  2. Make temporary shelf location visible on picklist. Adding this to the picklist will allow staff to quickly locate items that might be on display or some other temporary shelf location.

  4. The ability to edit patron information—such as custom data fields or core registration details like name and email—without requiring the patron’s PIN or password would be highly beneficial. While using a Record Set to bulk edit standardized fields (e.g., expiration date or User1–User5) is extremely helpful, it doesn't cover all use cases.
For example, we regularly receive updated information from our partner school, including address changes. Currently, the inability to programmatically update these records creates workflow bottlenecks and limits our efficiency in maintaining accurate patron data.

  5. Our system uses over 20 patron codes but less than half are used when first registering an account. We'd appreciate the ability to suppress some patron codes from the patron code dropdown menu in the NEW patron workform (but not when displaying an existing patron account that has already been saved and had a patron ID assigned). This would cut down on staff accidentally selecting the incorrect patron code when registering accounts.

  6. Label printing can be a limited function in a large library system, using specialized printers to perform the task. Consistency is also important in the spine label. By being able to control access to this utility, it will ensure a better spine label product across a library system.

  7. Under the top level of the My Account tab on desktop, you see more information than you do under the top level of the My Account tab on mobile.

    See attached screenshots.

I would like to see the same info on both.

    Thanks.

  8. We would like to have an option where non-resident patron types have a blocking condition for e-resources, but it only limits e-resources. We would like for them to be able to still manage their online accounts and renew physical items, so the patron-initiated blocking condition does not work. Right now, that can only be done in CloudLibrary through SIP, not API.

I think this idea needs some clarification. Are you using a non-resident patron code? If so, we do return the PatronCodeID in our PatronValidate API. I wonder if this is a situation where Cloudlibrary has infrastructure in place to support checking the patron code via SIP, but not yet via the Polaris API.

  9. Currently, we utilize a bookmobile and would love if we can limit that pickup location to our outreach patrons. This could easily be accomplished if we could limit locations based on patron codes.

  11. We've begun leveraging the "ExternalID" field in Polaris to integrate staff authentication with Google using our Google Workspace email addresses. During this process, we've encountered matching errors when updating existing Polaris accounts that share email addresses with previously deleted user accounts.

It would be extremely helpful if, when a Polaris staff account is deleted, the associated ExternalID is automatically cleared to prevent these conflicts. Additionally, when an error does occur due to a duplicate ExternalID, a clearer error dialog that identifies the conflicting PolarisUserID would greatly assist in resolving the issue quickly.

  12. It would be helpful if Polaris could integrate with Skyward and TeacherEase Student Integration Systems. We currently provide service for a number of K-12 schools and it would be helpful if fines/fees could be transferred to the primary system a school uses.

  13. Our consortium just transitioned from Sierra to Polaris. When our item records were brought over, volume information was included in the volume field of an item record. Because no serial holdings information transferred from Sierra to Polaris, we have been recreating our Serial Holdings Records. When we generate items from the SHR, the issue information (chronology and/or enumeration) appears in a separated designation field on the record, which makes the display look terrible. An option to make the chronology/enumeration information appear in the item record's volume field instead of in a separate designation field is absolutely necessary for us to…

  15. We use remote lockers that connect with SIP2 to the ILS. We are unable to send ILL's to the lockers and have them trapped by the locker software using SIP2 as all other materials that are in Transit status are able to be trapped via SIP2.
