  1. A small handful of our libraries have reported issues copying barcodes and BibID's from Vega's lightbox and pasting into Sierra. Apparently irregular expressions like a new line can sometimes be selected and Sierra will not paste anything afterward; giving these staff members the impression that nothing copied over.

    We've explained that they can double-click the text to select only it but it would be helpful if there was a dedicated copy to clipboard button next to these fields to minimize confusion.

  2. It would be much more helpful for us if we saw the current default icons for each format type when we look at the "ILS Material Type to Work Level Roll Up Mapping" chart (see attached). We have no way of knowing what the "default" icon is for some of these formats, so we would have to do a search one by one in grid view to see what each format is by default. The chart should display the current default icon either next to or instead of the word "default" and there could be an option at the top…

  3. Currently, you have to select "Apply" for limiting your search with facets. Most websites these days automatically apply filters/facets, making auto-apply something our patrons are used to using.

  4. Keep the search bar throughout ALL Discover pages. Similar to Google or any search engine - it should always be at the top and would make searching more convenient because it would avoid having to navigate back to the home page of the catalog.

  7. When staff create showcases and then are no longer with the library, there is no way the Admin can "take over" the showcase to maintain it. The only option is to delete the showcase and re-create it. Same with saved searches. If a reference librarian has created a saved search but leaves the library, search would have to be re-created.

  9. When a patron is logged into Vega on their My Bookshelf profile, three options are displayed under location. We would like the ability to mask either Home Library or Registered Library Branch. Both options are usually the same for our patrons so we would like the ability to mask one of these options to avoid confusion. See the attached photo of the three current locations displayed when a patron is viewing their profiles in Vega.

  10. Sort order of attached items should match the sort order in Sierra. Series can then display is order by volume not by date published which results in displaying the last volume first.

  11. Currently, when you allow patrons to edit patron profile fields like Email address, phone numbers, etc., you can Edit and Add. We don't want our patrons to Add in some cases, like Email, because when the patron does this in Vega, that means an additional z-tagged field in the record. Until Vega allows LX notices to go to more than 1 z-tagged field, we don't want patrons adding one and then wondering why they didn't get the notice to the e-mail address they just added.   12. The filter options that are currently available in Vega don't allow patrons to search by video game platform. We would like to see a new filter or a subfilter for the Format facet that would allow users to refine the search results by console/platform. In our catalog a game like Overcooked, which has multiple editions for Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PlayStation consoles, brings up 14 different results that a patron would need to click into to find the platform for each. With a platform filter they could select Nintendo Switch and apply that to the search to end up with…

  13. I know the information display on search result cards has been discussed for re-designing to make it easier for casual users. I hope that will extend to the information and buttons that live under the search bar but before the results as well.

    In our catalog, customizations like the text strings and Vega guides have made it busier admittedly, but I would like the text sizes, button shapes, colours, and/or selectability indicators to be more consistent and arranged in a way that is more intuitive for navigation (easier said than done I know).

  14. It has been requested to index volume record statements to be searchable as it was in Encore. We have local generic bibliographic records that to input alternate titles or other added entries in the bib record would not appropriate; however, if volume statements were searchable, patrons and library members alike could locate desired resources.

  15. Patrons have requested the ability to see an estimated wait time for their holds from their Holds Summary screen. Currently, they see where they are in line, but there is no indication as to the number of potential copies to fill the hold. If they are #5 in line, and there are 5 copies, this item will arrive soon, but if there is only 1 copy, it could be another couple of months before it arrives. For heavy library users, having a rough estimated date helps them decide what holds to freeze or unfreeze, and manage their holds better. This…

  17. Allow Libraries to select the order that the facets display in the Refine panel of the search results. Ordering should be allowed at the Main and Site Levels. Main Vega Discover facet order should cascade to the sites unless overridden by a site level configuration.

    Some facets are really important to searching and should be ranked higher. For us the format is the most important facet. That may not be true everywhere. Consortia are more concerned with collecection and location, so we need to have the ability to organice the facets as we could in Encore

We would like there to be a 'fully supported' option to add a collection site dropdown list, not simply documentation to do it ourselves with the caveat that Innovative can't be responsible for whether or not it works. I've included a screenshot that shows how it actually doesn't work well on mobile, and we aren't able to do much about that. However, if there were a fully supported dropdown option, I think it's safe to assume it would be optimized for mobile use as well. This is what we would want.

We recently joined The Palace Project and would love to have the items in those collections searchable and findable in our catalog in the same way that our Overdrive books are currently integrated, rolling up with other editions and requestable directly in the catalog. Ideally this would extend to LEAP as well so we could see the records alongside all the rest.

    It's especially helpful for the more popular titles that the state library also has copies of or for niche titles only they have purchased. This would include both Palace Bookshelf items and Palace Marketplace items.

  20. The current default selection for a MARC extraction is "All Records". If a user clicks submit by accident, this can take hours to complete. Default selection should be changed to " New or Updated Since <today's date>" as that is a faster extraction (and probably more used)
