  1. Our system uses over 20 patron codes but less than half are used when first registering an account. We'd appreciate the ability to suppress some patron codes from the patron code dropdown menu in the NEW patron workform (but not when displaying an existing patron account that has already been saved and had a patron ID assigned). This would cut down on staff accidentally selecting the incorrect patron code when registering accounts.

  2. Sometimes just sending the URL from the PAC address bar will result in a blank, white screen for the user on the other end. Attached are 2 strategies to offset this but it's a lot to expect staff to know and it would be great if URL links could just be shared with customers without this kind of intervention.

  3. The one Renew button that renews both the Expiration Date and Address Check Date at the same time is creating an issue for us when a patron has two different dates. Two separate Renew buttons might resolve this issue.

  4. Add an Invoice Status of 'Ready to pay' or 'All items received' in the Find Tool - Invoice - search filter. This will allow EDI invoices to be filtered to ones where all items have been 'received' and make the invoices ready to 'pay' easier to find

  5. In our consortium, materials owned by any of our member libraries are shared for circulation by the other libraries. Only some of our libraries use a collection agency. When patrons pay for replacement of lost or damaged items, and any associated collection agency charges, we want to get that money to the library that owned the item. Sometimes we also need to confirm to a patron what the collection agency charge is related to.

We would like the notes icon on the patron Check Out – [patronID] - Normal – Polaris window to have the alert color change like you see on The Patron Status - [patronID] – General – Polaris window and other Patron record windows? We see that Leap has the color change of its Notes icon on its checkout page. Our landing window for opening a patron record is the Check Out – Normal – Polaris window and it would be helpful to have that notes icon change color like the other patron record windows.

  7. Our system does not currently have late fees on most of the collection. But for the collections we do, we have a max that we will charge in late fees for items returned on the same day per patron. It would be nice if we could set up for the system to automatically waive fees for overdue items that exceed that amount.

  8. In 7.7, we now have the option to do INN-Reach check in, which is phenomenal! It has sped up this process immensely, making for happier staff and patrons.

    However, the speed has brought with it some unexpected snags: The biggest at present being the color of the 'return uncirculated' toast as compared to normal INN-Reach processing.

  9. Currently there is only the option to display serials in Vega at the serial holdings record level. It would be helpful to have the ability to prevent specific publication patterns from displaying in records with multiple publication patterns.

  11. Please add a checkbox to exclude Inn-Reach items on the picklist. Inhouse requests are searched separately and by different staff than those who handle Inn-Reach requests, and so it would be nice to have their lists only display inhouse requests. Thanks!

  12. I love Polaris/Leap 7.7's INN-Reach check-in screen for receiving resource sharing items. Thank you for the update!

    Please make it smart enough to handle returns to the owning library as well (or create a similar screen for returns), so staff doesn't have to do the cumbersome, branch-by-branch return process in Request Manager.

  13. It would be helpful to be able to create or update, via PAPI, patron registration records with the Title and Suffix fields populated. Currently, there is no way to ingest this information when using custom registration forms that utilize PAPI to create patron records.

  17. When receiving cartons in ASN, it would be nice if Polaris would check immediately if there's an invoice to generate instead of either a. going to the process EDI invoices work form to find and generate it manually, or b. waiting until the next day when the EDIAgent runs again.

The "Number of days past first available" setting was developed specifically for the issue where libraries would like the new item's hold requests to be limited to only patrons registered at the item’s assigned branch and other branches associated with the same parent library for a specified number of days. We would like to try this workflow, however, it won't work in our system as all of our branches are under the same library organization.

  19. The new(ish) bulk waive options in Leap are extremely useful, but library administrators often want to waive charges of a certain amount - usually "waive all charges of less than X dollars." The current interface, however, doesn't allow the user to specify an amount for the charge to be waived. This would be very useful and would avoid the need for creating a SQL statement to identify such charges.   20. In the i-tiva 3.0 dial-in process, there are menu navigation issues caused by a SIP2 Due Date (AH field) formatting issue. These issues cause the dial-in process to fail.

    In SIP2 message 18 (Item Information), Polaris is currently returning the Due Date in the following format:

    DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS

    Because the SIP2 standard does not define or enforce a required date format, i-tiva relies on vendor-compatible parsing. i-tiva has confirmed that this specific format is not parsed correctly and results in call-flow failures.

    i-tiva supports the following date formats, any of which would resolve the issue:
    • DD/MM/YYYY
    • D-M-YY
