  1. For TV series that have multiple volumes, or other volumed series associated with the same Bib record, I would like it when it prompts me about which volume I would like to place a hold on, to also give me the option to place a hold on all volumes.

  2. When our library transitioned from Sierra to Polaris, our Sierra serial check-in cards could not be transitioned. We have several serials that go back decades. In order to make the "Library Has" field display correctly in Vega, I currently create a publication pattern that begins with the earliest issue. I can then either extrapolate check-in boxes and check in every single back issue (which is a huge pain in Leap, because issues can only be checked in one at a time), or I can skip to the most recent issue received after the transition.   3. Specifically, in 7.7, in the options to display facets within the Administration Explorer: Dashboards: Narrow Your Search & Related Searches, allow the opportunity to display the checkboxes for the Collection Codes and/or Mat Type for an improved patron experience.

  4. We teach staff that, except in very rare cases, they should always be placing bib level holds for customers but sometimes folks make mistakes. It would be great there was a check box option in Leap to convert a customer's item level hold to a bib level hold while retaining their position in the queue. Currently, if a staffer places an item level hold in error, to fix it, they have to place a new bib level hold and then use the checkbox and arrows in the queue to move them from last position (for example, 453) to their former…

When we create a weeding record set, before sending it to the approval dashboard for review, we'd like to have a way to mark items in the set as "not found" or some other indication that the item is not on the shelf. Right now we can update items individually to another status (missing for example) or remove them from the record set. We would like the ability streamline this and mark the item directly in the weeding record set.

  6. There should be two statuses to easily identify lost and paid vs. lost and not paid billed materials. This would help make running reports much easier and help identify the status of lost items.

  7. Add a running total to the Fiscal Year - Funds tab - FREE BALANCE column.
    This will allow a quick check of the year's budget 'bottom line' to see what the balance to be spent is.

  8. Currently cutting and pasting from OCLC Connexion Client into Polaris is cumbersome. Allow for complete fields and their delimiters to paste into Polaris seamlessly.

  9. Currently, receipt/slip configuration is hard-coded into Polaris system administration. Libraries are limited in what information they can add to a receipt or slip and do not have control over design elements in sys admin. Innovative does not recommend modifying the related SQL job to make changes there. It would be helpful to have greater flexibility and customization options for libraries, especially for hold and in-transit slips. For example, a library could configure in-transit slip information to match what is required by their library system's delivery service.

  10. It would be helpful if Polaris could integrate with Skyward and TeacherEase Student Integration Systems. We currently provide service for a number of K-12 schools and it would be helpful if fines/fees could be transferred to the primary system a school uses.

  11. My staff mentioned that they would like it if we are renewing a patron account, we could have the option to renew all accounts it has an association with at the same time. Ex: If Jane Doe comes into renew, we can have the option with the click of a button to automatically renew John, Jim and Jill Doe's accounts as well. That way all members of a family can be updated at the same time more easily.

  12. Currently there is no mechanism to limit the number of active Borrower by Mail requests a patron can have. It would be beneficial for all libraries to be able to limit the number of active BBM requests a patron can have in Polaris.

  13. The current method for changing a Polaris Staff Member's password is clunky and not ideal if part of a large library system. Additionally, all SA management is moving towards the web-based interface. It makes sense to incorporate staff password management into the SA web-based interface.

  15. We would like Polaris to transition items with a Circulation Status of Damaged to Withdrawn after a specified time frame. We envision this working like Lost Item Transition and the Missing Item Transition.

    Adding this feature would allow a library to automatically remove items from a patron's record (but still retain any associated charges) and allow for a more streamline process for deleting item records.

  16. In Leap Serials, the ability to select multiple issues and then click check in is needed for large libraries to use Leap Serials, exclusively. The workflow of selecting each individual issue and then clicking check in is slow and tedious.

  17. We would like to be able to adjust the timeout in Leap after inactivity ourselves. Currently, we have to contact support to do this after each upgrade, since it resets itself. If the setting was in SA, we could reset it ourselves after each upgrade.

  19. Polaris supports a preferred pickup branch for patrons. This request is to extend that support to allow the patron to set a preferred pickup area.

    Many patrons prefer to 100% always use a particular pickup area, for example outside lockers. So, they shouldn't have to select that area everytime they make a request.

    This would allow them to set their own preferred pickup area the way they can set a preferred pickup branch. This preferred pickup area should also be used when the staff bulk places a title on hold for a batch of patrons, again the same way the…

  20. When items are checked out through SIP2, Polaris includes the "You just saved __ by using the library" text in the response. However, this information is not available when using the ItemCheckout method through PAPI.

    As we start moving vendors away from SIP2 and towards PAPI, we'd like to replicate the functionality of SIP2.
