  1. One of our member libraries mentioned this as a possible feature request for Vega Discover.

    They stated, "A great would be if you can click the library name to display item availability if under the location drop down if you can also display the library address and phone number. This would make it easy to click the phone number to call the library to check on real time status of an item for patrons etc. Very useful for staff and patrons!

  2. We would like to be able remove "Export Citation" from the Options menu that appears on resource cards since it requires use of another service and we think this will just lead to confusion for our patrons.

  3. When editing the Manage Translations strings, it would be helpful to know where we could look at the context for strings and/or confirm that a change was implemented.

    For example, there are various "GET IT" strings, such as:
    "getFromAmazon": "Get from Amazon",
    "getIt": "GET IT",
    "getItBtn": "get it",
    "getItem": "Get Item",
    "getMaterial": "Get Material",
    "holdGetIt": "Get It"

    It would be helpful to have clarity on where/the context in which each of these is used.

  4. In Vega eCommerce setup, you have to enter a whole dollar amount as a minimum amount that can be paid online. We require a minimum of $1.01, which is confusing to patrons if we configure this at $1 See screen shot.

We have the ability to turn off "Other books in the series" in our Syndetics settings which turns off the gray covers for items not owned in that section, but unfortunately we have no way to turn off just the "Similar Series" section of "You May also Like" without also turning off the "Top Picks" for individual titles in the "You May also Like" section. We would like "Top Picks" to be separate from "Similar Series" in the settings for "You May Also Like" so we can turn off one without turning off the other.

  7. It would be great if the Syndetics summaries were accessible in Vega. In Encore we had Content Café, and clicking on the book cover returned a page like the one below. Patrons (and staff) really miss summaries on future release books we don’t have summary information for.

  9. When a patron goes into a list of bookmarks, the default sort order is oldest first. I would prefer it if the resources I just added appear at the top of the list without having to scroll or re-sort.

  13. In a consortium, the default is the name of the account of the consortium. This is confusing because the consortium name might be the name or nickname of a single library in the consortium. Patrons do not recognize the email address (no-reply@iiivega.com) or library name listed (Bett). Ability to customize the message would allow each library to use their own branded name.

  14. Recently at the Strategic partner meeting it was discussed that the current Hoopla integration will be developed further so that pre-defined MARC records lists of top 100’s or Top 500’s could be imported and displayed.
    I would like to see this taken a step further and have the option for Hoopla materials to display on the roll up if there is a match to the existing physical holdings rather than the current all or nothing option.
    This would really help customers when they are looking to get hold of materials as fast as possible, and in addition will help market…

  15. Currently, when viewing a roll-up that has no cover image, the format text stays the same regardless of which tab you click on. This results in, for example, the cover still saying Emagazine when you click on the Periodical tab (examples attached). If the image could update and say Periodical when you click on the Periodical tab, this would be less confusing for patrons.

  17. After creating a site in the site configuration, you can limit to a specific location like main library or branch library. I would like to be able to chose all of our locations but be able to specify a "home" library which would reorder the collection location identical to when you log in to an account. This "home library" would still show all the locations having copies but would reorder them giving a specific location preference.   18. We are still at the stage where we have to request search statistics, and the data is somewhat limited in nature:

    Currently, the two types of statistical overviews available are:

    1. A count of all visits* to any page over the desired time period.

    2. A count of all visits* to search results that were done over the desired time period.

    *The reports don't call them visits; they are called visitors. No idea if they are unique visitors?

  20. Currently, the only way to stop a branch's holdings from appearing in Vega is to uncheck "display in PAC" for each item assigned to that branch. It would be nice to have the ability in Vega admin to automatically suppress a branch (as we can in Polaris System Administration for PowerPAC)
