  1. Currently, notifications in Polaris can only be filtered by branch. For example, one branch can enable specific notifications and another can disable them. We would love the ability to apply more granular filtering to determine which patrons receive certain notifications.
A workflow for us is billing notifications. Our library policy exempts certain patrons from billing based on their Patron Code. Because Polaris does not currently allow notifications to be filtered by Patron Code, we must manually work around the existing workflow to align with our policy.
We would love the ability, within SA, to filter notifications by patron attributes such…

  2. With the new option to update patron codes based on age criteria (which we're excited about!), it would be useful to be able to send notices to patrons whose account type was auto-updated and/or to pull a report we could use for sending out messaging to the impacted patrons in our newsletter platform.

  3. Polaris APIs provide the ability to edit both Bibliographic records and Patron records via API. This is very useful for internal processes as well as third party processing.

  4. Reading History presents only a partial view of the transaction lifecycle. While it shows when an item was borrowed, it does not show when it was returned.

    This creates several practical issues:
-- Staff cannot easily confirm whether and when an item was returned
-- Additional steps are required to investigate the item history, which are time-consuming and cumbersome
-- It introduces confusion at service points, particularly when responding to patron queries about past borrowing activity

Could a “Check In Date” column be added to the Reading History grid in Polaris Leap to provide a more complete and usable record…

  5. When viewing a patron’s transaction history, selecting a transaction displays the related/paired transaction (e.g., waive vs. original charge). This behavior is working as designed but creates confusion because the displayed details do not match the selected row.

    Current Behavior
    • Staff select a transaction (e.g., a charge from 2/23/26) and select the history button.
    • The system opens a detail view showing the associated transaction (e.g., the waive from 3/26/26).
    • This makes it appear as though the system is pulling incorrect or reversed data.

    User Impact
    • Causes confusion and lack of confidence in the accuracy of transaction records.…

  6. When using the Search tool and searching a bibliographic record, it would be nice if the "Call Tag" column used the actual call tags my library creates and not the 082 field. This could be similar to the search for Item Record.

  7. It would be super helpful to have the ability to create a report in Simply Reports (Bib list report) that would update an existing record set, which would then automatically update a Showcase/Carousel in the mobile app.

    Here is my example.
I created a report in Simply Reports, advance published it, and in SSRS I subscribed to the report and set it up to email me. (Receiving the report is just for tracking purposes. What is needed is the report to run and update the record set, to in turn update the Showcase/Carousel.)

When creating the report, under 'Bib record…

  8. Most of our libraries have changed their expiration date to 2 years. For new patrons this is fine, but for most existing patrons, their expiration date will still expire within the original 1 year expiration period. It would be helpful to be able to bulk update patron's expiration date, for a particular branch to a relative date. For example, 2 years from the date of registration.

  9. Provide options to allow patrons to toggle showing images/details for a simpler view within the PowerPAC. Ideally, this would be available regardless of login status.
E.g., "Show images" and "Show details" in the search screens (simplified to title, author as well as the buttons on the right for Availability, Full Display, Place Request, Add to My List )
"Show images" in the checkouts, lists, saved searches and reading history screens.

We've had a few patrons request a more simplified view of the PowerPAC (which we call the basic catalog, opposite our Vega Discover catalog) with less information and images to…

  10. Currently, Polaris allows all staff members to override a hold and check out a Held item to a different patron. We need a System Administrator (SA) permission to control this functionality. Our preference is to prevent staff from overriding holds, ensuring items are always checked out to the requesting patron.

  11. When using the INN-Reach Check In option in Polaris we would like it to display where the item is being transferred to. This can be done with a pop up display to acknowledge the transfer location or displaying it on the check in log after check in happens.

Currently staff notice status went to transferred and need to open up the request to see where the patron chose to switch their request to.

We know we can have Polaris print the ILL transit slip but we prefer not to waste the paper to basically quickly see where to send it.

  12. We would like to request that transit slips print for INN-Reach items that have been borrowed by our patrons and need to be returned. When these items are checked in, no transit slips print for us to easily return them to the lending libraries. We came from Sierra, where this was standard. Adding the return transit receipt would streamline our workload back to what it was before migration as we won't have to look up these codes manually. It will also help staff recognize that the returned item is not ours and needs to go back to another library.

  13. The new patron import process will be a major improvement for handling student data, but it still requires significant data formatting before uploading through LEAP. It would be incredibly helpful if libraries could create their own templates to define how data is mapped to specific CSV columns, including logic for assigning patron codes or populating fields like UDFs. This kind of flexibility would greatly reduce the staff time needed to prepare files for import.

  14. Add a Transmission Method of 'E-Mail' when creating an invoice. The current options are Paper, Fax, and Electronic. Many vendors now send invoices by E-Mail, not the US Postal Service. Invoices created by EDI transmissions are tagged as 'Electronic' as they should be, even if the vendor emails the invoice to us. What I would like to do is be able to identify an invoice that was emailed to us by a non-EDI vendor. I know it's technically a paper invoice once I print it; but it was received by email and should be identified as such.

  15. For larger library systems that need to continually create new staff members, being able to access the APIs would be a big time saver. That would allow, among other things, to automate that task.

  16. Currently, there's no option in the PACREG application to allow patrons to choose to receive email notifications in plain text - but that option does exist in the new patron application on the staff side. Libraries using the PAC registration feature would like to have that included in the PACREG form.

  18. Staff have suggested that the Name on Identification area of the Leap registration form be collapsable, so that it will only be accessed if absolutely necessary. This measure would be an extra step in ensuring a patron's privacy, if a staff member accessing the record doesn't need that particular information.

  19. Working with the weeding-type record set workflow in an attempt to streamline, we have found the absence of an option to create a Bib record set from the available actions takes us a rhetorical two steps back from before (when we weeded via item record sets). Once the items have been withdrawn, we now have to go through each withdrawn item's record to their respective bibs, to uncheck "Display in PAC". It would be nice to add a "Display in PAC" uncheck in the Weeding template creation - however, it would need an added function to alert staff of bibs…
