Show personal/contextual information in patron list view
In line with ideas about customizing the experience more to the patron, and adding more useful information to the lists feature, I would like if the messages like "you have one copy checked out" or "you have one copy on hold" appeared when patrons are looking at their own lists (like it does on resource pages, but without having to click into each one to see the status). It could also be tied to data from the reading history to say "borrowed once before," etc. This would help patrons who are researching a topic and bookmarking many potential resources, or…

Port the Polaris Vega login page over to Sierra
Sierra libraries that are currently using the cumbersome ipsso integrated login page have to keep using that page if they move to Vega. Polaris libraries can use a unique to Vega login page/widget that needs little to no configuration. (Correct me if I'm wrong about that.) We would have loved to ditch our crusty old ipsso page and not have to worry about it anymore when we bring Vega online but as a Sierra library we don't have that option.

Add options to exclude content via facet selection
The current functionality of Vega Discovery allows patrons to filter their search results by selecting one or more facets from the left-hand panel. However, there is no option to exclude results. For example, a patron who is looking for books on history may want to exclude ebooks or audiobooks from the results.
This enhancement request proposes to add an option to exclude content via facet selection and or other means. This would allow patrons to refine their search results more effectively and find the most relevant resources for their needs.
Adding an option to exclude content via facet selection would…

On Order Searching an sorting
'On Order Availability Facet - Allow users to limit searches to materials that are On Order' is on the roadmap for "later". We would love to see this added, including the ability to sort results by order date. We have developed a workaround by creating Material Types for On Order to allow these items to be searched and placed on hold; however, none of the existing sort options allow users to easily navigate these results. Users would like to be able to see newly ordered items appear first in the list so that they can check back regularly to see…

hoopla
Further customize Hoopla integration to allow segmentation of collection content.
Hoopla doesn't do Top 100s or Top 500s anymore as of January 2024. What they can do is "Top Load", which is popular titles across each format (about 85,000 records) and includes top DEI and non-English language titles.
Libraries also want to segment to just Juvenile, just audiobooks, etc.10 votes -
Remember Me for Account Login
Could we please get a "Remember Me" option for the account login page? Our patrons would like their devices to autofill in their library card numbers.

Failed Extraction Alert in Vega Admin
Add an alert feature to Vega Admin that will notify select users when an extraction fails. Currently, when an extraction fails in Vega Admin, there is no way to know unless you manually check the logs. This can be time-consuming and frustrating. By adding an alert feature, users will be notified immediately or on desired intervals when an extraction fails, allowing the user to take action quickly and minimize issues as a result of the failure.

Allow lowercase letters to remain lowercase in translations.
We have noticed that in several places the second and third words start with a capital letter even though we have written the words in lowercase letters in the translation file. For Swedish (and more languages), it looks very strange when every word in a phrase or sentence begins with a capital letter.
Some examples:
"publisherInformation": "Information om utgivare", in Vega Information Om Utgivare"audience|general": "Allmän målgrupp", in Vega Allmän Målgrupp
"audience|juvenile": "Barn och ungdom (0–15 år)", in Vega Barn Och Ungdom
"audience|pre-adolescent": "Äldre barn (9–13 år)", in Vega Äldre Barn
"audience|preschool": "Yngre barn (0–5 år)", in Vega Yngre Barn

Allow libraries and collection sites to control what patron registration data shows in the patron profile
For example, patrons see a home branch, a registered branch, and a preferred pickup location. With our Polaris ILS, patrons don't actually have a home branch, so it looks like this just gets populated with their registered branch. Some patrons and staff have expressed confusion over this - it would be nice to be able to choose what fields from the patron registration display to the patron on their profile. Since we're a consortium, it would be especially nice if this could be controlled at the collection site level, rather than the higher level.

Translation of "This hold can not be frozen"
This message appears when trying to freeze a reserved material that is in transit or has already arrived at the reservation shelf. Our Vega is in Swedish so we wish that this message can translate to Swedish and other languages.

Limit Collections in main site as well as collection sites
It would be great if there was a way to limit "Collections" on the main Discover search the same way you can limit on individual collection sites. In our particular use case, we have a single member library that has items in a collection that should only be visible on their collection site. Excluding that collection from all other collection sites is easy, but there isn't a way to do it on our main site. Thanks for your consideration!

My Bookshelf Personal Lists option to view in text format v.s. Images
In the My Bookshelf Area, which includes Checkouts, Holds, Bookmarks, Saved Lists, Reading History and Showcases, it can be cumbersome for those patrons with large lists to view them. Patrons (and staff) are missing the ability to view multiple titles without having to scroll and would like the option to view these lists in a text format instead of what is currently available.

Permanent Links
Permanent link to Vega records. When records are changed, the Vega ID changes and thus the link changes resulting in broken links. Please create permanent links for Vega records that aren't affected by changes to the item or bib records in Polaris.

Automatically re-execute search in Location Drawer
In the Location Drawer, there is a search box that offers the user a place to narrow the results based on call number, edition date, etc. When the user changes the location, the results update to the desired location and the search term(s) is retained in the search box, but the results don't reflect the inclusion of the search term. The user must click in the search box and manually re-execute the search. This is not intuitive at all. Retaining the search term while updating the results to a different chosen location implies that the results include the effect of…

Make adding to 2 showcases easier
Currently in Vega Discover, adding an item to multiple lists requires you to go to your first list of items, select the particular item in the list and then multi select the lists that you want the item to be added into. Can there be a new feature to add items to multiple lists within the search results screen for streamlining purposes?

Saved search link just saves filters, it should also save "locked" filters
A saved search link just remembers the filters, but not if any of said filters were locked or unlocked, the lock status should also be saved

Integrate Proquest databases into Vega Discover (Searchable)
Please enable ProQuest database customers to seamlessly search their databases within Vega Discover without the need for creating placeholder bib record redirect links. The ultimate objective is to allow patrons to conduct searches for items such as historical newspaper titles and receive relevant search results from our catalog, along with direct links to ProQuest Historical Newspapers databases associated with their search queries.
Third-party databases would also be fantastic but I'm sticking to Clarivate owned products for now.

Show original check out date on My Account, not just renewal date.
Currently, when you renew an item, your checked out date updates to the date you renewed. Patrons have asked that it show the original check out date. So an item checked out originally in November and renewed in December would show the new due date, renewals remaining, and the original due date (not the date item was renewed). I suppose it could show renewal date, so long as original checkout date was available to see somewhere on the account (patron view).
