  2. I realize this is niche, but if you go to set up SSO in your environment, heaven help you. My crew just got through a week of getting things set up. There were 3 of my employees and at least 1 Innovative support staff and 1 Innovative dev involved all week. I can't imagine the amount of $$$ that was burned in hourly staff time getting it going. And of course the good news is that an upgrade or server move could break it all again! Some of the documentation is wrong and some of the transcribing of the data…

  3. If there is an issue with a scheduled Simply Reports job, it must be rerun manually. This includes problems with the SQL Job Polaris scheduling executive. For example, if one report takes longer than 30 minutes to run, the scheduling executive won't allow another instance of that SQL job to start, causing reports to be missed. Additionally, reports can be missed if the server is offline for a variety of reasons including during upgrades. Simply Reports should check the last run date for the report and reschedule it if the elapsed time is greater than the scheduled interval.

  4. I'm guessing Leap being web-based makes this difficult to outright impossible but a warning sound effect for Leap's modal alerts would be nice.

    Something like:

    var audio = new Audio('audio_file.mp3');
    audio.play();

    Assuming alerts in leap use Bootstrap's modal function calling the audio function after the shown.bs.modal trigger fires might work.

  5. Currently, it seems that we can opt to have all e-mail notices sent to the primary e-mail on an account, or all e-mail notices sent to both the primary and alternative e-mails on the account. We would like to be able to choose at the notice level whether a notice is sent to the primary e-mail or to both. This would allow us to, for example, send billing notices to both e-mails, but receipts and renewal notices only to the primary e-mail.

  6. When using the find tool basic search, we can use filters to narrow down criteria. After applying the criteria, if we select power search, the power search string is automatically created based on the filters. We can then modify the power search as desired.

    It would be very helpful if this could work in opposite way: that if we create a power search, but are wanting to then see the visual representation in the basic search filters, that we could move from power search to basic search with the criteria filled in in the filters.

  7. Please add a Save option for the full picklist so any items removed will stay removed.

    When we go to Utilities > Outreach Services > Picklist, we see the full picklist for all Outreach Services (ORS) patrons. We can find a title either by scrolling through the list or using the filter to search by patron or title. We can select the title and then press "Remove from list". The full picklist displays and the selected title no longer appears on the list.

    However, there isn't an option to Save here.

  8. Indian Trails Library has several members who own 2 properties in 2 different CCS Library areas. Several times now these member's accounts were merged due to other library staff in other libraries not looking at the member's notes. This upsets the members and is more work for library staff to recreate the other account.

    It would be great if there was a red banner like the "expired" banner on a member's account that owns two properties so that when any CCS library opens the member's account the red banner will alert them that this member owns to properties in the…

  9. We would like the ability to modify the description of the Item Record History Actions when it comes to renewals. Currently, when a renewal happens in the app, it lists it as "Renewal - third party software" which confused our library staff. We were told that is the wording for anything renewed via the Polaris API, but since (for now) the only thing we have renewing that way is the app, we'd like to change the wording to say "Renewal - Mobile App" so it's clearer for staff.   10. When the theme's scss file is edited and compiled, the version parameter on the stylesheet link in the HTML does not update. This means that browsers don't know to pull the updated css from the server if they have it cached, so the css updates won't apply for all users immediately due to browser caching. Here's an example of the line in the HTML with the version parameter:

    <link type="text/css" rel=""https://yourlibrary.org/polaris/custom/themes/theme1/site.css?ver=7.1.14157.0">

    It looks like the version parameter is based on the Polaris version, so I'm guessing it's automatically updated whenever Polaris is upgraded, but that doesn't help for theme adjustments…

We just had a situation with a patron where several items they returned in the book drop on 6/30 were checked in today 7/5, however they were back-dated to accommodate for the days the library was closed and prevent fees from accruing. But upon viewing the history in Leap for each of those items, the check-in date displays as 7/5 and does NOT show the 5 days back-date, which would've been 6/30.   12. We had a staff member let us know that they had a credit on their personal account and they found the process of dealing with the credit to be a little frustrating. The credit did not automatically apply to their other fees and there was no way for them (as a patron) to tell the system to apply the credits. The only option was for the patron to get in touch with staff to have this taken care of. This would give the patrons more flexibility for managing their account.

  14. When I adjust the language string with StringID ECTEXTBARCODE_PLACEHOLDER it is changed in two places, one of which is a surprise to me:
    * The wording in the input field for the patron card number and
    * The label for item information on the "Items Out" screen.
    The latter needs to have a separate StringID to make the former work in any meaningful way.

  15. During MARC import, other 02X fields (022, 024, 028) only match on $a, but 020s match on any subfield, including $z, which is supposed to invalidate the following ISBN. Is it possible to modify the match points for 020s so that they only match on $a?

    On a related note, just out of curiosity: in the MARC import settings, why are most match points referred to by field number (022, 1XX, etc.), but ISBN and UPC are referred to by name? (And wouldn't UPC already be covered by 024 $a, since the 024 match point doesn't look at indicators? Or…

  16. In Sirsi, there was a quick option to post holdings to OCLC (for ILL holdings). In Polaris, we have to use OCLC Connexion and post the holding there for each item that is not automatic (like items from Ingram). This is not ideal, as it takes more steps to log into Connexion and find a good record (when we are already locating the record once from a remote database when we add the record in LEAP). It would be nice if there was an option to click to post the holding while cleaning up the record.

  17. When merging patron records, the system currently appends merge details to the Non-Blocking Notes section. However, with the introduction of Dated Notes and the ability to hide Non-Blocking Notes, this information can be lost depending on system settings.
    We would like to see one of the following options implemented:

    • Allow administrators to choose where the system writes merge notes.

    • Have the system automatically write merge notes to both note types (Non-Blocking and Dated Notes).

  19. Our system uses over 20 patron codes but less than half are used when first registering an account. We'd appreciate the ability to suppress some patron codes from the patron code dropdown menu in the NEW patron workform (but not when displaying an existing patron account that has already been saved and had a patron ID assigned). This would cut down on staff accidentally selecting the incorrect patron code when registering accounts.

  20. Make it easier for staff to quickly view the borrowing history of an item by including a column that shows the customer's name. Having to click on the PATRONID is meaningless to staff and an additional unnecessary click.
