Vendor-Profile SIP2 Due Date Formatting
In the i-tiva 3.0 dial-in process, there are menu navigation issues caused by a SIP2 Due Date (AH field) formatting issue. These issues cause the dial-in process to fail.
In SIP2 message 18 (Item Information), Polaris is currently returning the Due Date in the following format:
DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS
Because the SIP2 standard does not define or enforce a required date format, i-tiva relies on vendor-compatible parsing. i-tiva has confirmed that this specific format is not parsed correctly and results in call-flow failures.
i-tiva supports the following date formats, any of which would resolve the issue:
• DD/MM/YYYY
• D-M-YY

Add 'Hold Activated/Created" to item history
It would be useful to have in the item history when a hold was activated. I had an instance where an item was put on hold for the wrong account, and it would have been useful to see who had placed the hold or where it had been added. I figure you can see this from the hold record, but the staff member who had received the accidental holds cancelled them before we got a chance to look at it.

If Leap quick search doesn't find a record, don't clear the text
A staff member asked us to post this. When using the quick search in leap and typing in a query does not lead to a record, the text should stay inputted so the staff member can edit their query as opposed to having to retype it all over again when trying again.

Parent/responsible party information in registration
We would like an optional field for parent or guardian information in the registration form.
We don't require parents to have library cards if they only want their children to have cards, and we have instances where only children can qualify for free cards (school district vs county lines). It would be great to include a parent name, DOB, and DL# in the child's registration without using fields that prompt duplication notices.

Make it easier to filter the list of SQL Searches in Find Tool
We have dozens of SQL searches, however it can be hard to find them. They are presented in an alphabetical list, but over the years our naming isn't always consistent. It would be great if you could filter the name drop-down like you filter can in other areas of Leap.
So, for example, if I typed "volume" it would show many any SQL search with Volume in the name. Bonus points might be if we could also be searching some of the SQL search contents itself because maybe I want to find all SQL searches that query a particular field…

Leap doesn't save or prompt to save notes when you close a record
- Open a patron record in leap
- Navigate to the notes section
- Make a change to the note field
- Click the button to close the note (upper right hand corner)
The note is not saved, nor is a warning message shown. This is different from the behavior of the desktop, which always saves the note when you close the record (not really the preferred behavior either since there is no undo in notes).
This should work the way changes to the patron registrations work in Leap - warn there has been a change before allowing the record to be closed.

Add Library Level to Hold Pickup Limit
Currently, a library may limit an item to be holdable for pickup at a single branch location. This setting allows the item to be limited to pick up at the item's assigned branch only. While this feature may work for single-branch libraries, it does not function in a practical way for multi-branch libraries. Expanding this feature to have a library-level option would increase the usability of this setting.
Example 1: Library A has 3 branches. They want to make their mobile hotspots holdable for pickup at any of their 3 branches. They do not want their hotspots to be placed…

Autowaive Fine for Returned Withdrawn Items
We would like, when items with a Withdrawn status are returned by patrons in a good enough condition to still circulate, for the replacement fees associated with the item to auto-waive in the same way that items with a Lost status can auto-waive. This would prevent confusion at the circulation desk and streamline the check-in process.

Multiple BIB titles holds
When a Patron or Teacher wants to place holds on multiple titles/items in a series, or by an author, wouldn't it be great if we could do that at ONE time :D (see pic) THX!

Ability to use QuickPaste or PhraseExpress with the Leap MARC Editor.
Our catalogers used to be able to use QuickPaste (similar to PhraseExpress) to enter data in bibliographic records when using WorkFlows with SirsiDynix.
We have hundreds of subject headings and genres, relationship designators, and other information saved in QuickPaste that could be inserted into bib records with easy key combinations. For example, <Control><Alt><S> would provide a dropdown list of 40 or so most commonly used genres that could be inserted easily. Another example is <Control><Alt><V> which would provide a dropdown of about 20 subfield |v inserts. This no longer works with the Leap MARC editor.

A way to customize pop up notices
Various popups appear in Polaris via the client or Leap. Some are pretty clear in what the reminder or error message is about and some popups are not.
I am requesting a way to customize the text and title (Leap only has this visible) to make it more clear for our staff to understand either the popup reminder or the popup error with a little more explanation.
Example for Popup Reminder: Via the client we have a popup reminder about "reminder notices option is email. Do you want to continue?". This occurs when we leave the email field blank per…

LEAP: Add line item to EDI invoices and receive
We have instances where an EDI invoice from a vendor will contain materials that were ordered both via EDI and directly through the vendor. The EDI invoice in Polaris only includes the EDI ordered materials and then we add a line item for the materials that were not ordered via EDI.
In LEAP we are able to add a line item to an EDI invoice but we are not able to receive it manually like we are in the client. I have included a screenshot to illustrate this.25 votes -
Call Number Scheme Menu in Item Records
We use only two call number schemes in item records, either “Dewey Decimal” or “Other”. I wonder if it is possible to hide the rest of the schemes from the dropdown menu in item records. This will reduce the chances of accidental selection of an incorrect scheme.

Add Global Search to Leap UI to locate features
There are SOO many features and so much functionality in Leap, but sometimes it is hard to find them.
Today, I was looking for the Patron Import feature in Leap 7.8, I couldn't find it. Turns out it is under Background Processing.
This request to add a Feature Search to Polaris that is present across several websites and applications that allow you to search by typing part or all of a feature name and allows to you find that without having to dig through a bunch of Menus.

Allow multiple statistical classes to be assigned to patron records
Currently only one Statistical class can be assigned to the patron record. It would be helpful to allow multiple statistical classes to be assigned. Sometimes a patron can be registered while multiple programs occur, such as when a child is registered for a 0-5 campaign, and then later they may participate in another reading program. Both codes would be used to track each type of program. Currently, we have to use the notes field to do some tracking, and the notes field isn't as friendly since it is free text.

Implement EDI Claiming From Sierra/Millennium
We’ve long benefited from Sierra’s well-supported EDI claims functionality, which has enabled seamless communication and efficient claims processing with our library partners. However, we’ve observed that Polaris currently lacks equivalent support for sending claims via EDI in the same format.
Can you please port over the EDI Claiming Format From Sierra & Millennium to Polaris? This would make it easier for libraries migrating to Polaris from these products.

Improve the Request Manager
Our staff complete weekly and monthly checks on hold requests to ensure our customer holds are being fulfilled in a timely manner.
To do so, staff check the hold status (Active vs Inactive), age of the hold against the hold type (item or bib level), number of available copies, and number of holds in the bib level queue. This requires staff to open item/bib records and return to the Request Manager list frequently, and can mean the review lasts over several days, making it hard to track where they were in the queue when they had to pause in the…

Options for patrons to customize image/detail display
Provide options to allow patrons to toggle showing images/details for a simpler view within the PowerPAC. Ideally, this would be available regardless of login status.
E.g., "Show images" and "Show details" in the search screens (simplified to title, author as well as the buttons on the right for Availability, Full Display, Place Request, Add to My List )
"Show images" in the checkouts, lists, saved searches and reading history screens. We've had a few patrons request a more simplified view of the PowerPAC (which we call the basic catalog, opposite our Vega Discover catalog) with less information and images to…

Control column display in item record history in Leap
Allow staff to customize the display of columns in the item record history, as they can in the display of search results. For example, our staff have pointed out that for each action the item's assigned branch displays prominently, but it is less relevant that the "location" (i.e., the branch where the history action took place). They would find it much clearer and easier to use if they could control the order of those columns, and set it as Date / Location / User/WKS / Status / Action / Assigned Branch.

Allow 3M SIP 2 Port for the branch to be viewed
Information about which 3M SIP port that is tied to each branch is only available if you have SQL. This request is to allow that port to be viewed in Sys Admin. Even if it was just part of a a branch's properties that would be fine.
It could also be in a table view format (like Fine Codes, etc.) but it would just be nice to see that information somewhere outside of SQL.
