  1. We would like for Vega to allow specifying a statistics group w/Sierra REST API requests similar to what the III mobile app does.

    Vega has never sent a statistics group with Sierra REST API requests (ex. renewals) and the current behavior is that the request is logged under statistics group 0. We only learned of this - up until recently, the requests were actually falling under the stat group assigned for our Classic WebPAC web transactions.

    We would prefer keeping stat group 0 for issues/errors (bad login used for SDA, i.e., no locations served assigned) vs. certain Vega transactions.

  2. We would like to make the color of the search icon and other icons that have the same orange color to be customizable. This would increase the possibility to create the same look and feel that the other websites of our city have.

  3. We need a way to prevent serial holding record information from displaying in the work card. SHR info is very useful when looking at an individual library's location drawer, but since it can differ from library to library in our consortium is often incorrect when displayed under the shared title. An example is Vogue magazine. Not all of our libraries limit circulation on the current issue, nor do they all keep two years of issues.   4. We are finding the creation of staff user accounts a bit clunky. Having only 12 hours to accept the link is too short of a time frame when someone from another location is creating the user account but unaware of when the staff member is working or will see the email. If the window is missed, there's no way for them to request a new link, and the account has to be deleted and recreated. There also needs to be a Forgot Password option for staff users.

  5. We have had issues recently where items have been transferred to new bib. records and disappeared from Vega as a result and others where items were deleted and disappeared as expected, but then never reappeared once they were undeleted.

    We would like to have a database sync process that can be run which compares the Vega database against the ILS to confirm that everything is in sync - basically a cross-system data integrity check or verification process between systems that would let us know if there was anything that was out of sync so we could investigate and correct it.

  7. Like many libraries, we have a Library of Things and many of the items can't be stored out on the shelves. This makes it difficult for patrons to browse our LoT collection when they visit the library. We're creating a system of cards, but that is fussy and requires regular inventory to make sure cards accurately reflect what is here.

    I know we can make a carousel list of LoT items in Vega. What I would like is a carousel that indicates if items are available at a location or checked out.

  8. Patrons have noted that when showcases feature a large number of items, they find it frustrating to navigate the full showcase Library List display. Several have asked about whether an option to switch to a grid view can be added, similar to the option that is available to them in the search results.

  10. When placing a hold on a title with multiple volumes, a screen pops up asking "Which Volume/Issue Would You Like To Request?". The volumes are then sorted by digit rather than numerically. So, for example, Vega Discover sorts as follows:

  11. Vega Discover allows patrons to choose individual fines they would like to pay but doesn't allow a patron to pay simply a set amount of their fines. Patrons would sometimes like to just pay a portion of their fines that will allow them to continue using the library. Add a feature that lets the patron enter the fine amount they want to pay of their total and have that portion deducted from their total fines.

  12. Change the position of passthrough source links to a row below "## results found for {keyword}".

    The current position of the findFrom text and passthrough source links does not leave much space for more than a few words. The responsive behavior of the findFrom text is to disappear on small screens. This makes it difficult to convey the purpose of the passthrough source link. If the link has an entire row there will be adequate space for descriptive text on all devices.

  14. The current "address" information in the Account Portal consists of the Street 1 field from Polaris on the top line and the City, State, and ZIP fields grouped on the second line. Our library uses Street 2 for apartment numbers and would like the option to display Street 2 in account portal so that patrons don't think part of their address is missing from our records.

  15. Offer a setting in Vega Admin to restrict access to third-party content (e.g., CloudLibrary) by patron code, such as controlling visibility and/or buttons to place holds and checkout.

    Problem
    The vendor records are ingested into Vega, but access restrictions enforced in the vendor’s app and website are not applied in Vega. As a result, certain patron codes can still place holds and check out digital items. When they visit the vendor's app/website, they are not granted access to the item.

  16. We'd like Vega to sort the volumes in a serial holdings display with the latest issues at the top for easy patron access.

    For example, we have People magazine, with hundreds of items in our holdings. With the PAC display, the lastest issues are listed at the top, descending from there by date, so patrons can easily see what the latest issue is that we have and can quickly place a hold (see attached file "pac-request-list" screenshot). Vega seems to sort oldest-to-newest, so the user will have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to find…

  18. With support ending for the MyLibrary! App, we will be encouraging patrons to use our mobile-friendly Vega Discover Catalogue in a web browser on their device. One thing that will be missed is the ability to click "Show Card" to display a scannable barcode for checking out with staff or at a Self Checkout station. Currently, the barcode number is included in the patron profile but it would be great to add a scannable barcode image there as well.

  19. This would ensure patrons can put holds on what they can actually checkout, by determiners like their patron type, checkout location and the item’s type. This would reduce frustration, failed requests, and staff intervention. For example, our corporate library collection can only be borrowed by patrons with a Corporate ptype. Currently when a title exists in both the Corporate and general collections and is available to borrow in the general collection, patrons retrieve an “unrequestable” message from Vega if they select to "Request any edition".   20. When updating the Vega Admin closure dates for locations, the dates seem to be fixed in the order that they were created. It would be helpful to sort these by either date added or date of closure.

    It would also be helpful to automatically hide the closure dates in the past. This is beneficial in our other platforms, including Library Market, our website calendar with Granicus, our Google Business pages, etc.
