  1. When a library card is expired a large red box appears on the screen to say the library card is expired. Can we get that same type of box for an account that has a balance and a Blocking note?

  2. Please add more options for adding records in a record set to purchase orders or selection lists in Leap. Currently, the only actions in Leap are to bulk add records to a new or existing PO; the Polaris client also has options to add all records to a new or existing selection list, to add selected records to a new or existing PO, or to add selected records to new or existing selection lists. (See screenshots.)

  3. When scanning materials into a weeding-type record set, the system throws (broadly) two types of toasts - yellow and red. The yellow toasts very helpfully specify in what exact manner the given item does not match weeding criteria filters. However, the red toasts (excluding "Barcode is invalid" and the indication an item is already in a weeding record set) do not specify in what exact manner the given item falls outside the inclusion criteria.

  4. Label printing can be a limited function in a large library system, using specialized printers to perform the task. Consistency is also important in the spine label. By being able to control access to this utility, it will ensure a better spine label product across a library system.

  5. We have locations that would like greater options for customizing checkout receipts. In particular, they would like to add an image at the bottom -- a library logo, or a graphic version of the library name, or a periodically changeable "word bubble" graphic promoting upcoming activities at the library.

  6. Acquisitions staff frequently need to bulk change item records for a specific order. This is commonly done for orders that were placed manually instead of using EDI or if Polaris created item records using the wrong template. In the Client, it can efficiently be done as an ad hoc bulk change by opening the list of items that are linked to a PO or invoice. The ad hoc bulk change button should be added to the tab that contains the list of item records linked to the PO and Invoice in Leap in order to make this process more efficient.…

  7. When working with an SL4 or any label type that has a spine and pocket label, allow for alignment to vary between the spine portion and pocket portion. This is important for how we label our picture books. We center align the first 3 letters (with linebreaks) of the author's name. Setting alignment to center also center aligns the pocket label. Attempting to manually adjust spacing by using spaces in left alignment is not ideal with letters like "I" not really being centered. See below:

  9. When creating multiple records for a family, our staff often copy the patron record when creating the next. Unfortunately, they sometimes changes some needed fields when copying. It would be great to be able to configure what fields are copied in a patron record. For instance, not copy the birthdate and the first/middle name.   10. We have noticed an uptick in libraries circulating items on on-order records despite it violating consortia policy. We would like to see the text of on-order records (or even just specific fields) be in a different color to help provide a visual indicator of the record type.

  11. It would be helpful to have a "view password" option in the login for library patrons/guests. I have gotten feedback from patrons who are visually impaired that having this feature would make logging in to their library account much easier, allowing them to identify typing errors before submitting their login information. The view password feature seems to be such a standard across wide array of platforms, pages, and applications. Why wouldn't a library be able to offer it?

  12. Please combine the items and the statistics on the bib record into one section so that we can see circ stats and item status without having to click multiple areas. We need this data to help us determine whether an item should be transferred from another branch, repaired, or replaced. Attached is how it looks in Staff Client, and it would be great if we could see this view in LEAP.

  13. You should be able to search in the Find Tool by record modification date. So far I'm seeing this missing from Record Sets, Patron Accounts, etc.. This would make it easier to Find Records without having to resort to using SQL which makes it much more accessible to all staff.

  14. If you are adjusting the column settings for Leap, the list of available options is not in alphabetical order. This makes it easier to overlook what options might be available to select.

  16. We recently had a patron complain about receiving 2nd hold notices and hold cancellation notices. Is it be possible to add these notices under "exclude from notices and reminders" in the patron account?

  17. In the Client, there are undo and redo buttons. The undo button is particularly useful when someone has made a mistake. It quickly allows staff to correct the mistake by pressing a single button. When training technical services staff to use Leap, this button is clearly missed. Having this button will make the transition to Leap easier. Questions and comments about the lack of the undo button are common during training.

  18. Our system uses over 20 patron codes but less than half are used when first registering an account. We'd appreciate the ability to suppress some patron codes from the patron code dropdown menu in the NEW patron workform (but not when displaying an existing patron account that has already been saved and had a patron ID assigned). This would cut down on staff accidentally selecting the incorrect patron code when registering accounts.

  19. Polaris currently (as of 7.8) offers some limited customization of which fields in the patron registration form in Leap are required to save a record.

    When the "Name on ID" fields were introduced several releases ago (7.2?) we were excited. However, the way the feature was implemented meant that the primary name fields were now the "preferred name" fields and were required to be filled out in order to save a record. However, a record could be saved without recording a name on ID.

  20. When staff opens a patron's record, add a shortcut feature that allows them to print out patron barcodes. This will really help when someone comes in and don't have their library card with them, so wants to get their barcode information
