Fix Collection Agency Report
The Collection Agency Report currently includes a field for RtrndMaterial.
Apparently whoever designed the report defined this field as "Value of material returned. (RetndMaterial)...The value is the sum of all replacement charges for lost or billed items that were originally charged by the reporting organization and that have been waived."
In other words, if your staff waives replacement charges, that gets reported to the Collection Agency as returned material, even though no material was returned and the library has gained nothing. This paints an unrealistic picture of the results of your collection efforts and allows the collection agency to suggest…

Show Pickup Area in Held view of Request Manager
Libraries that are configured to use pickup areas such as lockers, drive-up windows, etc, need to be able to see the pickup areas via the Request Manager's "Held" view. This will help libraries distinguish and manage items that are on the library's holds shelf and those that have been placed in the pickup locker.
Currently, in the patron's holds view, either the pickup branch or the pickup area are displayed in a column, no matter the status of the hold. This column of information is also available in the Pending view of the Picklist. See attached. Please bring this information…2 votes -
Allow Patron Merge Directly From Duplicate Patron Records Pop-Up
Currently, Leap will surface any potential duplicate accounts when you go to save a patron record based on the configured criteria. Unfortunately, it's not particularly actionable and, while it is nice that you can click the other account names to pull up the full record, it requires a lot of back and forth to confirm information on one account or another before performing an independent Merge action... which is to say that most staff aren't likely to perform an account merge in the moment and probably won't come back to it later... I think this could be remedied by allowing…

Powerpac in web PolarisAdmin - Individual collapse/expand settings for web parts
Currently there is a universal expanded/collapsed setting for the web parts. Providing individual settings would ensure patrons can immediatley view contents for key information.
E.g., Closure Notices and special events might be expanded by default as they include timely information while the other web parts (What's my PIN?, Add/edit Username, Suggest a Purchase) might be collapsed by default.

Ability to multi-select files to delete in MARC Import
In the Background Processing interface, MARC Import is the only view that does not support multi-select functionality (Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click) for selecting multiple records to delete. As a result, import files must be selected individually.
Our consortium processes between 70–100 MARC imports per month. Periodically cleaning up old import files is a routine administrative task, but the inability to select multiple files increases the time required to perform this maintenance. Other Background Processing views support range and multi-item selection, making the MARC Import screen inconsistent with the rest of the interface.
We are requesting that the MARC Import view support…

Allow more control over registration options in PowerPAC
PATRON REGISTRATION – LEAP & PAC, control over menu option displays
Allow control over what options show for Notices Address, Notification Option, and Text Messaging Phone on Leap and through Patron Registration via the PAC. Being able to remove menu items that don’t apply would solve notice issues. The drop down menus that list None and other non-system options create notification issues that could be avoided with control over these settings.2 votes -
Powerpac in web PolarisAdmin - Include assign/remove button in Web part editor
In the web PolarisAdmin, provide a button in "Dashboards: Web part editor: User defined" to assign/remove the web part directly to web pages.
Subsequent idea: Provide an option to assign/remove a web part to all web pages.
Subsequent idea: Provide an option to mark web pages as favorites or frequently used so we can quickly add/remove the web part to a set of web pages. E.g., Apply the updated Closure Notice to default.aspx, login.aspx, patronaccount/default.aspx, patronaccount/itemsout.aspx, etc.Idea Value
Offering this button would streamline the process of adding/updating the web part and immediately assigning/removing the part to its relevant pages.…2 votes -
Provide streamlined option for placing a group of customers on hold for the same group of titles
Our library has a program where we supply community members with books to read to classrooms. All readers receive the same set of 4-6 titles. While Polaris' function of placing everyone in a record set on hold for the same title helps, it would be great if, when the find tool pops up upon clicking Place Multiple Holds, you could change the database from Bibliographic to Record Set to simultaneously place all the customers in the patron record set on hold for all the titles in the bib record set.
With hundreds of readers across our 28 locations, having this…

Filter by Patron Selection Only in Outreach Services Utility
It would help speed things up if the way we can filter by Active and Inactive patrons for Outreach could also be done with the Patron Selection Only checkbox with something like a yes/no drop down. We could more easily focus on patrons that need the extra attention.

Vendor-Profile SIP2 Due Date Formatting
In the i-tiva 3.0 dial-in process, there are menu navigation issues caused by a SIP2 Due Date (AH field) formatting issue. These issues cause the dial-in process to fail.
In SIP2 message 18 (Item Information), Polaris is currently returning the Due Date in the following format:
DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS
Because the SIP2 standard does not define or enforce a required date format, i-tiva relies on vendor-compatible parsing. i-tiva has confirmed that this specific format is not parsed correctly and results in call-flow failures.
i-tiva supports the following date formats, any of which would resolve the issue:
• DD/MM/YYYY
• D-M-YY

Separate Renew buttons for Expiration Date and Address Check Date
The one Renew button that renews both the Expiration Date and Address Check Date at the same time is creating an issue for us when a patron has two different dates. Two separate Renew buttons might resolve this issue.

Integration with Student Integration Systems, like Skyward and TeacherEase
It would be helpful if Polaris could integrate with Skyward and TeacherEase Student Integration Systems. We currently provide service for a number of K-12 schools and it would be helpful if fines/fees could be transferred to the primary system a school uses.

Associate item info with collection agency charges
In our consortium, materials owned by any of our member libraries are shared for circulation by the other libraries. Only some of our libraries use a collection agency. When patrons pay for replacement of lost or damaged items, and any associated collection agency charges, we want to get that money to the library that owned the item. Sometimes we also need to confirm to a patron what the collection agency charge is related to.
Currently in SimplyReports' Patron Account reports, collection agency charges do not get associated with information from the items related to the charges. It would be handy…

Notes Alert on Polaris Client Checkout Window
We would like the notes icon on the patron Check Out – [patronID] - Normal – Polaris window to have the alert color change like you see on The Patron Status - [patronID] – General – Polaris window and other Patron record windows? We see that Leap has the color change of its Notes icon on its checkout page. Our landing window for opening a patron record is the Check Out – Normal – Polaris window and it would be helpful to have that notes icon change color like the other patron record windows.

System auto-capping late fees/fines
Our system does not currently have late fees on most of the collection. But for the collections we do, we have a max that we will charge in late fees for items returned on the same day per patron. It would be nice if we could set up for the system to automatically waive fees for overdue items that exceed that amount.

Switch to a yellow or red toast for return uncirculated INN-Reach items via the Check In function (7.7)
In 7.7, we now have the option to do INN-Reach check in, which is phenomenal! It has sped up this process immensely, making for happier staff and patrons.
However, the speed has brought with it some unexpected snags: The biggest at present being the color of the 'return uncirculated' toast as compared to normal INN-Reach processing.
Using Request Manager to receive INN-Reach items, the note that a 'patron no longer wants this item' was thrown front and center using standard Polaris work form coloration (which necessitated a more thorough reading of popups). If an item was still desired by a…

Prevent individual publication patterns from displaying in Vega
Currently there is only the option to display serials in Vega at the serial holdings record level. It would be helpful to have the ability to prevent specific publication patterns from displaying in records with multiple publication patterns.

Ability to have issue information appear in item record volume field instead of a designation field
Our consortium just transitioned from Sierra to Polaris. When our item records were brought over, volume information was included in the volume field of an item record. Because no serial holdings information transferred from Sierra to Polaris, we have been recreating our Serial Holdings Records. When we generate items from the SHR, the issue information (chronology and/or enumeration) appears in a separated designation field on the record, which makes the display look terrible. An option to make the chronology/enumeration information appear in the item record's volume field instead of in a separate designation field is absolutely necessary for us to…

INN-Reach Returns
I love Polaris/Leap 7.7's INN-Reach check-in screen for receiving resource sharing items. Thank you for the update!
Please make it smart enough to handle returns to the owning library as well (or create a similar screen for returns), so staff doesn't have to do the cumbersome, branch-by-branch return process in Request Manager.
Thanks!

Add Title & Suffix to PAPI PatronRegistrationCreate2 & Update2
It would be helpful to be able to create or update, via PAPI, patron registration records with the Title and Suffix fields populated. Currently, there is no way to ingest this information when using custom registration forms that utilize PAPI to create patron records.
