Polaris integration with Kajeet
More and more libraries circulate mobile wifi hotspots to the public. Polaris and Polaris Leap do not currently integrate with Kajeet, which is one of the more popular wifi hotspot providers for schools and libraries. It would be beneficial to libraries using the Polaris ILS to be able to streamline the circulation process such that checking in/out a hotspot in Polaris also activated/deactivated the hotspot itself.

Default patron codes - Make Leap function like the Polaris Client
When a patron's registered branch is updated via Leap but their existing patron code is not available at the new branch, Leap assigns the first patron code alphabetically by default. The Polaris client, by contrast, applies the default patron code for the new registered branch. Please follow the patron registration default patron code for that location in Leap, as happens today in the Polaris client.

LEAP - Outreach Services - automatic print packing list during CKO
LEAP - Outreach Services: When processing held items in Outreach Services, items for a patron will deselect after checking out. This requires staff to go back and reselect the desired items to print a packing list.
The ability to turn packing lists on such that they print with CKO would be appreciated.
A prompt to "print packing list?" during CKO would also work.

(SMS - Cirriusimpact/third-party SMS) Flag patron account within Polaris when patron "opts out"
Reviewing the process of integrating Cirriusimpact at our library, we've encountered a notable issue: patrons opting out of text messaging and staff needing to adjust their notifications accordingly. Currently, we're relying on CGS to send daily email alerts when someone opts out, but it would be more convenient to add a non-blocking note to the Polaris account visible to all staff. This would ensure everyone is aware of a patron's preference change and simplify the search for patrons with similar notification settings.

Permit cancellation on "held" items - staff only
In the 7.5 update, which introduces the ability to cancel items in "shipped" and "held" statuses, I suggest extending this cancellation privilege to staff members exclusively. When patrons cancel items that are on hold, those items are often already on the hold shelf, and the system's only notification to staff is by adding the item to the cancelled hold list.
By allowing only staff to cancel holds, they could promptly remove the item from the shelf and cancel it directly, eliminating the need for setting an expiration date or other measures to force its expiration.

authorized user
It would be nice if Authorized User (custom field under Attribute on patron registration) can be added to the header in Leap so staff do not have to open up(click) the patron registration to see it.
We would like for this field to be visible when staff opens the check out screen for a patron without having to open their registration screen.

Include Address Verification in LEAP
All libraries would benefit if LEAP used address verification check, when feature is enabled in Polaris Client on the LEAP web app.

Add more info to Waiver Request in Fines & Fees in Patron account in PAC
We think it would be helpful for patrons to see Waiver Requests as "Submitted" or "Pending", "Approved", and "Denied" for better understanding. See screenshot which illustrates the lack of that detail now.

Adding the ability to link multiple patron barcodes to one record
One of our member libraries have displayed interest in having the option to include the ability to attach multiple patron barcodes onto one patron record. The want for this is due to the interest of adding collectible library cards to their location. They also spoke to another library uses the Sierra ILS. It was stated that their ILS has that functionality already.

Send out account expiration reminders as part of the eContent integration.
There can be accounts that are expired and are still able to check out ebooks. Expired accounts are no longer valid and should be blocking at least in the integration function between the ebook vendor and Polaris.
If this isn't possible, can the checkout action trigger an email notice to the customer to have their library account renewed or reviewed.
This should happen each day an integrated eContent transaction occurs.
Keeping the account up to date will prevent the account from being closed or purged.5 votes -
Our libraries would like the option to "lock" the multiple holds in a group
Our libraries have mentioned that when staff places multiple holds on different formats of a title and then groups these holds for a patron, the loveliest conscientious patrons will go in and delete the additional holds, thus defeating the staff's intention, which was to create multiple grouped holds in order to expedite the filling of the hold. It would be helpful if there was an option to prevent removing holds when they're in a group.

Make “Satisfied By” list in Hold Request screen sortable and filterable
Product Area: LEAP – Hold Request Screen
Description:
On the Hold Request screen, the “Satisfied By” tab displays a list of item barcodes and branches that could satisfy a hold. Currently, this list cannot be sorted or filtered, unlike many other list views in LEAP.When a title has a large number of copies, the list becomes difficult to review and troubleshoot. Staff must manually scan through all rows to determine which items are Held, Out, or otherwise unavailable, and to identify where those items are located.
Requested Enhancement:
Enable the same sorting and filtering functionality used in other LEAP…4 votes -
Provide additional reporting options for In-House Use
In-house counts are very important for informing staffing and collection maintenance. It would be great to have more options around in-house beyond YTD and Lifetime counts. For example, it would be helpful to run reports on the amount of in-house use within a specified time frame in both item list and item count reports as well as the ability to run item statistical reports on in-house use.

Ability to update an existing record set using a scheduled report
It would be super helpful to have the ability to create a report in Simply Reports (Bib list report) that would update an existing record set, which would then automatically update a Showcase/Carousel in the mobile app.
Here is my example.
I created a report in Simply Reports, advance published it, and in SSRS I subscribed to the report and set it up to email me. (Receiving the report is just for tracking purposes. What is needed is the report to run and update the record set, to in turn update the Showcase/Carousel.)When creating the report, under 'Bib record…

Ability to bulk update the expiration date to a relative date
Most of our libraries have changed their expiration date to 2 years. For new patrons this is fine, but for most existing patrons, their expiration date will still expire within the original 1 year expiration period. It would be helpful to be able to bulk update patron's expiration date, for a particular branch to a relative date. For example, 2 years from the date of registration.

Options for patrons to customize image/detail display
Provide options to allow patrons to toggle showing images/details for a simpler view within the PowerPAC. Ideally, this would be available regardless of login status.
E.g., "Show images" and "Show details" in the search screens (simplified to title, author as well as the buttons on the right for Availability, Full Display, Place Request, Add to My List )
"Show images" in the checkouts, lists, saved searches and reading history screens. We've had a few patrons request a more simplified view of the PowerPAC (which we call the basic catalog, opposite our Vega Discover catalog) with less information and images to…

Add a permission to allow/prevent staff member override a hold and check out a Held item to a different patrony
Currently, Polaris allows all staff members to override a hold and check out a Held item to a different patron. We need a System Administrator (SA) permission to control this functionality. Our preference is to prevent staff from overriding holds, ensuring items are always checked out to the requesting patron.

INN-Reach Check In of transferred items
When using the INN-Reach Check In option in Polaris we would like it to display where the item is being transferred to. This can be done with a pop up display to acknowledge the transfer location or displaying it on the check in log after check in happens.
Currently staff notice status went to transferred and need to open up the request to see where the patron chose to switch their request to.
We know we can have Polaris print the ILL transit slip but we prefer not to waste the paper to basically quickly see where to send it.

INN-Reach Returning Transit Receipts
We would like to request that transit slips print for INN-Reach items that have been borrowed by our patrons and need to be returned. When these items are checked in, no transit slips print for us to easily return them to the lending libraries. We came from Sierra, where this was standard. Adding the return transit receipt would streamline our workload back to what it was before migration as we won't have to look up these codes manually. It will also help staff recognize that the returned item is not ours and needs to go back to another library.

Patron Import Process (LEAP) leveraging patron templates
The new patron import process will be a major improvement for handling student data, but it still requires significant data formatting before uploading through LEAP. It would be incredibly helpful if libraries could create their own templates to define how data is mapped to specific CSV columns, including logic for assigning patron codes or populating fields like UDFs. This kind of flexibility would greatly reduce the staff time needed to prepare files for import.
