
