  1. It would be great if staff could create a record set of patrons to delete and a supervisor could review them before deletion, similar to how item records can be reviewed in a record set by a supervisor before deletion.

  2. Our site manager said this was a previous long-standing enhancement request and suggested I check here and vote on it. I can't find anything that matches, so am starting an idea.

We have several patrons at different branches placing holds on items they already checked out so as to bypass our unwritten guideline of leaving items available to others for 24 hours before being checked out again. Now, for older items this isn't a problem and staff are allowed to make exceptions, but this practice is becoming a issue. We do allow one renewal, but apparently this isn't enough for…

  3. Collection Agency Set Up: Can we add the ability to filter out patrons who already have a collection block when we send by item library? Due to financial reporting requirements, we have to send by item library but find many of our patrons end up with more than one collection block which we then need to remove.

  4. The patron birthdate field and postal code field both require correct formatting to save the record. If would be helpful to staff if Leap could have auto-formatting (as many web forms do), e.g. insert the dashes in the birthdate (yyyy-mm-dd) and capitalize and insert the space in the postal code (A1A 1A1).

Adding the calendar date picker back for the birthdate field would also be great, assuming that the issues it used to cause could be resolved.

  6. Currently, when a patron is placing a request for ILL via OCLC in the Polaris PAC, Polaris offers a "local item" to hold if the item is in the local Polaris database. Unfortunately, I have just learned from my Site Manager it is only checking title/author to suggest a match, not format. We have seen the PAC suggest a "local item" for different format (DVD when a Blu-Ray is requested; regular print when a large print is requested) in addition to different item entirely (a remake of a movie when the original is requested; a tv adaptation when a feature…

  7. We'd like to have a way to place multiple holds at once. The existing multiple holds option doesn't quite do that as it still requires re-entering the title and selecting it for each copy needed while in the holds area of an account. For a book club, for example, it would be much faster and easier to select a title to hold and have a way to say we want 15 copies from this bib record, rather than have to select it title 15 times.

  8. Sometimes a single collection assignment for an item isn't enough. When you want to add an item to a collection only to find that it already belongs to another collection, it would be nice to be able to assign it to your collection as well. The item may belong to an awards collection like Newbery but also to a collection of picture books.

  9. Please add a Save option for the full picklist so any items removed will stay removed.

When we go to Utilities > Outreach Services > Picklist, we see the full picklist for all Outreach Services (ORS) patrons. We can find a title either by scrolling through the list or using the filter to search by patron or title. We can select the title and then press "Remove from list". The full picklist displays and the selected title no longer appears on the list.

However, there isn't an option to Save here.

If we select "refresh," we receive a warning that…

  13. When an item hold has the status of Not-Supplied, if this item then becomes available eg if a a lost item is returned, the not-supplied status doesn't automatically retrigger the hold.
Currently you have to go in and manually reactive the hold.

  14. There is currently no warning if a patron selects titles in one of their saved title lists with the intent to place a request but then accidentally clicks the Remove button instead.

Providing either a warning message, as is the case for things like canceling holds, or putting deleted titles in something like a trash can for 30 days or so, would prevent accidental deletion and related frustration and improve the user experience.

  15. Current functionality says "If the item is held at your library (the pickup branch is the same as your log-in branch), and you change the pickup branch, the hold will automatically change from Held to Shipped."

We would like this to function the same as if the item is not at your location and mark the item so it appears on the holds to transfer list. The staff will then scan the item to mark it as shipped. We have staff that work at different service points no where near our holds shelves and it would be convenient if they…

  16. We would like the ability to match POLIs with on-order item templates on more data points, specifically shelf location, statistical code, and call number prefix. I expect that this means there would need to be extra fields to enter the POLI, and that would work out fine if that enabled the item records to be created accurately.

Our libraries use different shelf locations, statistical codes, and call number prefixes for items within the same collection. When placing an order, items are created from the on-order item templates, and only match on 3 data points: assigned branch, collection, and material type.…

  17. Currently, a patron's current charges (for fines, etc.) can be listed on their emailed checkout receipts, but not on their printed checkout receipts. It would be very useful for patrons if the printed checkout receipts could also include this information.

  18. When you are in the Request Manager on Leap, it is possible to select multiple titles and then cancel them all at once - there is no additional confirmation.

This bulk action can be hard to undo.

It would be helpful to have a warning dialog box pop-up when staff are attempting this bulk action. Also labelling the "proceed" button as "Cancel Holds" would be helpful as an extra step to ensure that staff are taking the proper action.

  19. LEAP - Outreach Services: When processing held items in Outreach Services, items for a patron will deselect after checking out. This requires staff to go back and reselect the desired items to print a packing list.

The ability to turn packing lists on such that they print with CKO would be appreciated.

A prompt to "print packing list?" during CKO would also work.

  20. There are multiple reports in the "canned reports" available through the Staff Client and through SSRS that deliver incomplete and/or absolutely wrong data.

For instance, the Patron Register report only looks at extant patrons in the Polaris database right now. That means that, if a library had a patron purge, those patrons are gone. If one runs a Patron Register report after the purge for a time before the purge, the registration numbers will absolutely be wrong. This would also be true where patron merges or general cleanups have taken place.

Another report, Circulation by Postal Code has a logic…
