Maintain authentication across collection sites
A patron that has signed in on the main Vega site or any collection site should remain signed in when linking to another collection site (unless the library has specifically limited sign in to an individual site). Currently, when an authenticated patron clicks to view another collection site, they lose their authentication. Patrons are not aware that they are on a completely separate site and are then confused when clicking on "My Bookshelf" does nothing. Message about duplicate hold
When patrons try to place a hold on something they already have placed a hold on, instead of getting a message that they already have a hold, they receive the message,
"Your request for this material was unsuccessful
Couldn't find suitable edition for the request"We would like to be able to edit this message to let them know they already have a hold and cannot place a second hold on the same record.

Supported eResource vendors have added visibility in Vega Discover. We have integrated bibliographic eResources with that vendor and would like to maximize the visibility of this vendor.

Adding Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Tagalog, and Portuguese
Our library serves a very diverse patron base, and, while some commonly spoken languages are represented in Vega already, there are a few missing that we'd love to see added to better represent our demographics, if possible. The languages are Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Tagalog, and Portuguese. I see someone else here has already requested Arabic and Urdu, so hopefully this helps too!

Sharing Showcases across libraries
Similar to a feature BiblioCore offers, libraries want to see Lists that other libraries across the country/world are creating. Enhancement request could be to give libraries the ability to Share Showcases outside their organization.

Checkouts: More Information, Please
In the Classic catalog, when you view yor checkouts, the barcode is included (see https://ideas.iii.com/forums/951766-vega-discover/suggestions/46626907-add-the-item-barcode-to-the-checkouts-in-my-booksh) as is pertinent volume information. That information is not included when you view your checkout in Vega. We have multi-volume sets, magazine, etc., where this information would be helpful. We noticed this particularly when we set up a "dummy" ILL bib w/attached items (we don't have the Sierra ILL product, and our ILLs go through OCLC). Staff put details about the specific ILL in the attached item record, but Vega is only pulling the title from the bib, not the item volume information.

Showcases - Adding in an Alt Text Option for Custom Uploaded Images
Currently the alt text that is added to showcases (specifically on the Image Panels option in Showcase Groups) is not detailed enough. It would be helpful for accessibility needs to be able to include our own alternate text for custom uploaded images.

Only show children's content when in children's catalog/viewing children's material
When in the children's catalog, the Vega & Syndetics sections (Related Resources, Topics, etc) in the records should ideally only display children's titles. As an example, right now, when I pull up the Diary of a Wimpy Kid DVD, I'm seeing the Where'd You Go Bernadette DVD under Related Resources and A Man Called Otto DVD in Topics. We don't want to direct children toward adult titles.
It would actually be great to also be able to hide any adult items from Related Resources, Topics, etc. anytime a record for children's material is being viewed, whether in the main Vega…

When searching by ISBN or other identifier for a specific format in rollup, have search results land on proper tab
This is more for library staff, but when searching by a standard number for a specific format, to have the search results land on the correct tab in rollup. For example, searching an ISBN for an e-resource will currently take to rollup but the book tab selected and not on the e-resource tab.

Improve Locations Facet in Themed Kids Catalog
In the kid’s catalog version of Vega Discover for consortium use we are currently unable to neatly organize the location codes needed to limit the content to solely JUV materials. There can be many JUV codes in use for a single library which can be confusing for the patron if they’re looking for a specific library in the Locations facet.
Level 1 (library) codes do not appear in the Locations facet, even if the Level 2 (branch) codes are nestled under them. Being able to have a single location option for each library would be beneficial for the patron’s experience…

Staff user accounts: add library/organization field
To manage staff accounts across a consortium, we need to be able to associate users with each other by library. It would be very useful to have a piece of metadata for staff accounts that identifies which library(ies) they work for.
This would:
1. Make it easier to filter users when looking at the long list of all users.
2. Let people have control over the showcases created by others in their organization but not the entire system - currently, we can't let librarians publish their own showcases because we don't want them to have consortia-level control to all showcases.…20 votes -
Fully display bibliographic description
Currently, only partial of the bibliographic description is displayed in the Location Drawer Item Details due to either character limit and/or predetermined select subfields. The full description needs to be displayed to include additional content from $e of the 300.

More obvious cookie prompt.
It's possible this could be resolved with the new VPAT update but I have had a number of patrons tell us that our catalog was broken because they didn't see the cookie notification in the footer. Something more obvious/eye-catching (see Worldcat) might be better.

New Advanced Search Facet: Loan Period
Allow patrons to search results based on Polaris items' loan period codes.
This will also allow Vega showcases to be created for popular items with unique loan periods.

Update the Current Vega On Order Logic to include Suppressed Status Items
The current Vega On Order logic allows the library to select Material Types that will show a status of On Order when there are no items attached. The problem is that for older titles sometimes all the attached items have a status that we suppress from display because it's not useful to the patrons such as: Missing, Withdrawn, Damaged, Lost, etc. These items, because they are suppressed from display will cause this title to show up as ON ORDER when it's actually not and may be weeded from the collection soon. Display information for everything by one author
When someone clicks on the author name for an item, they should be brought to a search result that shows all items by that author available in their library system. Currently, we're brought to a page that looks like what I've attached and it's quite annoying to try and view everything and look for availability. If a patron is looking for information about an author, they're not likely to go looking in the library catalog. Configure Vega Fine Payment to a Specific Stat Group in Sierra
Vega fine payments are automatically assigned to stat group 0 within Sierra, limiting our ability to track e-commerce payments effectively.
We propose configuring Vega to use a custom stat group for fine payments. This would simplify our monthly reporting process by consolidating fine payment data from two PayPal accounts into a single report, reducing the risk of errors.

Simplify Location Icons
We have a patron request to simplify the number of location and availability icons. Patrons are often confused and upset by the icons. They are upset at being confused, and eating up their time. The in-house availability icon is too small and gets lost on the page. The larger, initial icon causes a lot of confusion with seniors, parents, infrequent library uses.
